SABANG BEACH, BALER - The Secret Surf Capital Of The Philippines
Today we leave nueva ecija and head to sabang beach in baler aurora province which is the secret surf capital of the philippines.
We have heard that aurora province which consists of baler and many others has a feel of being like a mini batanes in the sense of really big cliffs and hills and big waves crashing against the rocks. Baler does have elements of this which were really cool to see.
Sabang beach is the main beach in baler and is were you will see many surfers or people learning to surf. This is the beach were all the action is. We did not expect a surf beach to be very good so we was really surprised to see sabang beach was pretty nice with good sand and no trash.
We are exited to be in baler and will do our best to show you as much as we can in this short space of time that we have here. Aurora province will not disappoint im sure of that
BALER AURORA | SABANG BEACH, MOTHER FALLS, ERMITA HILL
Last August my friends and I decided to spend the long weekend in Baler, Aurora - a popular destination for surfers about 5 hours away from Metro Manila.
Having never visited before, I made sure we book a guided tour (Kuya Wendell) to take us all around the province.
Our first stop was famous Mother Falls which had us trekking for about half an hour. The view was breathtaking and the water was as refreshing and as rewarding as you would imagine it to be.
After our visit to Mother Falls, Kuya Wendell drove us to see the Millenium Tree (the oldest Balete tree in Asia). We were even able to go inside and hang around the branches which I thought was pretty neat (there were cameras inside it, too).
The next stop was Ermita Hill which had a spectacular view! I would recommend going here to watch the sunset over Sabang Beach.
Our last stop with Kuya Wendell was the Hanging Bridge which was the closest attraction to Sabang Beach (where we were staying). Not much to do but it's another must see if ever you find yourself in the province.
We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with our friends - eating, swimming, and eating some more. :)
Definitely had so much fun and I'll make it a point to try to visit other beaches next year!

Surfing in BALER - (Sabang Beach Baler, Aurora, Philippines)
Sabang beach, Baler is a good place for surfing. Waves are consistent and perfect for beginners. And there are a lot of instructors around, and guides for intermediate surfers.
We got a good surfing instructor from aliyah surf resort. Instructors + board rental would cost you about 300-400 an hour.

Cradle of Surfing in the Philippines - Sabang Beach Baler, Aurora | VLOG 46
In the late 1970's when the film APOCALYPSE NOW shot their scenes in Baler, little did the film-makers realize that they were dawning the Philippines' surfing culture. Edwin Namoro, as one of the oldest surfers in Baler was just 10 years old back then: Curious and amazed at the sight of the actors surfing(which was something he had never seen before). When the filming was over, surfboards were left behind on the shore so Edwin and his friends picked them up and taught themselves how to ride the waves and the rest is history. That moment entirely changed the course of their lives and the whole country as well.

Baler’s long coastline offers a number of surfing venues in the area. It is available for all types of surfers, whether you are a nubcake or a seasoned one. For beginners, Sabang Beach is the ideal spot because its
waves are breaking on a sand bottom beach and getting wiped out seems a little less intimidating. To catch the best waves, plan on surfing between December and February, when waves hit its peak size(gigantic 2.7 meters).

The eastern portion of Luzon is known for its mighty waves, thus attracting wave chasers and sun chasers alike to its coastal areas. One of those destinations is the town of Baler in the province of Aurora, and Sabang Beach is Baler’s most notable surfing spot.

Baler, Philippines
Baler is a great tourist destination and for two days we were able to explore some wonderful natural attractions. Sabang beach is a long stretch of sandy shoreline with soft and shallow ocean bed. It is a haven for surfers and an ideal place for those who want to learn to surf. Numerous surf shops are situated along the beach. We hiked up Ermita Hills in Mt. Dibudalan at Sitio Dicaloyungan, Barangay Zabali. From the top of the hill, we had seen the stunning view of Baler Bay, Dima-Dimangalat and Aniao Islets. We went to a small waterfalls called Diguisit Waterfalls and enjoyed a refreshing swim with friends. Crossing the Tibag-Sabang hanging bridge was breathtaking, with weathered planks of wood and fragile bamboo railings. Another wonderful sight to behold is the century old Balete tree which is located in the town of Maria Aurora. The tree has a huge opening and you can climb its huge branches but be careful not to fall. We made another trek to a bigger waterfalls called Ditumabo Mother Falls in the town of San Luis. It is one of the major attractions in Baler. It got its name Mother Falls since it is the biggest waterfalls in Aurora province. This magnificent falls has a height of 140 feet and creates a rain-like experience within the area because of the strong current of water flowing from the top. It truly is an awesome sight and a wonderful work of nature. During the trip we also had the chance to tour around Baler town and visit different historical landmarks within the town proper. We can say that food in Baler had a lot of interesting dining options to offer which will surely satisfy our cravings for good food. Last but not the least, we didn't forget to buy pasalubong and souvenirs to bring back home to our family and friends in Baguio City. There are several souvenir shops within the town you can choose from to buy quality souvenirs. Visit Baler, it's one of the best places to see in the Philippines! It is an experience for keeps.

Then we asked manong trike driver to take us to Sabang beach front to have dinner. He gave us number of Manong trike driver/guide for our day tour tomorrow.
And after dinner we went back to our hotel and have a dip to their pool and went to sleep.

24 Hours in Baler Part 2! Where to stay, what to do? SABANG BEACH, Playa Azul | MNL Food and Travel
In Part 2 of our 24-hour trip to Baler, we highlight Sabang Beach, the so-called birth of surfing in the Philippines.
Booking a hotel here is easy. There's an abundance of options from the kilometer-long beachfront. We stayed at Playa Azul Baler Hotel via Booking.com which cost around 2,700 pesos.
Tricycle is the main mode of transportation, and they charge affordable rates from the beach area to the town center.
There are many things to do here in just one day, and we definitely made the most of our trip here.

Sabang Beach Baler Aurora Philippines
Sabang Beach Baler Aurora
Famously known as the surfing capital of the Philippines because of the massive waves that will give you an amazing surfing experience! Cheap front beach hostel, friendly surf instructors and tour guide (that reminds me of the surfer and the instructor, and then they fell in love with each other which happened here in Baler. PS. I didn't fell in love with my instructor guys. Trust me. ????????), stunning beach views. Gahd! Thinking all that makes me want to go back to Baler real soon.
We went to Ampere Beach in Dipaculao Aurora to catch the sunrise which is really amazing; to Ermita Hills where you can see the statue of the survivors of the Tromba Marina (the tsunami that the people in Baler will never forget) and you can also go upstairs to see the white cross; to the hanging bridge where you can see nothing (jk) ????✌????; we also went to Aniao Islet where the water is REALLY clear that you can see the fish swimming around and lastly we trekked down to the Mother Falls in San Luis to see that big ass momma falls ???? (Kuyang tour guide told us there's a bigger water falls than Mother Falls which is Father Falls, and there's also Baby Falls which is the small one of course. I am not joking.)
And oh! I almost forgot, your Baler Trip is not complete if you do not go to the Balete Tree or The Millennium Tree (wherein of course there's a tree. Well it's not just a tree, it's a BIG EFFIN TREE! ???? It is said to be the largest of its kind in Asia and it is estimated to be 600 years old. It is over 200 feet with its roots and it takes close to 50 people holding hands to circle the tree. Also, some people believed that it is a home for supernatural beings like kapre, tikbalang, etc.).
Guess i'm talking too much now. Byeee ❤️

BALER Aurora Philippines | LEARNING THE BASICS | RIDE AND SURF
Learning the basics of surfing. Beginner's sufing guide at Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora
My original plan was to make a 1 day ride to Baler, Aurora and back to Bulacan.
But due to my unplanned de-tour to Dingalan, Aurora, and unexpected bad weather encountered while passing the road of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija to San Luis, Aurora,
I decided to spend a night to Baler, Aurora.
And the idea of surfing pops-up in my head. Since, I have no plan of doing other activity than to ride, I don't have extra cloths.
So on the next day, I went to a local souvenir shop to buy 1 set of short, shirt and underwear.
Please watch my ride, sabang beach views and scenes, and do basic surfing and clips from some pro-surfers.
