►Mexico City street food guide:
I met up with 5 Mexican Guys ( and they just started their channel since I met them, so go check them out!) to go on an ultimate Mexican street food tour of Mexico City. It was one of the greatest food days I had in Mexico, and we tasted so many incredible dishes.
La Esquina del Chilaquil - For breakfast in La Condesa, there’s no better place to check out than La Esquina del Chilaquil, their tortas are delicious.
Price - 40 MXN ($2.14) each
Mercado de San Juan - I wanted to quickly check out this market, but it wasn’t all that busy when we went - there wasn’t too much going on. So we had a quick scorpion and then continued on to the ultimate street food market.
Scorpion - 160 MXN ($8.54) for 4
Mercado de La Merced - Mexico City is packed with street food, but if you want a food experience that’s busy, in your face, and always exciting and delicious, Mercado de la Merced is one of the greatest places to start. You’ll encounter massive amounts of street food that will blow your mind with how delicious they are. Here are the things we ate at the market:
Quesadilla - 57 MXN ($3.04) for 3
Fries tacos - 20 MXN ($1.07) each
Pancita - 40 MXN ($2.14) per bowl
Pambazo
Mamey - 15 MXN ($0.80)
Mango - 15 MXN ($0.80)
Churrería El Moro - This wasn’t street food, but we needed a little afternoon break, and there’s no better spot in Mexico City for churros than Churrería El Moro.
Total price - 439 MXN ($23.44) for all
Esquites - 20 MXN ($1.07) - After walking around El Zocalo - the center of Mexico City, we then had a corn snack os esquites where they add corn, mayo, cheese, and chili salsas to a cup. It’s pretty tasty.
Loncheria La Rambla - Next we tried a Mexican style turkey sandwich - it was alright, but not the best food of the day.
Torta de pavo - 35 MXN ($1.87) each
Taquería Los Cocuyos - And finally to end this Mexico City street food tour with 5 Mexican Guys, we headed to Taquería Los Cocuyos, a legendary taco stall in the heart of the center of the city. The tacos are amazing, and it was the perfect was to end this day of incredible Mexican food.
Tacos de cabeza - 17 MXN ($0.91) each
Again, thank you to Moises and 5 Mexican Guys for reaching out! Check them out here:

Welcome to the best tacos in the world - the ultimate guide to Mexican street food tacos in Mexico City!
I met up with Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha ( he’s from Mexico City, he makes videos about street food as well. And he took me to his favorite tacos in all of Mexico City. We each ate the most tacos in one single day that we’d ever eaten in our lives, and it was the greatest taco day of my life!
Here are all the places we ate in this video:
Tacos Joven - They are known for their tacos de canasta, which are basket tacos, famous in Mexico City. They are served from a basket, and they keep hot the entire day as they are served. The highlight here was the chicharrón taco with chicharrón salsa.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco
Taqueria El Abanico - This is Lalo’s favorite restaurant in Mexico City for carnitas, the wildly popular braised pork taco. The entire rib in my taco was the highlight, so tender and flavorful.
Price - 20 MXN ($1.08) per taco
El Pescadito de Sonora - Originating from Hermosillo in Sonora, El Pescadito serves Mexican seafood tacos, especially shrimp or marlin tacos. Their tacototo is a taco that will change your life. This was as good as food gets for me.
Price - 35 MXN ($1.89) per taco
Tacos Charly - When it comes to Mexican street food, suadero is one of the greatest, a massive pan of slow braising beef in its juices. When you order your tacos, they slice up the meat, dip your tortilla in the fat, and you eat it with onions, cilantro, and salsa - pure meat heaven.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco
Taqueria Los Güeros - Tacos de tripa, intestines, are very popular in Mexico City as well. They may not be the most pretty tacos, but they are immensely flavorful and have all sorts of different textures going on in your mouth.
Price - 13 MXN ($0.70) per taco
Tacos Los Juanes - This is a great Mexican street food restaurant in Mexico City that serves all sorts of different tacos. We came for the tacos de cabeza and tacos de lengua, both of which were fantastic
Price - 10 MXN ($0.54) per taco
El Vilsito - For Mexican street food in Mexico City, the ultimate taco, the most loved by everyone is no doubt, Al Pastor. Cooked in the vertical spit, a technique brought over from Lebanese immigrants, Al Pastor is usually made with marinated pork that’s juicy and flavorful it might make you weep tears of joy. Lalo and I ordered, not just your ordinary tacos de al pastor, but the King of all tacos, the Gringa!
Price - 50 MXN ($2.70) each
Thanks again to Lalo from La Ruta de la Garnacha:
This was the greatest taco day of my life. Thank you for watching!

Eating Mexican CHICHARRÓN with Exploring with Cody | Mexico City Street Food 2018
Mexico City street food is some of the best and tastiest around! Exploring with Cody and I found the Mexican specialty of chicharron in Chapultepec Park (Bosque de Chapultepec) and thought we should try it!
Having lived in Mexico City for almost a year, I had surprisingly not tried this Mexican snack, but I had seen it everywhere. Trying it is definitely one of the top things to do in Mexico
There are several different kinds of Chicharrón. Some made with flour, and others made the traditional way of deep frying pig fat.
We tried it 2 different ways. Chicharrón preparada, with avacado, tomato, cueritos, cream, cabbage, and salsas. Also Chicharrón solita, with just some sauces, Tajin, salt and Lime.
After making this video, I learned that maybe we had made a mistake... Are both of these flour? Or is one actually the real one?
I need to stop asking the shop keepers for information, I think they just answer Yes to every question so I buy their food ????
Mexico is so much more than just tacos. There is god level street food here, allowing for some great food videos. Would you give this a taste test?

Eating PANCITA MEXICANA?! ????Street Food in Coyoacan Mexico City | Exploring with Cody
Pancita Mexicana or Menudo. Cow Stomach Soup for you english speakers... is a Mexican Street Food I have seen in a lot of Mexico City markets. This country has some strange, weird, and crazy things to eat, and this one is not too hard to find.
From what I heard, people either love it or hate it. It's history goes all the way back to the Spanish conquest, where the locals were given the scraps of left over meat to eat. They decided to make the best of it, and that was the birth of a lot of these stranger street foods in Mexico.
Exploring with Cody and I found this Mexican specialty in the Mercado de Coyoacan, or Coyoacan food market. Here, you can find everything... street tacos, garnachas, pozole, pancita de res, and even sesos (brians) which we ate on Cody's channel.
Having lived in Mexico City for almost a year, I had surprisingly not tried this Mexican snack, but I had seen it everywhere. Trying it is definitely one of the top things to do in Mexico.
After making this video, I learned that maybe we had made a mistake... Are both of these flour? Or is one actually the real one?
Mexico is so much more than just tacos. There is god level street food here, allowing for some great food videos. Would you give this a taste test? Did we eat pancita right? Did we do something wrong in the preparation? let us know!

Centro Historico, Mexico DF -Tacos at La Torta Brava in - Mexico City w/ Gringo Surf Cali
Nothing Beats real CARNE ASADA TACOS. So June 2010 I had a bit of an layover in Mexico City flying from Panama. I wanted to see some of Mexico City and some people recommended that I go to Centro Historico or what is known as Zocalo. I was in search of great Mexican Carne Asada Tacos, which did not seem like an easy task. I did not see the Taco Carts I am accustomed to seeing in Tijuana.
I was not going to the tourist gringo restaurants where they drop off us white boys for the over priced tacos served to tourists - where a local person would be afraid due to all the gringos in one spot.
After quite a bit of driving I found it!!!! I saw this place and full of locals and knew this has to be good.
A great find!!! La Torta Brava
A small torta place named La Torta Brava next to the Holiday Inn. Great Tacos and a great lunch I highly recommend when you in Centro Mexico City.
also Travel Channel on Zocalo -
So if your in downtown MEXICO CITY and need good tacos - go find La Torta Brava you will be rewarded for your effort.
Tell them Gringo SurfCali Dave sent you!

From Oaxaca, we flew to Mexico City, and to begin our Mexico City food tour!
We landed at Benito Juárez International Airport and I had arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport to take us first to eat barbacoa - one of the ultimate of all Mexican meat dishes, and then on to go to the Aztec Pyramids of Teotihuacan.
We drove straight to a small town in the mountains called Texcoco. The hills around Texcoco are known for their barbacoa, Mexican style of barbecue. Even when I was in the US, I remember seeing little hole in the wall restaurant serving “Barbacoa estilo Texcoco,” Texcoco style Mexican barbacoa - so it’s famous for this dish.
El Pica I - The restaurant I wanted to try was El Pica I, and even in this small mountain town, the restaurant was absolutely bumping - there was a meat party happening. You could smell the aroma of the lamb as we drove in. You choose a table, and you walk around and self serve your food. There are many Mexican foods to eat, but the real reason you come here is for the lamb barbacoa - the most insane lamb pit bbq! The meat is cooked in underground clay ovens, and when they open an oven it looks like they are opening a mine.
The lamb barbacoa was some of the most tender meat I’ve ever experienced. It was fatty and juicy and ultra flavorful.
Price - 800 MXN ($42.95) for 2 kg.
Teotihuacan - Stuffed full of lamb, we continued on to Teotihuacan, the ancient Aztec city, known for its giant pyramids. Unfortunately since we went on a Sunday, it was absolutely packed, so busy that we couldn’t even hike to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun because we ran out of time. But nevertheless, it was still worth visiting and it’s very impressive to see.
Entrance price - 70 MXN ($3.76)
Highlight of today for me was the insanely irresistible lamb barbacoa in Texcoco, WOW. Thank you for watching this Mexican food tour!

Mexican TACO ADVENTURE in Puerto Vallarta
Mexico has some of the tastiest and most beloved food in the entire world. If you ask someone, 'What's your favourite food?' I find 'Mexican' is quite a common answer. Of all Mexican street food, tacos are the most popular. Take a fresh tortilla and add delicious fillings, salsas, and a squeeze of lime. In this video, Marc and I do a taco tour in downtown Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where we try all sorts of different tacos, from favourites like tacos al pastor and fish tacos to new-to-me flavours like beef cheek and marlin. Each place we go makes their own unique salsas too. We also try other Mexican street food, like churros, as well as two super popular drinks (for the first time!): pulque and mezcal. To me, the best part of a food tour is getting the chance to try new things I might not usually order or even know is available. For example, one of the carts we visit serves eyeball tacos and they're the first to sell out!
Huge thank you to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board and EnRoute Communications for inviting us to experience Puerto Vallarta and to Vallarta Food Tours for introducing us to tasty new eats.
