Sacred Heart Cathedral, Suva
he Sacred Heart Cathedral[1][2] or simply Cathedral of Suva, is the name given to a religious building that is affiliated with the Catholic Church and is located in the Pratt Street in the City of Suva, the capital of the island nation of Fiji,[3] specifically on the island of Viti Levu, in Fiji Central division.
Suva Cathedral was built in 1902 with sandstone brought from quarries near Sydney, Australia.[4] Its architecture is inspired by the churches of Rome in Italy. The building is covered with ornaments and stained glass and has a crypt in the basement.
The temple follows the Roman or Latin rite and serves as the headquarters of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Suva (Archidioecesis suvana) which was created in 1966 by Pope Paul VI by bull Prophetarum voices. Not to be confused with the Church of the Sacred Heart in Levuka, which is Unesco heritage.
Naililili Cathedral
Just 40 minutes from Suva up the Rewa river there is a south pacific treasure, Nalilili Cathedral. Inspired by a French Jesuit priest and built of coral and limestone in the mid-19th century, the church stands at the crossroads of two worlds. This film explores the story and the beauty of Naililili cathedral.

Saint Mary’s Catholic Cathedral 11/13/2018
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
November 13, 2018
The Saint Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of St. Mary the Virgin, is one of the three Catholic churches in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. With the guidance of the Pope in Rome, it also serves as the headquarters of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Port Moresby, and follows a Roman or Latin liturgical rite of the church.
The cathedral’s structure has an impressive entrance portal in the style of a Sepik Haus Tambaran, a type of traditional ancestral worship house in the East Sepik region of Papua New Guinea. Among its notable visitors was solitary Pope and canonized saint, Saint John Paul II, who paid a visit on May 8, 1984.

Sacred Heart Cathedral in Tarawa Atoll, Kiribati
The Sacred Heart Cathedral is a religious building of the Catholic church that is located in South Tarawa Atoll on the island of Tarawa part of the island nation of Kiribati in Oceania.
The Sacred Heart Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Tarawa and Nauru (Dioecesis Taravana et Nauruna) which was created in 1982 to replace the Diocese of Tarawa and Nauru Funafuti of 1978 and Diocese of Tarawa of 1966.
It is under the pastoral responsibility of the Bishop Paul Eusebius Mea Kaiuea.
The Cathedral is impressive, with nice local touches and the original bells outside to the right.
There is also lots of other things around. The womens centre (about 50m to the left as you look at the Cathedral from the street) has some great local crafts, and you know the profits are going to help break a cycle.
Like all churches on Kiribati, Sacred Heart is pewless. The locals prefer sitting on the cool Lino floors. The lack of furniture gives the churches on the island a feeling of openness and space... wonderful.
