As we investigate the nature of self, life, and what it is to be a human being, it’s important to clarify that the real difficulty that we're having is simply a tension. It's a restriction within the self that ultimately doesn't feel like it's free, that ultimately doesn't feel like you can just be, like there's some impending doom and there's something left undone. And you see how we can tell all sorts of stories about that, we can list all of our problem but it comes back to this tension. And so the intent here is to simplify what's happening. In the simplification of it, it doesn’t have to be some monumental challenge to overcome. It can really be the simplest of that.
You see, traditionally speaking, man or society doesn't like simple. It likes to be complex because than the mind feels important. We can look at the nature of reality, and the nature of life, and life being this moment right now. A lot of times when we say life and mind creates this image of all this different pieces, all this different whatever, but not actually here right now. And I'm not talking about all of that, I'm talking about this right now. This is life. This is what's real. And in this space right now there is no tension, there is no problem. And in order for you to experience tension, you have to imagine something that is not actually here. You have to literally create a problem that feeds the tension. Part of the invitation here is to live life, to live what's real, to move in the truth rather than focusing on that which is unreal.
Now this might seem like a monumental challenge. Just notice here right now, what I’m inviting you to see is to believe in that which isn't real. The root of this difficulty is simply who you think you are. Because do you notice that as you go and search for your problem, that which creates tension, it revolves around who you think you are. And do you notice, there's a monumental difference between who you think you are and the you that is here right now. Who you think you are exist in the mind, it has the story of yesterday, a projection of fear in the future and all of which isn't even happening in life. That “you” is just an idea. Just like we have our ideas about life, that's not really life. And also notice that the difficulty in living life as it relates to this idea of you is the tension arises because you’re trying to protect that idea. And I invite you to see this in your experience of being alive, that whenever you are with tension, with fear, you’re wanting to be an idea of something.
What I’m exposing here is a completely new way of operating in this life. It's a traumatically different relationship with what you are and what life is. And the doorway into this life, that is real and true, is simply a sincerity within, a willingness to see the truth. And that sounds very, very simple, doesn't it? See, the mind wants to say, Give me something to do, give me a list of 15 daily things”, all of which is about the future. You see how the mind wants to protect tomorrow, and the real opportunity here today is to not to figure out the future, it’s to see clearly what is real right now. This is how it blooms from within you, not because you learn how to do something but because you’re willing to lay down the content in the mind and JUST BE, you’re willing to lay down everything you think you know and JUST BE.

Jupiter Theme / God Beyond All Praising - Music to Inspire
Purchase at: or
Lyceum Philharmonic
Lyceum Orchestras Program
American Heritage School
Our hope is that this video can be a refuge for our viewers during the storms of life. There's something about this music that envelopes the senses and hides us from worries and cares. It's an emotional escape that shelters and replenishes humanity. If you are struggling right now just know that music and Jesus Christ will always be there for you. When other sources fail these two never will.
The Backstory
We hiked a symphony orchestra, timpani and all, down into a meadow on the backside of Mount Timpanogos during the peak of Fall colors. The camera crew recorded sunrise to sunset shooting in 4K. Bruce Wilson flew his state of the art drone over half of the mountain range looking for imagery to match the musical depth of Holst’s Thaxted theme. The Philharmonic performed the entire Planets by Holst not too long ago. Few musical moments can compete with the satisfying experience of performing that section of Jupiter. The Philharmonic was putting together an album of sacred music at the time so
Director Kayson Brown arranged this setting of the tune for that purpose. It combines the two worlds where the Philharmonic is most active – classical and inspirational music. This tune has been set to numerous texts for dozens of religious hymns as well as sports and patriotic anthems. It seems to nurture the humanity in each of us. For those less familiar with the text to “O God Beyond All Praising” by Michael Perry they are: “O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay; for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end: we lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word, we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord. Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our king; and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'II triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.”
