Saddleback Mountain Lookout, only 10 minutes from the township of Kiama. It contains three lookouts, with views of Kiama, Gerringong, Gerroa, Nowra, Seven Mile Beach, Shellharbour, Wollongong, Port Kembla and many other minor townships nearby. Due to its position and elevation it also hosts communication towers supporting the mobile networks. Many ferns, birds and animals are often hidden in shrubs and trees.

Driving from Sydney on the Princes Highway the road bypasses Kiama and enters 'The Bends' which wind around Saddleback Mountain. Just before it drops down to Gerringong there is a turnoff to the Mt Pleasant Lookout which offers excellent views over the town, the beach and the gently undulating landscape of coast and pastoral hinterland rolls towards Nowra.

Saddleback Smash - Australia's Toughest Fun Run on WIN News
The Inaugural Saddleback Smash was held in Kiama NSW on Sunday 9th October 2011. Dubbed as Australia's Toughest Fun Run, the Saddleback Smash is a 6km uphill climb up Saddleback Mountain Road to the summit, Saddleback Lookout. The viewing platform here along with the many old stone walls that can be found along the way, were constructed by the Kiama Rotary Club. Nice country rd descending from Saddleback Mtn down into Jamberoo, tried to stay off the brakes as much as possible, reached a top speed of 74kmh in a couple of spots.
