Day 1 Dance For Life Kibera with Danscores and Sadili Oval
This project of Sports for Life Programme, a not-for-profit linkage between Sadili Oval Sports Academy and African Communities, is the first of a sustainable use of dance to promote social integration, peace, and self actualization in children. Technical support to begin the project is from Ofelia de la Mola and Rebecca Woods, who are introducing dance for the first time to children, who have never seen it in this form.
WOMEN IN SPORTS: LIZ ODERA IN CITIZEN TV INTERVIEW
Dr. Elizabeth Odera of Sadili Oval Sports Academy and Malezi Foundation, who was recently highlighted as one of the highest women achievers in recent Kenyan history, was honored with the medal of French Order of Youth and Sports by the French Government, and the Head of State Commendation (HSC) from the Government of Kenya for her ground breaking work in development of youth sports in Kenya, and her commitment to excellence in education. Princy, as the kids call her (or Dr. Liz as she is known by everyone else), has been involved in the education and training of more than 11,000 youth in various sports, including basketball, tennis, football, rugby, athletics and swimming. She has de-mystified tennis and opened opportunities to about 3,000 children from poor and rich communities alike, making Sadili Oval the melting pot for tennis in the East & Central African region. Dr. Odera and her team received the reward of the Spirit of the Land of the Olympic Games of the Salt Lake City in 2002, the G-ForSE in Japan in 2003 and the Humanitarian of the Year in 2004 in South Carolina (PTR). A Tester and Clinician, Liz is currently the PTR International Committee, representing Africa and Provider for Kenya. Liz was celebrated as one of the world's most influential and inspiring women of 2011 (Ashoka ChangeMaker).

317 Girl Power Clubs Africa members committed to making peace with their neighbors and enemies, while going through the history behind the formation of the day, and playing soccer and rugby together. A total of 1570 people attended the day, and included a boys' warm up match. Girl Power Clubs Africa is girls leadership and empowerment through sport, health and entrepreneurship program for school girls in largely poor communities where there are no safe spaces and cases of sexual and physical abuse are rampant. Currently the organization has 1760 members from around Kenya.
Chizi Mutsumi of Sadili is living her dreams
Chizi Mutsumi has always wanted to be different from all the others in her family. She wanted to play tennis, and still go to school. She finally got her way, and she has played tennis around the world, and won the best doubles player in the National School Games in 2013.

These drills are by Shooting Guard and playmaker Zachary Okong'o Basil who has played for the kenya National U-18 team, and also represented Kenya at NBA's Basketball without Boarders in South Africa. He has successfully led his school team to retain Langata District Championships. claim second place in Nairobi County and Regionals in 2012/2013 seasons. He was awarded MPP (2011) and MVP (2012) at various Nairobi Secondary Schools Sports Association approved events. Zachary graduated cum laude from Malezi School in December 2013 with an A- mean score and is seeking to join a university that will offer him an academic and basketball scholarship. He hails from rural Siaya County, and went to primary school in Uasin Gishu, Reft Valley.
Amadi Kagoma College Tennis Recruiting
Amadi Kagoma of Malezi School and Sadili Oval Tennis Academy, at an ITF Under 18s in Mombasa, Kenya. Amadi, who trains under top African coach Dr. Liz Odera, is the third highest ranked East African in the ITF Juniors and an above average student. He completes high school in May 2013, and hopes to play college tennis. Amadi hails from a poor background in Burundi and is sponsored through school by a kind benefactor.
Tennis programme serves hope in Kenya slum
A non-profit organisation is giving underprivelidged children in Kenya the opportunity to become professional tennis players and helping them make better lives for themselves. Sadili Oval Sports Academy's programme that sponsors talented youths in a Nairobi slum, also promotes education, healthy living, and various other skills.
