The Zoological Center Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan (commonly known as the Safari Ramat Gan) in the Tel Aviv District of Israel is the largest collection of wildlife in human care in the Middle East. The 250-acre site consists of both a drive-through African safari area and a modern outdoor zoo. The African animal park opened to the general public in 1974. In 1981, the zoo was established in the middle of the park to replace the Tel Aviv Zoo, which had closed down.

הספארי - המרכז הזואולוגי רמת גן עש ישראל פלד הוא אתר בילוי הממוקם ברמת גן, ליד הפארק הלאומי, וכולל בשטחו ספארי בסגנון אפריקאי, גן חיות ובית חולים לחיות בר. הספארי הוא אחד מחמשת גני החיות החברים בארגון גני החיות הישראלי ומשתתף ב-60 תוכניות שימור בינלאומיות ולאומיות לחיות בסכנת הכחדה. בנוסף הספארי מחזיק בכמה שיאים בינלאומיים, לדוגמה עדר ההיפופוטמים בגני חיות הגדול ביותר בעולם או הפיל האפריקאי הידוע הגדול ביותר בעולם. הספארי הוא הגדול ביותר בישראל ובמזרח התיכון באוסף (מספר המינים) בעלי החיים והוא מיוחד בעולם כולו בשל העדרים הגדולים הרועים בשטח האפריקני. בספארי ישנם כ-1,100 בעלי חיים מכל העולם (מתוכם כ-700 בשטח האפריקני ו-400 בגן החיות), ביניהם: 70 מיני יונקים, 49 מיני עופות ו-11 מיני זוחלים.

Feeding Giraffes in Ramat Gan, Israel Safari Zoo + Wildlife VLOG

So much fun! Most recently I was invited on a blogger trip to the Ramat Gan Safari Zoo to go behind the scenes of this beautiful zoo. A Zoological Center.

Who would have ever guessed that there is a whole on African wildlife Safari in Israel! In order to get to the actually zoo you need to go through the wildlife safari with your own car. You can stop anywhere you'd like on the way to watch the animals for as long as you'd like. It was insanely amazing!

I got to see Zebras, Lions, Deers, Hippos, Rhinos, Ostrich and more! seriously mind blowing.

We also got to visit the on-site animal hospital and learn how the zoo saves animals life on a day to day bases that were injured throughout the country.

After having my share fair of fun, I arrived to the actual zoo and got a tour of zoo by the manager of the zoo. I got luckily enough feed the giraffes at the zoo and well that was pretty incredible. Did you know that giraffes are vegetarians?

First, Ramat Gan National Park, the second largest urban park in Israel, after the Yarkon Park (it's not actually a national park).
Broad lawns, playgrounds and an artificial lake. The Man and the Living World Museum is located inside the park and borders The Zoological Center Tel Aviv - Ramat Gan, a zoo known as the Safari.
And second, Edith Wolfson (in short: Wolfson Park), a park between Ramat Gan and the South-East of Tel Aviv, with a hill that has a good vista point to the white city - Tel-Aviv.

The Ramat Gan Safari, officially known as the Zoological Center of Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan, is a safari park and zoo in Ramat Gan, Israel. It opened to the general public in 1974 as an African animal park. In 1981, a zoo was established in the middle of the park to replace the former Tel Aviv Zoo, which had closed down.
Ramat Gan Safari covers an area of 100 hectares (250 acres), and has 1,600 animals of different species: 68 species of mammals, about 130 species of birds, and about 25 species of reptiles.
It has the largest collection of species in the Middle East,many of which roam freely in the park. Among others, Ramat Gan Safari has African and Asian elephants, hippos, gorillas, orangutan, and lions.
Ramat Gan Safari participates in several breeding programs and research projects.
The Ramat Gan Safari has sent animals to the Kalkilya Zoo and maintains close ties with the veterinarians in the Palestinian Authority.
The Zoological Center Tel Aviv - Ramat Gan or Safari occupies 250 acres of nature in the heart of a densely populated urban area in Israel: Africa in the heart of Israel.
The word 'Safari is colloquial Swahili for 'journey'. We invite you, our visitors, to embark on a fascinating journey into the lives of animals in the African savannah, without leaving Ramat Gan. As in their natural habitat on the continent of Africa, the animals wander freely in large herds. Like tourists in Africa, be guests of nature and watch the typical behaviour of the animals: their feeding habits, the social behaviour of the great herds, activities, and resting patterns. You will be able to see the differences between males and the females, and you may be lucky enough to witness mating rituals and power struggles, and see how females raise their offspring.

The Safari has the largest animal collection in the Middle East and is unique in the world because of the large herds of mixed species of African animals that roam the spacious African Park. The African Park and the zoo are home to 1,600 animals of different species, amongst them 68 species of mammals, 130 species of fowl, and 25 species of reptiles.
The zoo contains a variety of animals from around the world. Especially notable are its breeding herds of African and Asian elephants, the gorilla, chimpanzee, and orangutan families, the hippo herd, and the pride of lions.
The Safari participates in 25 international programs for endangered species. It is a partner in breeding and reproduction programs and in research projects. The Safari is a member of international zoological organizations and cooperates in research and knowledge transfer between zoos and nature preservation organizations worldwide.
