Yala National Park - Pride of Sri Lanka
Located 260 km South East of Colombo, Yala is the most popular of the many National Parks of the country. Though the official website of Yala claims that the density of leopards here is the highest in the world, it is not at all easy to sight one. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to see a leopard. There are Sloth Bears also in this park, but we could not see even one during our four full days' safari in the park

Elephant Looting a Safari Jeep at Yala National Park Sri Lanka (Gemunu)
Jukin Media Verified (Original)

So this happened the other day when we went on Safari in the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. We laugh about it now but we were super scared when it happened :D Video was recorded by my cousin Nadeeshe Dharmaratne (he owns all copyrights) while the sound effects were provided by Gemunu, my friends, my family and yours truly ;)
FYI: The elephant came running to our jeep because it smelled food in it, so first-time-safari-goers might wanna keep in mind that food should stay outta the National Park if you don't wanna run the risk of this happening to you.. also, a big fat DUHHH to all the smartypants who say we shouldn't have screamed. We did scream but we'll be sure to think of your invaluable piece of advice during the next attack. :P
Anyways: BEST. NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE. EVER.

Sri Lanka is a mistic and monumental country, it also has a couple of good National Parks where an interesting game drive is possible, like this we did in October 2016.
Yala National Park Safari Sri Lanka | Leopard fight!
Yala National Park safari time! Did you know you can go on a safari in Sri Lanka? Yala National Park has the highest leopard population density in the world. If spotting a leopard on safari is on your bucket list head to Yala National Park.
Yala National Park is located in the southeast region of Sri Lanka and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park is 979 square kilometers (378 square miles). Yala National Park consists of five blocks, in which only two are open to the public. On our safari with Leopard Trails we visited block 1, and all the footage in our video was shot in Yala National Park was from block 1 or Leopard Trails camp.
We went on a early morning game drive and late afternoon game with Leopard trails. Animal sightings in the park are most likely at these house. We spotted leopards in Yala National Park on all of our game drives, and even a leopard fight!
After a day of game drives in Yala National Park we headed back to Leopard Trails camps. Leopard trails is located right outside Yala National Park and is glamping at its finest. After a great day spotting elephants, a leopard fight, water buffalo, and several other animals in Yala National Park nothing beats coming back to campfire with dinner setup underneath the stars.
Location featured in the video:
Yala National Park Zone 1
Leopard Trails Camp
Due to Yala National Park location it is advised to spend at least a night near the park, otherwise you will have a very early morning pickup to get to the park gates at 6am.
