Saffron Walden
Saffron Walden is a medium-sized market town in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. It is located 12 miles (19 km) north of Bishop's Stortford, 15 miles (24 km) south of Cambridge and approx 45 miles (72 km) north of London.
Saffron Walden Museum
The beautiful Saffron Walden museum opened in 1835 and is thought to be one of the first purpose built museums in the country. With wide ranging collections & Wallace the Lion being one of the 'Mane' ???? attractions. Well worth a visit!

A BBC News at 6 and 10 item covering the development and infrastructural challenges facing many communities in the UK where rapid home building is happening. BBC News anchor and correspondent Reeta Chakrabarti visits Saffron Walden in the rural Uttlesford district of Essex where residents have formed their own party, Residents for Uttlesford (Residents4u.org). The party was formed to give local people more say in what happens and has gained a number of local government election successes.

Saffron Walden Museum Woods and Walks - Touchscreen Interactive
Heritage Interactive developed this interactive touchscreen display for Saffron Walden Museum to promote woodland walks and wildlife in the surrounding areas. Visitors can interact with a map of the local area to discover native species via high resolution photography and audio. To encourage participation visitors are invited to submit their personal photos of various nature reserves within the area.

Saffron Walden Car Show 13.08.2017
On the 13th August 2017 I once again joined my family as we visited the Car Show at Saffron Walden with vehicles and bikes both old and new on display. The event was held in 'The Common' in the centre of Saffron Walden.
At the end of the video I have also included some views of Saffron Walden itself which include the remains of Walden Castle (a medieval castle), St Marys Church and the market square in the town centre.

Bridge End Gardens - Saffron Walden
The beautiful grade II listed Bridge End Gardens in Saffron Walden was created in around 1840 by Francis Gibson. This is the sunken Dutch garden and can be best appreciated from the famous iron viewing platform.
Audley End House - Saffron Walden
The beautiful Audley End House which was originally Walden Abbey, a Benedictine priory founded in about 1139. The land sits around the River Cam and was on the original London to Cambridge road. When Henry VIII broke with Rome, all religious houses in England were dissolved – Walden Abbey surrendered on 22nd March 1538. Five days later, Henry granted it to Sir Thomas Audley, and created him Baron Audley of Walden
