Monte Creek Ranch is not quite open yet but they will be ready to greet you come the 2015 wine touring season in Kamloops. The 1200 acre property has vineyards and ranch land plus a unique connection to our pioneering history as the site of Western Canada's last train robbery by Billy Miner, the man who coined the phrase hands up. Check out one of BC's newest wineries.

WINNERS (from Northernmost to Southernmost: Sagewood (Kamloops area) Larch Hills (Salmon Arm Area) Edge of the Earth (Armstrong Area) Grey Monk (Lake Country Area) Volcanic Hills (Kelowna Area - West Kelowna) Marichel (Naramata) JoieFarm (Naramata) Elephant Island (Naramata) Upper Bench (Penticton) Gehringer Brothers (Oliver) Oliver Twist (Oliver)
Honorable Mention: Hillside Winery in Naramata/Penticton Area. Excellent Bistro, just not many great whites this year.
Losers: Black Hills (Oliver) Summerhill Pyramid (Kelowna) Lake Breeze (Naramata) St. Hubertus and Oak Bay (Kelowna)
Please note that individual wines change from year to year and tastes are all at the discretion of the taster, so this list is bound to change from year to year. Perennial favorites are Grey Monk, Larch Hills and Edge of the Earth. Grey Monk is one of the first in the region, and ALWAYS has great whites! Larch Hills has one of the best Gewurtztraminers, but surprised us this year with a library of great whites that rivals even Grey Monk. EotE is small, but he cares very much about his wine and it shows. I'm glad I got the Argus this year (it was sold out last time). After this wine run, I'm sure we will be visiting the winners again.
