SueshiTravels to the Zagora Desert, Sahara Desert, in Morocco~!
Hi Everyone!
Welcome back to all those who are returning and welcome to all those who are new~
On November 23-24, 2019 my sister and I went to the Zagora Desert in Morocco (also known as the Sahara Desert) with Viator (not sponsored) for only $90/person!
Once my sister stated we will be going to Morocco, she told me something she REALLY wanted to do was to go camel back riding into the Sahara desert, glamping, and sleeping under the stars. Well, me, being the awesome big sister that loves to plan and look up great deals online; i stumbled upon this deal on viator where we can pay $60ish per person for basic camping with camel ride OR $80ish per person for glamping with camel ride with a private room. My sister and I thought, why not pay extra for better accommodation, and man, we are GRATEFUL that we did! Not only did we get a private room with an actual bed, but compared to the other travel companions who rode with us who slept on the floor in a six-people room, we had a totally better camping ground, better service, sand dunes experience and overall better quality of the trip (despite the long bus ride getting there as well as the poor communication we had for drop off, smh). On top of the camel ride, glamping, dinner, breakfast, sand dunes, night entertainment and showers that you see that we paid $20 extra for, the tours in ourazazate and kasbah ait ben haddou were also included (just pay for tip , lunch, as well as souvenir) - which i didn't think was bad at all.
Overall, my sister and I had an incredible time out in the desert and had loads of fun (2 days 1 night is definitely enough time in my opinion). Definitely worth the money. Do prepare yourself as the journey to the desert is incredibly long (8-10 hours) and can be painful just sitting on your butt the entire way. Same with the camel ride, definitely painful afterward as your posture can be affected (i didn't realize i was hunching over and my back ached the rest of the trip). Make sure you speak with your trip advisor to make sure you get picked up and dropped off in the place you agreed upon (if not, make sure you have data and CALL THEM)! If you want to take night pictures, learn how to do so beforehand as there is absolutely no signal once you really leave civilization (Marrakech) LOL. Also, if you plan to do what we did, make sure you prepare yourself for the morning hike to see the sunrise/sand dunes, as it was actually pretty laboring LOL (definitely not for those who are not able). Otherwise, I highly recommend this little excursion. If you do not book in advance, you can do so at your hostel, hotel, or riad so do not worry.
If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to let me know!~

Our Next Adventure - Glamping in the Sahara, Erg Chigaga Morocco
Amazing aerial video gives a sense of scale to Erg Chigaga in the Sahara Desert. We had this premium camp facility to ourselves. Our mistake was only booking one day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
???????? Morocco #2 | Marrakech to Sahara Desert
#Morocco #SaharaDesert #vlog
We travelled from Marrakech to Sahara desert on a 3 day tour. There are several tour organisers from private 4 wheel drives to group tours. The prices of the tours also varies from 100 euros to 500 euros per person. All the desert tour are quite standardised.
The desert tours include stay at the desert camp and a meal there. The overall quality of the camps in Merzouga desert is good.

The Taste of Sahara
A desert is much more than just sand or more precisely sand dunes but sand and sand dunes are the first thing we associate with a word desert and it is not surprising that when we want to see and feel the desert we want to visit sand dunes. Morocco is on the very doorstep of Sahara and the two most popular places to see the desert are Zagora and the place called Tinfou and Erfoud or Erg Chebbi, which lies between Erfoud and a village aptly and poetically named Merzouga.

HOW TO PLAN A DESERT TRIP IN MOROCCO
Picture yourself hundreds of feet high in the sand, atop a camel, surrounded by orange-red sand, while you watch the sun dip under a blue horizon. It’s so quiet you can hear only the thoughts bubble up in your head. At night, a sprinkling of stars illuminate the night sky so vibrantly, you don’t need a flashlight to see. You eat delicious, spiced food from steaming clay pots and sit around a camp fire with a glass of wine. What I just described isn’t heaven. It’s a trip to the Moroccan desert, and one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life. This guide will take you step by step to plan the perfect desert trip in Morocco.
WHY PLAN A TRIP TO THE MOROCCAN DESERT?
A desert trip to Morocco is one of my favorite experiences. I’ve never felt so at peace and enchanted by the natural surroundings. If you are the type of person that has trouble relaxing (me!), wants to see incredible dunes, diverse landscape, and escape the city life then going to the Moroccan desert is one of the best adventures you can have. After the Atlas mountains disappear over the horizon you’ll spot the golden sand of the desert, truly one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen in my life.
The Sahara desert dunes are shaped by the wind and are constantly changing to form new peaks and valleys. You’ll mix with the locals who are wrapped in white and blue headscarves as you’re whisked off into the sunset on a camel. If feels like a movie but it’s real life
WHICH DUNES SHOULD YOU VISIT IN MOROCCO?
The Sahara Ergs refer to the shifting dunes in the desert. There are two Saharan Ergs in Morocco: Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga. Both situated in the remote south/south eastern desert region of Saharan Morocco beyond the Atlas mountain range. We ventured to Erg Chebbi which we found to look more beautiful of the two areas

Back Home Where I've Never Been: Bryce Turner
there is a place, a desert place
where the moon shines like fire in the night
and the stars guide you home
A home you've never seen you've never been
it draws you in the dunes in the night
like something familiar to this place
you've never seen, you've never been
return, return, return, return return to me
This sea of endless dunes
and sensual curves
like a woman she cries out to me
come to me ringing in my ears
I taste it on my tongue
I feel it on my skin
and I see it in my eyes
it overwhelms
oh I'm on my knees
oh I'm on my knees
return return return return return to me
oh I seem to have lost control
my mind wanders to that place
I will return to you my endless dunes
return return return return return to me
