Saholan cave سهولان is located at 43 km of eastern area of Mahabad, between Mahabad - Boukan road.
Genetically, this cave is referred to the second geological era, namely Mesozoic, about 65 Ma. The name of this cave is adopted from the Persian language, Kurdish dialect SAHOL meaning Ice.

Quri Qale Cave غار قوري قلعه is a cave located northwest of Ravansar, Iran, and is one of the longest caves in western Asia.
First explored in the 1950s, in 1989 it was further opened by an Iranian team. It contains three main chambers, with calcite crystals, stalactites and waterfalls.
It is known for its colony of mouse ear bats, and for a number of archaeological finds, including silver plates dating the late Sassanian period دوره ساسانيان.
From the other side, Ghoori Ghale cave is located in the Kermanshah province near the Paveh city شهر پاوه.
It is the biggest water cave in the Middle East with 65 million years history! The length of the cave is 12 km and the depth of is water is 14 meter in some sections.
Unfortunately around 1.5 km of the cave is ready to VISIT and WALK and if you want to visit the 10.5km you need to have scuba diving facilities and it is not possible for ordinary visitors.
The cave has some big and nice halls and the weather of the cave is (7 to 11)°C centigrade degree in all seasons. Some people say that the end of the cave in under the city of Paveh.

Nakhcheer نخچير or Chal-Nakhjir چال نخجير is a cave situated in Markazi Province استان مركزي of Iran.
It is a limestone cave approximately 70 million years old. Parts of the cave including its internal lake have been prepared for easy tourist access. It was discovered in 1989 and registered as a national monument in 2001. Its interior is made of crystals, dolomite sediments, stalactites and stalagmites.

The Mahabad Republic lasted just 11 months before it was brutally crushed by the Iranian army. But the history of this short-lived state offers lessons and hope for the future should the Kurdish dream of independence be realised once again.

The Karaftu cave (Persian: کرفتو) is one of the important caves of Iran. It is situated in the Divandarreh Township (Shahrestan) of the Kordestan Province in the West of Iran.
The length of the cave is about 750 meters and it has 4 stories. This cave is a natural limy cave that was living place in different periods, so it is changed to somewhat, the most important feature of this cave is its cliff architecture:
It is dug on 4 floors in the mountain.
There is an inscription over the door on one of the rooms on the third floor that introduces this cave as Herakles temple.
You can visit this cave in 1 hour.
