Ride with me thru Crazy Saigon Traffic ????Motorbikes Today in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Travel 2017
Riding motorbikes in Saigon! I just love it. That feeling of being in a hot fumigated sea of motorbikes cruising like a school of fish thru the concrete jungle. So exotic, so interesting. All the colors, all the sounds, all the people. You see something new every minute:)
We cruise around the streets just showing a small peek of what it's like. Starting in District 1 and ride over the bridge near Bitexco Tower over to District 4 near our hotel / Airbnb. Crazy views from above as well. Quite the colorful urban neighborhood. Enjoy;)

SAIGON MOTORBIKE TOUR: Explore Ho Chi Minh City with Saigon on Motorbike!
EXPLORE SAIGON ON A MOTORBIKE
Vietnam and Saigon are all about motorbikes, so what better way to tour the city than on the back of one? We've been on many sightseeing tours before, but this has been one of the most fun and exciting so far.
For four hours, I rode with Saigon on Motorbike to experience some of the best Ho Chi Minh City has to offer. We had some tasty bun thit nuong and went to an interesting and unique cafe with ties to the Vietnam War. We rode through as many of Saigon's districts as we could, exploring interesting neighborhoods like the Cambodian market, Monument Park, and an historic apartment block building.
If you're looking for a fun way to experience Saigon, then you may want to check out this tour.

23 Things To Do In Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam

►FREE eBook:
When I was in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), along with eating as much Vietnamese food as I could, one of my goals was to film a travel video about some of the best things to do in Saigon. After putting together a complete list, it turned out to be 23, and I hope this list of attractions will help and inspire you to visit Vietnam’s largest and most exciting city.
1. Binh Tay Market - Binh Tay Market is one of the largest wholesale distribution markets, and a perfect place to go if you’re looking to go shopping in Ho Chi Minh City.
2. Thien Hau Temple (Pagoda) - Located in Chinatown, in District 5, the temple is dedicated to Thien Hau and I really loved the sculptures and the elaborate design of the temple.
3. Museum of Ho Chi Minh City - This museum offers a glimpse into the history and development of the city and Vietnam.
4. Bitexco Financial Tower - This is the tallest building in Saigon, and you can either go to the Skydeck or a cafe at the top for a view of the city.
5. Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) - Probably one of the most well known tourism things to do in Saigon is to visit the Independence Palace, the the former home of the president of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
6. Saigon Cathedral of Notre Dame - With the French influence in Vietnam, the Notre Dame cathedral is a beautiful Catholic church. Attend a service or just visit.
7. Central Post Office - Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City is an attraction mainly for its design and architecture. It’s a beautiful building.
8. War Remnants Museum - Although this is not one of the happiest attractions in Saigon, it’s a place to remember and honor the horrible events that are a result of a war.
9. Opera House - Right in Dong Khoi area, and there are still opera shows available.
10. Dong Khoi Street - This is the height of high end shopping in Saigon.
11. Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens - The zoo itself is not too great, but the beauty of the Saigon zoo is the botanical gardens, and the lush gardens, and taking a break from the city.
12. FITO Museum (Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine) - I was quite impressed by the Vietnamese medicine private museum - very interactive and educational.
13. San Art Laboratory – If you love modern art, the San Art Laboratory is a great place to see and visit in Saigon.
14. Turtle Lake at Night - If you’re looking for some things to do at night in Saigon, head to Turtle Lake to chill out, relax, hang out with friends, and eat snacks.
15. Ben Thanh Market - One of the most famous things to do in Saigon District 1 is visit the Ben Thanh Market, one of the major central landmarks of the city.
16. Phu My Hung and Starlight Bridge - Located outside of central Ho Chi Minh City, Phu My Hung is a modern development, and a great place to walk around.
17. Water Puppet Show - Though originally from the north of Vietnam, water puppet shows are popular also in Saigon. I went to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet theater.
18. Museum of Vietnamese History - Probably one of the most extensive and important museum showing the history of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City.
19. Rooftop Bar - Seeing Saigon from above offers a great perspective.
20. Fine Arts Museum - This was my favorite of all the museums in Saigon. The museum is housed in a well preserved building, and the art is amazing - located right in District 1 across the roundabout from Ben Thanh Market.
21. Jade Emperor Pagoda - Dedicated to the Jade Emperor, the pagoda has a real ancient feel to it, and it’s worth seeing when you visit.
22. Local Wet Market - One of my favorite things to do is visit a local fresh wet market, which you’ll find all over the city. The ingredients, food, and culture, all stand out at fresh markets.
23. Vietnamese Street Food - By my ultimate favorite activity in Saigon is eating street food, and there are an abundance of delicious Vietnamese street foods to sample.
Thank you for watching this video about the top 23 things to do in Saigon, Vietnam. I hope it has given you some great ideas to help you plan your visit.

HO CHI MINH CITY: Farewell Saigon! Observation deck, vietnamese food, temples and markets.
My last day in Ho Chi Minh City and my last day in Vietnam was a little sad. I have loved Saigon, but needed to complete things on my mental check-list - the Bitexco Financial Tower, observation deck markets, food and a temple.

Rush Hour Traffic with motorcycle in Ho Chi Minh city - Vietnam
Traffic jams in Vietnam only frequently take place in Hanoi capital and Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnamese people seem be accustomed to traffic congestion, even miss it whenever they go to other places.
There is no fixed rule for the time the traffic jams to happen but it is worst during the rush hour when everyone is in a hurry to get to work or come back home. Apart from peak hours, the time between 9 am to 10 am and between 3 pm to 4 pm also witnesses long lines of vehicles, mainly motorbikes, struggling to get out of narrow streets. Whenever it rains, the traffic jam gets more terrible with the joining hand of flooding. Taxis are extremely hard to catch or wave during the downpour. However, it only takes about 30 minutes on average for a standstill and 2 hours to get through the worst, not really bad compared to that of other countries.

Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnamese: Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh; About this sound listen, formerly named Saigon (Vietnamese: Sài Gòn; About this sound listen, French: Saïgon), is the largest city in Vietnam. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam from 1955--75. South Vietnam was a capitalist and anti-communist state which fought against the communist North Vietnamese and Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, with the assistance of the United States and other countries. On 30 April 1975, Saigon fell and the war ended with a Communist victory. On 2 July 1976, Saigon merged with the surrounding Gia Định Province and was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after Hồ Chí Minh (although the name Sài Gòn is still commonly used).[3]
The metropolitan area, which consists of the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area, Thủ Dầu Một, Dĩ An, Biên Hòa and surrounding towns, is populated by more than 9,000,000 people,[nb 1] making it the most populous metropolitan area[4] in Vietnam. The city's population is expected to grow to 13.9 million in 2025.[5]
The Ho Chi Minh City Metropolitan Area, a metropolitan area covering most parts of the Southeast region plus Tiền Giang Province and Long An Province under planning, will have an area of 30,000 square kilometres (11,583 sq mi) with a population of 20 million inhabitants by 2020.[6] According to the Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Economist Intelligence Unit and ECA International, Ho Chi Minh City is ranked 132 on the list of world's most expensive cities for expatriate employees.

First Time in VIETNAM - Exploring Ho Chi Minh City
We landed in bustling Ho Chi Minh City for our first time in Vietnam! We had a great time exploring Ho Chi Minh City and will be traveling Vietnam for the next 28 days. Without a real plan, we visited Ho Chi Minh Square to learn some history of Ho Chi Minh City. We also played frogger with the thousands of motorbikes trying to cross the streets, haha.
Our first stop after the 2 hour travel to Vietnam from Malaysia was Ho Chi Minh Square. We got stopped by some local Vietnamese scouts who tried to help teach us a Vietnamese language phrase. We sucked really badly but they were nice and persistent. Finally, Ryan spoke Vietnamese! Ho Chi Minh Square is located in District 1 Saigon which is right in the middle of the city. District 1 Ho Chi Minh City is also the main tourist hub in HCM, Vietnam.
We aren’t sure if it’s better to call the city Saigon Vietnam or Ho Chi Minh Vietnam, so please leave us a comment down below and let us know which one is correct! While walking the streets and exploring Ho Chi Minh City, we got thirsty and decided to try Vietnamese coffee for the first time. Stacia loved the Vietnamese coffee but since it’s 2x stronger than regular coffee she couldn’t finish the whole thing.
Before finding the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh, we decided we wanted to get a feel for local life in Saigon. We quickly saw that the traffic in Ho Chi Minh City is a BIG part of daily life so we decided to test our luck crossing the busy streets. I can’t put into words how busy the streets of Saigon are, so you’ll just have to watch the video to see for yourself. It was a true frogger moment!
Being Americans in Vietnam, we are very interested in the war history of the Vietnam War. We were told there is an American War museum we need to check out which we will do off camera to spare sharing some deep emotional stuff with you guys. There are so many things to do in Saigon we can’t wait to explore the city for the month! If you have any suggestions for things to do in Vietnam, please leave a comment down below.
We have uploaded Vietnamese subtitles for any of you who would like to read in Vietnamese. We hope to hear from you guys in the comments and thanks for watching our first Vietnam travel vlog!
