Saiki City in Oita Prefecture – Home to delicious seafood and cat island Fukashima
Saiki City, in Oita Prefecture, is located on Japan's southern island of Kyushu, about 780 km south-west of Tokyo, and 150km east of Fukuoka City. It is the fifth largest city by population and the largest city by area in Kyushu located in the eastern prefecture of Oita, and the centre of the south-east region of Oita. Saiki is pleasantly located on Saiki bay, part of the Bungo Channel that feeds the Inland Sea of Japan (Setonaikai). Situated on the coastline, Saiki experiences mild weather all year round, due to the influence of the warm currents along the Bungo Channel. Rainfall is most prevalent from June to early July, and the chance of snow is limited. Due to is close proximity to the sea, Saiki City is famous for delicious seafood and beautiful coast lines. Chien Chien from Taiwan will take you on a tour through Saiki city and show you famous places like Nishi Sushi Restaurant and Oita’s cat island Fukushima.

Saiki City – Beautiful countryside and homestay in rural Japan
Green Tourism is a rising phenomenon in Japan. It’s a way for locals to connect with visitors who want to know what it’s like living off of fresh farmlands in the beautiful countryside of Japan. It’s also a great way to get outdoors and discover new passions or interests that you may have never known about before. This time we visited Saiki City, located in the southeastern part of Oita Prefecture, on Kyushu Island. It is the largest city by area in all of Kyushu. The topography of Saiki can be broken into three main areas: the mountainous area from the Kyushu mountain region; the plains area which extends across the lower reaches of the Banjo River; and the coastline area.
This natural geography has given rise to forestry exploiting the bountiful forest resources, agriculture utilizing a temperate climate, and a fishing industry that reaps the bounty of the Bungo Channel. Saiki proudly uses fresh seafood in its local cuisine. The Sushi Association of Saiki is promoting Saiki sushi, the best in the world.

Trip to Kumamoto in Japan
Kumamoto City, situated roughly in the center of Kumamoto Prefecture, is the government and economic center of the prefecture. It has a population of over 730,000 and holds the largest-scale shopping arcade in western Japan. With a length of over 1 kilometer, the arcade is located at the foot of Kumamoto Castle in the city center. In the shopping arcade, there is a wide variety of shops, such as department stores, electronic shops, drugstores, and boutiques. There are also a variety of restaurants and bars where tourists can enjoy local delicacies.
The area is also rich in history, with sites such as Kumamoto Castle, built over 400 years ago and considered one of the three most magnificent castles in Japan. On top of everything else, Kumamoto is blessed with abundant hot springs.
As you can see, Kumamoto is filled with invaluable historical heritage, unique culture, magnificent nature, and refreshing hot springs, as well as outstanding food.
The city is only a 40min Shinkansen Bullet Train ride away from Fukuoka and you can spend there the whole day experiencing various things.
Nita and Sam from Feel Fukuoka will show you in this video some of the things you can do in Kumamoto City.

Taketa City in Oita Prefecture
Have you ever heard of Taketa City in Oita Prefecture? If you are looking for something different from artificial tourist attractions, Taketa is a place for you to go. It takes about 150min by car from Hakata Station to get there. Taketa is abundant in amazing landscapes. For example, the Kuju Highland is breathtakingly beautiful especially when you go off the main roads. Furthermore, the ruins of Oka Castle are famous all over Japan. The castle`s main structures were torn down due to the Meiji restoration. Its grand stone walls which still stand there were built with astonishing technique, making the castle ruins outstanding up to today. From the 325m high plateau near the castle, you can get a spectacular view. Once a year, Chikuraku (Taketa Bamboo Lantern Festival) is held. More than 20,000 lanterns create a romantic and kind of mysterious atmosphere. A unique festival you shouldn`t miss. Taketa also has Onsen to offer. Nagayu Hot Spring are highly carbonated and popular.

WORLD CRUISE LIFE - Trip to Oita Japan 2012 - HD
WORLD CRUISE LIFE
WORLD CRUISE LIFE - Trip to Oita Japan 2012 - HD
Running in Kyushu, Japan. 佐伯市 大分 九州 日本
This is my running route where I stay when I am in Japan. It's just over 4km each way with steep hill climb in last leg of the run.
The route is located 30 min drive south of Saiki City, Oita on the southern Island of Kyushu. The run takes me from the house to a local marine centre and back.
You might notice me looking up at the cliff edges as I run under them, this is due to alot of rock fall from above and the last thing I want is to be struck with one of them.
Video was shot at the end of December 2016 when the temperature was mild, I have ran this in the summer and if you know a Japanese summer in the south Island it can be very humid.
Soundtrack is Triple J // Mix Up Exclusives: GANZ - 16 December 2014
I don't own any rights to the music in this video.

Shikanoshima - Small Island located just at the shoe of the Hakata Bay
Shikanoshima Island, actually connected to Hakata by a land bridge, enjoys great accessibility including a roughly 30-minute ride on the Municipal Ferry from Hakata Warf, or a roughly 40-minute ride by car or on the Nishitetsu Bus from Tenjin in the city center. We recommend touring the island by rental bicycle due to the 12 kilometer circumference and the relative lack of ups and downs along the route. Come and feel the refreshing breeze on your face as you enjoy a lovely holiday away from the hustle of everyday life.
