Bermuda Visit - St George's, Bermuda
Visiting St. George's by cruise ship is a real treat and very rare. Only a handful of ships dock each year. Because of the narrow entrance, only very few cruise ship can clear the entrance and dock in St. George's. The town of St George Bermuda features a beautiful bay filled with clear turquoise waters which makes a great backdrop against the picturesque homes lining the bay.
If you are lucky enough to visit St. George's make sure to check out St. Peter's Church. A visit inside the church will surprise you. At the back of the church is the cemetery with many old and historic headstones.
St. George's is a small town with a lot of history and some great shops. Well worth exploring.

Bermuda Vacation 1952 ~ Sound Cruise with Seaplane & Flying Boat Sighting
Transfer from 16mm film - great color...
from the deck of the Queen of Bermuda, views of Hamilton Harbor and White's Island. Albouy's point with tender Wilhelmina and ferry Coralita at dock, ferry terminal and old Bank of Bermuda building.
On the water in Hamilton Harbor, Old Bermudiana Hotel, Barrs Bay park, residence Scarborough where the Bermuda Fire and Marine insurance building is now. A row of houses to Waterloo House (all razed except Overbay I believe). The Hamilton Princess Hotel, Luscombe float-plane maneuvers and take off.
Over to the Paget shoreline, the old inverurie Hotel past the Navel Air Station (NAS Bermuda) with a Martin flying boat on tarmac and a glimpse of one in the air. Past Gibbs Hill Lighthouse in Southampton - look at the open space! - Across the sound and then follows a Luder sailboat race back towards Hamilton.
Bermuda Vacation 1959 ~ Elbow Beach Mopeds & Steel Drums, Flying Boat's and a Food Truck!
A 1959 Bermuda stay at the Elbow Beach Hotel - Renting Mopeds and a practice ride - no helmets. There are some great mopeds scattered throughout this film. Wobbling and waving on a very empty Harbor Road, a quick stop to enjoy the windy views.
Cocktails at the bar inside Elbow Beach and a quick stop at the pool. A parking lot full of mopeds - with a sporty helmet - then a shot of The Waterfront restaurant on East Broadway.
A stop at the dock looking out at Pomander road and a green Trimingham Hill. Then we are on a green lawn at the back of town? looking towards the Anglican Cathedral (any idea where?). Back on the bike, then sporting Bermuda Shorts walking by the guard house..
A quick stormy stop at the pool then it looks like friends are dressed with luggage packed.
A Steel Drum Band plays outside (any idea?) then its Hamilton outside the Bermuda Pharmacy at the Russell Eve building.
Enjoying a cool soda or mineral on Pitts Bay Road, at a really clean lunch cart! Wooden Coca Cola crates on the back. Off on a Chris Craft cruise, past the old Miles complex and the Hamilton Princess, the old Belmont Hotel and waterfront houses including one with a personal water catch (any idea?). Past NOB, flying boats on dock and close pass of a flying boat on the move.
A pass under Somerset bridge takes us to the wreck of the Vixen and it looks like a cooler of swizzle may be the refreshment on the trip home which also passes the figurehead Neptune when it was parked at Admiralty House.
A wave goodbye at the Bermuda Air Terminal before boarding an Eastern Airlines aircraft, some aerial footage at the end.

SUMMARY
=======
Bermuda () is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 1,070 km (665 mi) east-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina; 1,236 km (768 mi) south of Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia; and 1,759 km (1,093 mi) north of Cuba. The capital city is Hamilton. Bermuda is self-governing, with its own constitution and its own government, which enacts local laws, while the United Kingdom retains responsibility for defence and foreign relations.
Bermuda's two largest economic sectors are offshore insurance and reinsurance, and tourism. Bermuda had one of the world's highest GDP per capita for most of the 20th century. The island has a subtropical climate and lies in the hurricane belt and thus is prone to related severe weather; however, it is somewhat protected by a coral reef that surrounds the island and its position at the north of the belt, which limits the direction and severity of approaching storms.
