Vanishing Rock is situated on the eastern side of Salt Island, having the Cooper Island on the right side.
Located near one of the most famous diving site in BVI, the RMS Rhone, Vanishing Rock is a shallow coral reef that is home to some colorful and interesting wildlife, like anemones, shrimps, squirrelfish, grunts, sergeant majors, green moray eels, lobsters and nurse sharks. Gorgonians and colorful sponges coat the rocky topography and the sandy bottom, creating a very picturesque sight. In the deeper waters you’ll find Sergeant Major City and if you go even further you will be witnessing Sergeant Major Suburbs; both these pillar coral architectures are boasting with marine creatures so make sure to check them out.

On the lee side of Norman Island is a spectacular rocky maze of canyons and ridges that finger off into the sandy bottom.
Large sharks have been spotted here, as have sleeping Nurse Sharks, large green eels and green turtles. There are lobster here that are so big, you’ll be reluctant to get too close! On the smaller side, tiny crabs, baby eels and stealth shrimp can be found living in the many anemones.

Scuba diving at British Virgin Islands - 2017/01/27
This time we went to explore two shipwreck parks located on British Virgin Islands. The first dive site was the RMS Rhone. This wreck is located at a depth of 45-50ft, between Peter Island and Salt Island. History says the ship was wrecked on 1867 by a hurricane, killing 123 people.
The second dive site is Wreck Alley, located 88ft deep, on the south-west side of Copper Island. This area is composed of multiple shipwrecks (Marie L, Beata and Pat), that were sunk intentionally to create underwater attractions for divers.

The remarkable marine life of the British Virgin Islands
Every time we visit the BVI's we are astounded by the variety of marine life. Every island is different each time. The colours are amazing, but you can only see them if you add a red filter and/or use a dive light. This was shot all over the BVI, including White Bay, JVD, Peter Island, Deadman's Chest (Painted Walls), Norman Island (Angelfish Reef & The Indians), the Chimneys and more..
BVI's 2016 part 1
This is part 1 (the first 4 days) of our sailing trip through the British Virgin Islands in June of 2016. We departed from Conch Charter's in Road Town, Tortola and sailed to Cooper Island, dove the RMS Rhone, explored Salt Island, sailed into Savannah Bay where we anchored for a night, visited the Baths, stopped for a night at Saba Rock.
Watch for part 2 and pick up where we left off sailing out of North Sound and on to Anegada, Sandy Cay, Great Harbor (Foxys), White Bay (Soggy Dollar), Cane Garden Bay, through the pass at the West End where we had heavy seas, diving at The Caves, and our last night moored at Norman Island.
Please give a thumbs up if you enjoy the video and leave a comment.
Thanks!

#1 Caribbean Destination: British Virgin Islands
Diving the British Virgin Islands
The British Virgin Islands has been well-recognised as a yachting hub in the region, often overshadowing the thriving dive market. The reefs are among some of the cleanest despite the heavy boat traffic and visibility is superb. Don't expect dive sites deeper than 90 feet but do expect to visit some world-famous wrecks like the RMS Rhone and many picture-perfect reefscapes. Nature's Little Secrets are definitely worth revealing...big time!
