I know it has been some time from my last video
roughly 1895 hours!
so what happened?
let me tell you.
how do you measure success?
But mostly ...
how do you measure failure?
you surely cannot measure it with a
ruler or by points, votes or Facebook Likes.
So at which point is failure a failre?
I mean how do you know when it's time to throw the towel and give up?
There comes a point in life when you find yourself laminating the floor of a
fair-stand in Germany.
But let's start from the beginning ...
do you know when you dream big
and work hard to achieve something you believe it's in your grasp
you invest all your time energy and passion and eventually ...
start believing you're getting somewhere.
But life is not like a box of chocolate!
Some months ago, roughly around the end of October, I decided I was going to try
something new
something revolutionary
something that had never been done before
I was going to hike the entire island of Gozo
which for who doesn't know yet, it's here, between Sicily and Africa,
a stone throw away from the sister island of Malta.
The plan was simple
I was going
to tour the island of Gozo in an anti-clockwise fashion
exploring the territory coast to coast
in and out, left, right and centre
passing through cliffs
highlands, towns, beaches and eerie abandoned places.
With little regard for my life,
I was going to brave the winter weather
confronting wild animals and treacherous paths
sleeping in tents or pampering myself
in some of the most charming accommodations on the island
and so I did!
Welcome to Gozo! it's so strange ... I mean I just went there
to Malta and back ... but it feels like I just arrived and it's the beginning of a
New Adventure!
the first episode of the Gozo Grand Tour has reached an end
the adventure will continue in the next video
in the meantime, please spread the word

Xatt L-Ahmar & Mgarr Harbour Coastine - Information on Gozo Malta
Mgarr is known as the gateway to Gozo. The harbour is dominated by a neo-gothic monument, the Lourdes Church built in 1888. Some years earlier, a visitor to the area remarked that the rocks of the hill where the church now stands, resembled those of the Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes, France. A statue of Our Lady of Lourdes soon appeared in the rocks. Soon after WW2 ended a marble altar was added to the imposing church. From here there are commanding views of the harbour. To the left of the church is Fort Chambrai, designed by military engineer de Tigne in 1723. Work was started only in 1749 by the Knight de Chambrai, who was later to become Commander of the Galleys and then Governor of Gozo. This was the last fortification built by the Knights, and the only active service it saw was during the resistance to the French occupation of the islands in 1798. Fort Chambrai never became a city.
