THE BEST SUNSET DINNER CRUISE in LAHAINA, MAUI, HAWAII
This short video is Part 8 of our 15 days (10-25 Oct 2018) holiday in United States as our Honeymoon of our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
This Sunset Dinner Cruise depart from Lahaina Harbor at 5:30 pm. We sit in the open-air on the top-deck, so we can see the really beautiful view of the sunset, Lahaina City and also the beautiful Maui Mountains. The sunsets are really spectacular.
The cruise last for 2,5 hours, we returned to Lahaina at around 8:00 pm.
Really, this is our Romantic Evening in Maui.
The food is OK, especially the Roasted Prime Rib.
Once again, we should say that it is really a beautiful Sunset Dinner Cruise. It seems that we did not wrong to choose this attraction as a honeymoon to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Thanks God.......
Lahaina Maui Hawaii Tender Boat to shore. Visiting Lahaina via Cruise Ship
Getting to shore at Lahaina Maui while on a Hawaiian cruise is easy. Most cruise ships use a tender ticket system to manage the rush of people trying to make their way ashore. The Celebrity Solstice hands out the free tickets and then calls out the numbers.
People with early excursions are allowed off the boat first and then people just going ashore can board the tender boats. Each Tender is rated for 120 people in an emergency but for regular tender duty they load them with about 100 passengers.
Lahaina Maui is one of the most popular ports on any Hawaiian cruise. Maui has a cruise port on the north side of the island but it's about 24 miles away from Lahaina and it's in an industrial area.
This video is an original work created from video and photos I took in Maui Hawaii. The graphics, titles and special effects were created on my computer.

walking through the Lahaina Harbor waterfront area in downtown Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii
This shows a good part of the area surrounding the Lahaina Harbor waterfront area as we walked through it on January 13, 2017. There were lots of boats and lines of people waiting to do various activities. Lively area worth visiting in my opinion.

Places to see in ( Maui - USA ) Lahaina
Lāhainā is the largest census-designated place in West Maui, Maui County, Hawaii, United States, and includes the Ka'anapali and Kapalua beach resorts. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a resident population of 11,704. Lahaina encompasses the coast along Hawaii Route 30 from a tunnel at the south end, through Olowalu, and to the CDP of Napili-Honokowai to the north. During the tourist season, the population can swell to nearly 40,000 people.
There are many different climates in the different districts of Lahaina. The historic district is the driest and calmest and hosts the small boat harbor. Kaanapali is north of a wind line and has double the annual rainfall and frequent breezes. The Kapalua and Napili areas have almost four times the annual rainfall compared to the historic district of Lahaina. The historic district has preserved 60 historic sites within a small area and they are managed by the Lahaina Restoration.
Lahaina was the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii from 1820 to 1845, when the capital was moved back to Honolulu. In the 19th century, Lahaina was the center of the global whaling industry, with many sailing ships anchoring at its waterfront; today pleasure craft make their home there. Lahaina's Front Street has been ranked one of the Top Ten Greatest Streets by the American Planning Association. Lahaina's popularity as a tropical getaway has made its real estate some of the most expensive in Hawaii; many luxury homes and condos are sold for more than $2 million there.
600 block of Front Street is home to the largest Banyan Tree in the United States. There was a ceremony when the tree was planted in 1873 and the history is displayed on a plaque under the tree. The huge West Maui mountains have beautiful valleys visible from the historic district of Lahaina. The valleys are the backdrop for the 5 o'clock rainbow that happens almost every day. In 1831 a fort was built for defense, and the reconstructed remains of its 20-foot (6.1 m) walls and original cannons can still be seen. Also near the small boat harbor are the historic Pioneer Inn and the Baldwin House museum in the historic district of Lahaina.
Hale Paʻi is the site of Hawaii's first printing press, including Hawaii's first paper currency, printed in 1843. The Plantation Course at Kapalua hosts the PGA Tour's Hyundai Tournament of Champions every January. The many restaurants along Front Street offer a broad variety of food and entertainment, making it the hub of West Maui's night life. A variety of shops and galleries line both sides of the oceanfront Front street.
Carthaginian II was a museum ship moored in the harbor of this former whaling port. Built in 1920 and brought to Maui in 1973, it served as a whaling museum until 2005, and after being sunk in 95 feet (29 m) of water about 1⁄2-mile (0.80 km) offshore to create an artificial reef, now serves as a diving destination. It replaced an earlier replica of a whaler, Carthaginian, which had been converted in 1966 to film scenes for the 1966 movie Hawaii. Halloween is a major celebration in Lahaina and has become a signature event in the past decades, with crowds averaging between 20,000 and 30,000.

The pier was destroyed in 1992 by Tropical Storm Iniki which developed into a hurricane the next day and hit Kaua'i on September 11, 1992.
Heavy surf and strong winds never made it a good location for a pier as it was intended for steamships when it was built in 1922.
It's a very good snorkeling and diving location, but be aware of strong currents and the occasional sharks, mostly white tipped reef sharks.

Leaving Maui, HI on the Grand Princess Cruise ship - Nov 3-18, 2019
Here was our view as the Grand Princess Cruise Ship left Maui in November 2019. It did not rain while we were there, but looked like it may have after we left.
One of the best cruises we've ever taken. It was out of San Francisco for 15 days to Hawaii and Ensenada. Fabulous weather to boot!
The shops right off the pier in Maui are just adorable and so much in that general area to do, lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment right as you get off the tender from the ship. We were not in port long enough to rent a car or do much exploring, but we were not disappointed in what we did get to see.

The island of Maui in the Hawaiian Islands is one of our all time favorite places to go. But we're Mountain Beaches so why not? We love the Maui beaches, the sun, the air, and the Polynesian lifestyle. On this maui vlog we went on a sunset sail cruise with the Teralani sunset dinner sail. Teralani sailing on the T4 was amazing. The catamaran was brand new and the crew fantastic. We did whale watching for humpback whales as we sailed just off this island of Maui Hawaii.

Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise - Hawaii Ocean Project
Departing daily from Lahaina Harbor in west Maui, enjoy a romantic evening on the ocean during a Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise from Hawaii Ocean Project:
Hop aboard the Maui Princess, a 120 foot sailing yacht with an upper and lower deck, oceanfront seating, full table service, island-inspired cocktails, live music entertainment, dancing and more for an evening you won’t soon forget. One of Maui’s most spacious and cozy touring yachts, you’ll set sail around the western shoreline just in time to witness a magical Maui sunset. In the months of December to April, this experience also doubles as a great whale watching experience, as humpback whales often come to the shallow channel between west Maui and the neighbor island of Lana’i to swim and give birth in the shallow, tropical waters surrounding the islands.
Once aboard, guests of this highly recommended sunset cruise will be treated to a full three course meal of carved prime rib, roasted chicken, macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi or vegetarian meatballs, with side dishes like salad, new potatoes, carrots and rolls, as well as a selection of cocktails like mai tais, strawberry lava flows, Maui Brewing Co. beers, wine, sodas, juices and water. For dessert, a slice of delectable cheesecake is served. Table service makes it easy to sit back, relax and enjoy the views, and entertainment from a rotating list of popular local musicians makes it even more memorable.
This experience is open to guests of all ages, and lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours with an approximate return time of 8pm. Upper deck seating and plentiful tables are guaranteed for all passengers, and it’s recommended to arrive for check-in by 4:45 to 5pm. We also recommend bringing a light jacket and any necessary seasickness medication, as well as your camera! Three alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price, and any additional drinks may be purchased for $4 to $6. For more information or to reserve your spot, call 877-500-6284.
