단양팔경 제4경 사인암-Sainam Rock, Danyang, Korea
고려 때 유학자인 역동(易東) 우탁(禹倬) 선생의 행적 때문에 지어진 이름이다. 당시 우탁은 임금을 보필하는 직책인 정 4품 ''사인(舍人)''이라는 벼슬을 지냈고 이후 그의 고향인 단양 땅으로 낙향하여 이곳에 머물며 후학을 가르쳤다. 이런 연유로 인해 조선 성종 때 단양 군수가 우탁 선생을 기리기 위해 이 바위를 사인암이라 지었다고 전해진다.
Sainam Rock, located in Sainam-ri, Daegang-myeon, is one of eight scenic areas in Danyang, and is located in the southeast side of Danyang-gun, along with Sangseonam Rock, Jungseonam Rock, and Haseonam Rock of Seonam Valley.
The Sainam Rock is a rugged outcropping with an inspiring height of 70 meters, and the deep blue Namjocheon Stream passes in front of it, located in the southern part of Danyang-gun.

Video of Sobaeksan (Sobaek Mountains) National Park climbing locating in Danyang-gun(county), Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. Starting from Cheondong Valley, reached at Birobong Peak and went down to Euigok. Total estimate time was approx. 6 hours.
Bus from Danyang-eup, got off at Darian Touristic Area. It took me about 3 hrs and a half to reach Birobong Peak watching fall foliages, squirrels and birds. It's not steep. But, from the middle point to top area, there's a contineous bumpy way. Beginners would better take a break before getting tired. The top area is a flat land with a yew colony and easy to climb. Birobong was under renovation for an observation deck. The way to go down was for Euigok and it took about 2 hrs and a half.

[TRIPofJHL] 소백산 비로봉 등반 영상...
대한민국의 충청북도 단양군에 위치한 소백산 국립공원 등반 영상. 천동계곡코스 부터 시작하여 비로봉을 오르고, 어의곡코스로 하산하였다. 소요시간은 약 6시간.
단양읍에서 버스를 타고 다리안유원지에서 하차. 다리안폭포 구경 후 입산. 빨갛게 물든 단풍잎들을 밟으며, 다람쥐, 새들을 감상하며 약 3시간반 후 비로봉 도착. 경사는 심하지 않지만 중반부터는 자갈길이 계속되어 초보자는 어느정도 쉬어가는 것도 좋다. 정상부근에는 고위평탄면이 넓게 펼쳐져, 천연기념물인 주목군락을 편하게 감상하면서 오를 수 있다. 비로봉은 관람대 공사중이다. 하산할 때에는 어의곡 방면으로 2시간반 걸려 내려왔다.

Dodamsambong are three stone peaks rising out of the Namhangang River. The big rock is called Janggunbong (Husband Rock), the rock on the left side which appears to be showing coquetry is called Cheopbong (Mistress Rock), and the rock on the right side which is turning away from the big rock is called Cheobong (Wife Rock). The peaks are said to represent an angry wife turning away from her husband who has taken a concubine in order to secure a male heir. It is said that Jeong Do-jeon, a politician who made contributions to the establishment of the Joseon Dynasty, spent his young days here and used 'Sambong' as his pen name.
Surrounding the three peaks is a musical fountain which was set up in 1998. The fountain becomes a place for tourists to relax, especially during the nighttime, when watching the water cascade and flow in time with the music is a thing of beauty.

Kim Hong-do (pen-name: Danwon), a great painter of the Joseon Dynasty, took over one year to paint this beautiful scene, despite his heavenly talent. The scene is Sainam Rock (Scenic Site No. 47), which Kim Jeong-hui (pen-name: Chusa) praised as an astonishing picture created by God. Sainam is the fifth of the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang. Kim Hong-do also produced diverse true-view landscape paintings of the Dodamsambong Peaks (the first scenic view of Danyang, Scenic Site No. 44) and Oksunbong Peak (the fourth scenic view of Danyang). Let's admire the magnificent scenery that led Kim Hong-do to lose himself in this wonderful piece of true-view landscape painting.
