Bell Ringing at St George's Memorial Church, Ypres
The bells at St George's where recently installed in order to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, in which many bell ringers died. We were invited to ring there as part of a team of 8 people representing the Canterbury District of the KCACR, on Sunday the 22nd of October 2017, the day of the bells' dedication service.
They are light 8 (so that they can fit in the small tower), with the tenor weighing 6-1-11. They go remarkably well, and were a pleasure to ring on.
The first lot of ringing shown was Grandsire Triples, and the second was most of the first lead of some Cambridge Major, filmed from the church hall garden.

The new peal of eight for St George, Ypres
I was lucky enough to be invited to help with the swing time analysis at the bellfoundry on the new eight for Ypres, Belgium. Here are all eight on the test rigg at the bellfoundry, with some of the bells being rung for the first time. They are certainly going to be a stunning little eight.
