LYRICS -- Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Come thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
I'll praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of thy redeeming love
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by thy help I come
And I hope by thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wondering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above
LYRICS -- If You Could Hie to Kolob
1. If you could hie to Kolob
In the twinkling of an eye,
And then continue onward
With that same speed to fly,
Do you think that you could ever,
Through all eternity,
Find out the generation
Where Gods began to be?
2. Or see the grand beginning,
Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation,
Where Gods and matter end?
Methinks the Spirit whispers,
No man has found 'pure space,'
Nor seen the outside curtains,
Where nothing has a place.
Groom moved to tears by surprise ‘Stand By Me’ wedding song
An Irish wedding ceremony took a turn for the emotional when guests surprised the bride and groom with a moving choral performance of “Stand by Me.”
Unbeknownst to bride and groom Rachel and Shane McNally, friend Hannah O’Brien had been hard at work training friends and family (from both sides) to sing together in beautiful harmony at the ceremony on August 3. Even the bride’s father joined the performance.
Wedding videographer Ray Yore captured this video of the performance as it unfolded in St Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross. He told Storyful that he’d been told it would happen at some point in the ceremony, but he didn’t know when.
“It was an awesome surprise and moved everyone to tears,” he said, adding that “it was a beautiful tribute to the bride and groom.”
“Stand by Me” was first recorded in 1960 by Ben E. King, who wrote it with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
Toddler interrupts the wedding vows by tugging on groom’s arm to say he ‘needs a poo’ – leaving guests in hysterics:

Saint Polydore Plasden, English Martyr (FILL FILM), priest of Tyburn
English Martyr, Catholic priest, Polydore Plasden, who was hanged at Tyburn aged 28 by order of Queen Elizabeth I for his Catholic priesthood, tells his story in this 30 minute film that has been broadcast on EWTN.
Enter the Elizabethan world where the Catholic Mass and Catholic priesthood are outlawed, where it is illegal to carry rosary beads of even light devotional candles; where every citizen must attend the State Anglican services by law.
Saint Polydore was born in London and was called to the Catholic priesthood. He travelled secretly abroad to be trained and soon returned home to bring the illegal Sacraments to the persecuted Elizabethan people. Hunted by the government, Saint Polydore managed to elude authorities until the infamous priest hunter Richard Topcliffe caught up to him and fellow priest Saint Edmund Gennings in the home of Saint Swithun Wells.
Tortured and imprisoned in the Tower of London for refusing to deny the Catholic Faith, as well as for defending and protecting the Blessed Sacrament, Saint Polydore was hanged at Tyburn and is one of the 40 Martyrs of England and Wales.
This film is part our our 'Three Martyrs Trilogy' of films which should be enjoyed with 'Saint Edmund Gennings' and 'Saint Swithun Wells'.
We are a Catholic DVD apostolate and
This original film was produced in 2010 alongside two other films of Martyrs whose lives were intricately linked to his, St. Edmund Gennings and St. Swithun Wells.
Polydore Plasden was the son of a musical instrument maker in London where customers to his father’s shop might have included William Byrd. He left England in secret to train to be a Catholic priest, returned on the English mission and was arrested while celebrating the outlawed Mass in the home of St. Swithun Wells. He defended every particle of the Eucharist from priest hunter Richard Topcliffe, promising to surrender his life if Mass was permitted to conclude.
Tortured at the Tower of London, Fr. Polydore was executed at Tyburn in 1591, permitted to hang until dead due to the intercession of Sir Walter Raleigh and is one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales. Get to know his life and witness and share his story with others through this creative presentation.
A careful combination of historical imagery, paintings, footage and costumed visuals make this an original and creative way to learn the biography of St. Polydore Plasden with visual aids to help the narrative flow.
What you will hear:
The life of St. Polydore Plasden in a narrative for the whole length of the film told from his own point of view. He will tell you his story. Original music to accompany the narrative.
What you will see:
Historical images, maps, footage of jousting and Elizabethan life; sacred art, devotional art; paintings of the Mass and Eucharist; simple costumed visuals of St. Polydore Plasden, Richard Topcliffe, fellow Martyrs, the Secret Mass and the Tyburn gallows to help aid the narrative.
Length:
The film runs for 30 minutes.
Target Audience:
The film is suitable for all ages, aimed mainly at Catholics with an understanding of the Faith and an appreciation for the spiritual life.

IGA Saint-Lambert Boycott (June 28, 2013)
Today, I showed my support for a 17 year old girl who was bullied by 2 managers at her workplace, for speaking English in the break-room. She was brave enough to have recorded the entire conversation and then went to the news with it! Meaghan, THANK YOU!

All she wanted was a part-time job, but what a South Shore teenager got was a hard lesson about language in Quebec.
Meaghan Moran, 17, got a job working at an IGA on Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Blvd. in Saint-Lambert. She was told that she didn't have the right to speak English at the store.
A fluently bilingual Anglophone, she told CTV Montreal she picked up on some language tension one day.
One of the guys I was working with is English and I knew him and he said, 'No, talk to me in French because we're not allowed speaking English on the floor, she said, adding that she quickly heard what her friend and ex-employee Alex Caldwell knew: employees don't feel comfortable speaking English anywhere in the store.
I was warned by a friend in the lunchroom to watch what I say and keep my English down, because the management didn't like it and she got a warning, said Caldwell.
That didn't sit well with Moran.
It's just about the principle. You should be able to speak whatever you like. I understand if they want to impose (some rules) -- I'm not going to talk to clients in English, I would talk to them in French -- but if I want to talk to my friend on my break in English, I should be allowed, she said. It's becoming too restrictive.
Store owner Louise Menard, who also owns other IGAs, refused an on-camera interview, but explained her reasoning in a phone interview. She said she thinks that when employees speak their own languages amongst themselves, whether it's English, Russian or Spanish, even on their own time in the staffroom, it creates tension and misunderstandings in the workplace.
Menard did emphasize that speaking only French in her establishments is not required, rather it's requested.
That isn't what some employees at her Saint-Lambert store are told, however.
When Moran decided to quit, she recorded her conversation with two superiors.
If we permit languages other than french to be spoken, what will happen in the employees' room? We'll have a ghetto. We'll have a small group of Spanish, a small group of English, said one supervisor.
Moran said she was told workers had the right to speak English in the employees' room.
The supervisor replied, On the employer's property, even in the employees' room, it should be in French.

Holy Cross Catholic Church - Final Rendition
Published on Sep 18, 2018
Following is a brief history of the parish from the 1988 publication prepared for the 150th Anniversary of the parish:
In December 1818, Father Anssant was sent from France to assist Père Jean-Mandé Sigogne, the pastor of Paroisse Sainte-Marie in Church Point. Father Anssant was given charge of two missions: Saint-Mandé (Meteghan) and Sainte-Croix (Holy Cross, Plympton). At the time, the Catholic mission of Sainte-Croix (Holy Cross) in Plympton covered the town of Digby, Bear River, Digby Neck and the Islands to the east, and to the west, as well as Corberrie, Weymouth and parts (east) of Saint Bernard.
Father Anssant administered baptism in Plympton for the first time on January 14th, 1838, to Suzanne-Henriette Comeau, born the same day. Suzanne was the daughter of Olivier Comeau and Françoise Thibault.
At this time (1838), the first chapel was built at Holy Cross and it stood where the present cemetery calvary scene stands now. Oral tradition has it that the land for the chapel was donated by Bénoni-Henri Melanson and that this first chapel was built by Mathias Melanson. By 1868, Saint-Bernard had become a parish in its own right and Holy Cross became a mission served by the pastor of Saint-Bernard.
In 1881, construction began on a new church to replace the chapel. The Stations of the Cross were erected in 1890 to coincide with the completion of the new church. Construction on the rectory began in 1891 and was ready for the arrival of the new resident pastor, Father Louis Decheneau, in 1892.
Between 1818 and 1909, Holy Cross Parish was served by priests from away: from France, English-speaking priests of mostly Irish origin and French-Canadians from the province of Québec. In 1909 Holy Cross parish was finally able to welcome one of its own sons, Father P. Thibault, who remained pastor until 1923. During Father Thibault’s tenure, a mission church was built in Doucetteville. Father Thibault was followed by Father Michael Doucet (1923-1929) and Father Luc Gaudet (1929-1943). {More about the pastors serving Holy Cross Parish}
It fell upon Father Luc Gaudet to rebuild the church and rectory after the disastrous fire of June 3, 1938 destroyed the church, the rectory, the parish hall and three outbuildings in the space of an hour and a half. As reported in a local newspaper at the time:
“…Father Luc Gaudet, parish priest, told the press he was eating his dinner when he was told the church was on fire.Entering the building, he found the flames coming through the floor from the basement, and were breaking out in all sections…”
The only items saved in the 1938 fire were the blessed sacrement and vestments (from the church), furnishings and parish records from the rectory) and some furnishings in the new parish hall.
In May 1939, less than one year after the fire, the cornerstone of a new church was was blessed; the new church took ten years to complete. At this time, Holy Cross Parish served not only Plympton inhabitants but also those of its missions at Doucetteville, Marshalltown and Digby Neck.
After 1948, Holy Cross Parish had only one mission church, that at Doucetteville. Responsibility for the missions of Marshalltown, Digby Neck and Freeport was transferred to the town of Digby. The parish of Holy Cross now encompassed Plympton, Plympton Station, Gilbert’s Cove, Ashmore, Weymouth North, Hillgrove, Barton and the mission of Doucetteville.
1958 was a landmark year for Holy Cross Parish as this marked the arrival of three Sisters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. These good sisters worked with the children of the parish and their parents, ministered to the sick and the troubled, and also worked with the youth of the parish. They left an indelible mark on the parish.
How to Pronounce Irish Names ????️????????????☘️ (and other Irish words): A quick guide
Seán, Niamh, Ciara, Oisín, Cathal... can you say these right? Maybe this video will help!
It can seem daunting to meet someone whose name you've seen written down, but have no idea how its pronounced & this is especially true with Irish people. This is because a lot of our names are based on Irish orthography (spelling & pronunciation rules).
Having a full understanding of this can take some getting used to, so instead of giving a thorough lesson, I decided to simplify things and give the most practical tips that work the majority of the time. I realize that I had to generalize and there are a few exceptions, but what I covered in this video will genuinely help you the vast majority of the time :)
(I also referred to lenition, implying that it only happens with the letter 'h', but this ignores when it happens with a 't' at the start of words. I didn't bring that up in this video because making notes of all the little things like that would have made this much longer and the remaining rules don't apply as much to names)
I hope I show in this video that it's really not that bad - Irish spelling is very consistent actually, especially when compared to English. If you keep the rules of thumb from the video in mind, you should find it much easier, whether you have Irish friends, or are learning the Irish language :)
To prove the point, here is the video I mentioned near the end, where I read a ridiculous poem in English:
Otherwise, I referenced some other links, so be sure to check out my page on Irish resources here:
And here is a playlist of videos about learning Irish and videos that I've made IN Irish (with subtitles):
Since a few people were asking, here's a link to the background music:
I expect nitpicking in the comments because of things that aren't perfect (not possible to be thorough in a short video), but I hope some of you get genuine use out of this!!

Jupiter Theme / God Beyond All Praising - Music to Inspire
Purchase at: or
Lyceum Philharmonic
Lyceum Orchestras Program
American Heritage School
Our hope is that this video can be a refuge for our viewers during the storms of life. There's something about this music that envelopes the senses and hides us from worries and cares. It's an emotional escape that shelters and replenishes humanity. If you are struggling right now just know that music and Jesus Christ will always be there for you. When other sources fail these two never will.
The Backstory
We hiked a symphony orchestra, timpani and all, down into a meadow on the backside of Mount Timpanogos during the peak of Fall colors. The camera crew recorded sunrise to sunset shooting in 4K. Bruce Wilson flew his state of the art drone over half of the mountain range looking for imagery to match the musical depth of Holst’s Thaxted theme. The Philharmonic performed the entire Planets by Holst not too long ago. Few musical moments can compete with the satisfying experience of performing that section of Jupiter. The Philharmonic was putting together an album of sacred music at the time so
Director Kayson Brown arranged this setting of the tune for that purpose. It combines the two worlds where the Philharmonic is most active – classical and inspirational music. This tune has been set to numerous texts for dozens of religious hymns as well as sports and patriotic anthems. It seems to nurture the humanity in each of us. For those less familiar with the text to “O God Beyond All Praising” by Michael Perry they are: “O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay; for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end: we lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word, we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord. Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our king; and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'II triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.”
