馬具工の聖ペトカ教会（ばぐこうのせい-きょうかい、ブルガリア語: Църква „Света Петка Самарджийска“、ラテン文字転写Tsarkva Sveta Petka Samardzhiyska）、通称聖ペトカ教会あるいは聖ペトカ地下教会は中世ブルガリアに建てられたブルガリア正教会の聖堂。ブルガリアの首都ソフィアにある。
聖ペトカ教会は一室の身廊を持つ小さな聖堂で、その高さの半分ほどは地面を掘った穴の中にある。教会はかつても今もソフィアの中心部となっている地区に建っており、現在はツム・デパート（ЦУМ、TZUM）の地下道に接続している。教会はその半円柱型のアーチ型屋根、球形のアプス、そして第二次世界大戦後の発掘により発見された地下聖堂などを有する。その外壁は1メートルの厚さがあり、石とれんがによって出来ている。
聖堂はオスマン帝国の支配下であった16世紀に登場し、かつての古代ローマの宗教施設の跡に建造されている。こんにちでは14世紀、15世紀、17世紀、19世紀の壁画で知られる文化的遺産である。
聖堂はブルガリアの聖ペトカ（Петка Българска、Petka Bulgarska）と呼ばれる11世紀の聖人に捧げられたものである。また、「馬具工」という呼称は、教会が中世に馬具工たちの守護者となって機密を行ったことに由来する。
一説によれば、ブルガリアの国家的英雄ヴァシル・レフスキ（Васил Левски、Vasil Levski）はここで埋葬されたとされている。この説はレフスキに関するニコライ・ハイトフ（Николай Хайтов、Nikolay Haytov）の研究によって支持され、さらに1956年の発掘調査によって裏付けられている。発掘調査では地下聖堂に幾らかの人骨が見つかっている。しかし、1980年代にブルガリア科学アカデミー（en）の考古学部門はこの説を支持せず、厳しい論争を引き起こした。この説に関してはいまだ結論は得られていない。
平成28年(2016年）8月23日～31日にブルガリア政府観光庁の招待旅行（ファムトリップ）に参加しました。ブルガリアは平成24年(2012年）7月に訪問して以来2回目の訪問です。前回はソフィアだけですが、今回は、多くの都市を訪問しました。
訪問した都市は、ソフィア→プロヴディフ→シプカ峠付近→カザンラク→カルロヴォ→ヒサリャと訪問。ソフィアからブルガリア中部を周りました。政府観光庁がミニバスを手配してくれたので、それに乗り、日本に13年間住んでいたブルガリア人の日本語ガイドの方に案内してもらえました。
ブルガリアは、東ヨーロッパの共和制国家です。 バルカン半島に位置し、北にルーマニア、西にセルビア、マケドニア共和国、南にギリシャ、トルコと隣接し、東は黒海に面しています。首都はソフィアです。住民は、 スラヴ系のブルガリア人が83.9%、トルコ人が9.4%、移動型民族のロマ人が4.7%。
ブルガリアの料理は、周辺のバルカン半島諸国と類似するものが多く、ひき肉料理や煮込み料理、シレネと呼ばれるヤギの乳からつくられるチーズ、ヨーグルトなどが代表的。ヨーグルトに相当する醗酵乳食品は他の国にも存在するが、ブルガリアのヨーグルトが日本のみならず世界的に有名になっている。これはロシアの微生物学者イリヤ・メチニコフが、ヨーグルトは長寿に効果があるとしてヨーロッパ中に広めたからである。

The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Bulgarian: Храм-паметник „Свети Александър Невски, Hram-pametnik „Sveti Aleksandar Nevski) is a Bulgarian Orthodox cathedral in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Built in Neo-Byzantine style, it serves as the cathedral church of the Patriarch of Bulgaria and is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world, as well as one of Sofia's symbols and primary tourist attractions.The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia occupies an area of 3,170 square metres (34,100 sq ft) and can hold 10,000 people inside. It is the second biggest cathedral located on the Balkan Peninsula after the Cathedral of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

St Nedelya Church in Sofia, Boris III Assassination Attempt (St Nedelya Assault) --- Saint Nedelya Church which is translated as Saint Sunday is on one of the ends of Vitosha Boulevard in Sofia, Bulgaria. In April 1925 there was a big assassination attempt to the life of Tsar Boris III in the same that church. Luckily he wasn't there when the explosion started. The Tsar was attending a funeral of one of his bodyguards.
