Saint Sarkis is considered the patron saint of love and youth. Every year his feast day is celebrated in Armenia on February 14.
Feast of St. Sarkis at the St. Sarkis Cathedral of Yerevan
On February 16, the Armenian Church celebrated the Feast of St. Sarkis the Captain and His Soldiers. On this occasion Divine Liturgy was celebrated in all churches named after St. Sarkis. The relics of St. Sarkis were taken from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to the St. Sarkis Cathedral of Yerevan, and the Avetis Yeretz Gospel was brought from the Matenadaran of Yerevan. Following Divine Liturgy His Eminence Archbishop Navasard Ktchoyan, Vicar of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese, offered a service of blessing of young people.

Սարգիս առաջնորդանիստ եկեղեցի, որտեղ Մատենադարանից բերվել էր նաեւ Ավետիս Երեցի Ավետարանը: Ս. Պատարագի ավարտին, ձեռամբ Արարատյան հայրապետական թեմի առաջնորդական փոխանորդ Գերշ. Տ. Նավասարդ արք. Կճոյանի, կատարվեց երիտասարդների օրհնության կարգ:

St. Sargis Day is one of Armenia’s most beloved holidays. At the end of the Mass that precedes the holiday, single young men and women take home with them rolls of blessed salted bread. According to the legend, if they eat the bread before going to bed, their future mate will be revealed in their dream.
Apart from being the patron saint of lovers, St. Sargis is also revered as the protector of people from evil. Proof of the mounted knight’s visit to one’s home is said to appear on a bowl of ground oats placed on the balcony. If the bowl shows the imprint of his horse’s shoe in the morning, the year will be filled with success.
In 2015, ceremonies in honor of St. Sargis Day were held in churches bearing the saint’s name on January 31. The holiday was also marked with a magnificent procession as well as a public celebration in Yerevan, with the participation of the President of the Republic.

On January 05, the Eve of the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ, a Candlelight Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the St. Sarkis Cathedral of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese. The celebrant was His Grace Bishop Mushegh Babayan. His Eminence Archbishop Navasard Ktchoyan, Vicar of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese, Mr. Serj Sargsyan, President of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Tigran Sargsyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Taron Margaryan, Mayor of the city of Yerevan and many faithful were in attendance for the Holy Service.

On 05 January, a Candlelight Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Nativity was celebrated at the St. Sarkis Mother Cathedral of Yerevan. Following the solemn Divine Liturgy a Home Blessing Service was offered at the headquarter building of the Araratyan Pontifical Diocese.
