Omiya Station Tour to Tokyo Adventure | Saitama
Welcome to Saitama! Let’s have a look around Omiya Station before heading back to Tokyo, a 30 min trip on the Takasaki or Keihin Tohoku Line — even faster on the Shinkansen! ★ thank you to Kip for giving us good local info during the tour!
Where is Omiya? #omiya #omiyastation #大宮駅
Saitama, Japan - Ōmiya Station (2019)
Ōmiya Station (大宮駅 Ōmiya-eki) is a railway station in Ōmiya-ku, Saitama, Japan. It is a major interchange station for the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), and is also operated by the private railway operator Tobu Railway.
Ōmiya Station opened on 16 March 1885 as a station of Nippon Railway.
In 1894, a railway workshop was opened to the north of the station, and this facility is still operated by JR East and Japan Freight Railway Company.
In fiscal 2013, the JR East station was used by an average of 245,479 passengers daily (boarding passengers only), making it the busiest station operated by JR East in Saitama Prefecture and the eighth-busiest station on the JR East network as a whole.
Local and late-night buses and intercity coaches including ones to Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport airports also depart from this station.
Saitama Railway Museum - Large Train Model TOKYO
This is a short train journey outside the centre of Tokyo in Saitama City. The Railway Museum has a wide range of trains on display. The highlight for me was the large 200 square meter display of HO scale model trains, the largest of its kind in Japan.

Hey ya'll,
In this video we visit the Railways Museum in Omiya Saitama Japan. An amazing collection of trains from 1825 to 2020.
There is so much to see and do here that if you visit expect to spend a good part of the day here.
The rolling stock is the main attraction with trains from all years of the past. Locomotives to carriages, older shinkansens and new ones.
Train simulators are quite popular, there is a history area, kids park and even kids train rides.
This train museum is an amazing place to visit.

A MUST VISIT in SAITAMA (Koedo in Kawagoe) Japan
It's a sunny day in Tokyo and Nozomi and I decided to have a trip in Saitama, where there is a famous shopping district called Koedo in Kawagoe.
The place is also called little Kyoto because of the old buildings that date back to the Edo period. Famous local food are also being sold in the long line of stalls and stores.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Love,
Edda

Shinkansen Trains Running in Tokyo and Saitama, Japan
On my most recent trip to Japan, we saw a few different Shinkansen trains. Since we took the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Odawara, we saw many at Tokyo Station, obviously.
Two days later we went to the Saitama Railway Museum, which has a cafe and outdoor roofdeck in between a Shinkansen line and a local train line. If you wait 5-10 minutes, you will see at least one Shinkansen train pass in either direction, as they are very frequent. We saw three there in about 10 minutes, capturing 2 of them on video.
Shinkansen trains are all elevated and are not easy to see unless you are up high and have a view of the tracks from above.
Also, if you want to simply watch them arrive at Tokyo Station, you can buy a 2 hour visitor pass for about $1.50 USD from the JR ticket machine, which enables you to access all the platforms.
【4K】Saitama JR Railway museum
The Biggest railroad museum in Kanto. It's not only showing standing fullsize locomotives, some you can see from inside, some of them can move. There are multiple full size locomotive simulators including steam one. There is even small railroad where you can try to drive train car yourself.
Museum location
Filmed in UltraHD 4K 30p with Lumix GH4 camera, 7-14 f4 lens and Beholder DS1 stabilizer.
Feel free to correct my English or suggest a video to film.

OMIYA - The SHINJUKU of SAITAMA
Ōmiya (大宮区 Ōmiya-ku) is one of ten wards of the city of Saitama, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, and is located in the northeastern part of the city. As of 1 February 2016, the ward had an estimated population of 113,742 and a population density of 8,890 persons per km². Its total area was 12.80 square kilometres (4.94 sq mi). Although Urawa-ku is the governmental center of Saitama City, Ōmiya-ku is the most active commercial and business centre in both Saitama City and Saitama Prefecture thanks to its transport infrastructure, especially railways connected at Ōmiya Station.
Ōmiya Ward is within the Ōmiya Terrace of the Kantō plain, in the center of Saitama City. It is in the Greater Tokyo Area and about 25 km north of central Tokyo.

Guys, I've decided that I'm going to take a more direct and honest approach with you, my viewers. And part of that real talk has to do with something most Youtubers are not that willing to talk about - money.
The thing with Youtube ad-revenue is that it's a complete joke, and the only way smaller channels can earn an income worth the time spent making videos is with lots of low quality content, or sponsored content. I dont wanna play that game. I want to make the best videos possible for you, my viewers, but making good videos takes a ton of time, effort and money.
Thus, I started Patreon to help with the costs of producing these videos. There's a few of costs like: travelling around Tokyo, entrance fees and the cost of my time (hundreds of hours scripting, shooting, editing).
A lot of my fellow YouTuber friends are using Patreon so that their audience can support them directly. I would LOVE to make working on this channel my full-time job, so If you feel that my content is worth it then please have a look at my Patreon page and help me grow Tokyo Drew. Let's make awesome vids together:
