Guests at Sumire-so can rent ski gear on-site, while the hotel also provides ski storage and dry cleaning service. Facilities include a launderette and drinks vending machines. Limited free parking is on-site.
Surrounded by fields and gardens, Sumire-so Oyado is around a 5-minute walk from the spring cherry blossoms of Garyu-Sakura. It’s a 2-minute walk from Hida Ichinomiya Minashi Jinja Shrine. JR Hida Ichinomiya Station is a 5-minute walk, and the popular Takayama area can be reached within a 15-minute train ride.
Basic rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and traditional futon bedding. Amenities include a TV and yukata robes, while an air humidifier or a set of igo Japanese chess can be can be borrowed at reception. Bathrooms and toilets are shared.
Japanese meals are served at the dining room, for breakfast and dinner. They feature seasonal local dishes.
