Die Landschaft am Lac du Salagou ist ANDERS als anderswo. Sie ist nicht nur anders, sondern sie erscheint mir sogar BESONDERS. Nirgendwo sonst in Europa habe ich in den letzten 60 Jahren jemals ähnlich rostrotes, amorphes, zu Sand zerbröselndes Schiefer-, bzw. Splittergestein gesehen, auf dem wenig wächst und das daher permanent durch Sonne, Wind und vor allem Wasser verändert und geformt wird. Besonders die winzigen Minicanyon, die sich durch Starkregen in den Steil- und Abhängen rund um den See gebildet haben, faszinieren mich. An Gewittertagen rauscht durch sie die Sintflut zu Tal. Im trockenen Sommern werden sie zu Mini-Wadis.

Aber nicht nur das wüstenähnliche ROSTROT springt ins Auge, sondern auch das HIMMELBLAU im Sommer und das satte GRÜN der bewässerten WEIN-Berge ringsum. Wer also besondere Landschaften liebt, der ist rund um den LAC DU SALAGOU goldrichtig.

Pour les touristes au Salagou on utilise les grands moyens, au détriment de quelques poissons , mais c'est un choix ...

Der LAC DU SALAGOU ist keine Touristen-Hochburg mit dem üblichen Unterhaltungsangebot. Aber es gibt eine einfache STRANDKNEIPE mit Pizza-Service im Karton, die „Auberge de Salagou direkt neben dem „Camping municipal Lac du Salagou, wo mehrmals in der Woche örtliche Bands mit LIVE-Auftritten für „Lärm sorgen.

Und mancher Lärm hört sich richtig gut an, so dass wir beim Schachtel-Pizza-Essen sitzen bleiben und zuhören.

Richtig beeindruckt sind wir von ANGIE & CO. Im Rollstuhl sitzend I FEEL GOOD zu singen, zeugt von STÄRKE! Da ich selbst die Welt aus der ROLLSTUHL-Perspektive sehr gut kenne

Das Land rund um den LAC DU SALAGOU, den schönsten See Südfrankreichs, ist nicht nur ein WIND- und WASSERSPORT-Paradies, sondern zweifellos auch ein ganz besonderes MOUNTAINBIKE-Eldorado, in dem sich Anfänger und Spezialisten dieser Natursportart in ROTEM STAUB, SAND, STEIN und FELS nach Herzenslust austoben können.

Wir von der Kassel-Family sind hier eher etwas zögernd und verhalten unterwegs, da Astrid Kassel vor 10 Jahren am Nordufer des Lac du Salagou nahe des Ruinendorfes CELLES mit dem Mountainbike in eine Schlucht stürzte und sich schwer verletzte. Nasentrümmerbruch und tiefe Fleischwunden im Gesicht mussten in einer Spezialklinik für Gesichtschirurgie in Montpellier stationär behandelt werden.

Der Schock von damals hallt auch heute noch nach..... Es macht Sinn, im herrlichen und vielfältig gestalteten Offroad-Gelände rund um den Lac du Salagou nicht Kopf und Kragen zu riskieren. Wir von der Kassel-Family sind diesbezüglich gebrannte Kinder!
