Salem, the witch town of Massachusetts

Salem, the witch town of Massachusetts
Salem is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States.
The so-called City of Witches (Witch City) because of the trials that took place in the year 1692, is located on the US Atlantic coast, 25 km north of Boston.
The city owes its growth to its strategic port, which acquired important influence during the peak of commercial traffic with Africa, India, Russia, Sumatra and China; in the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth. Recently, and taking into account its history, as its rich architecture of the aforementioned period- (recognized aspects both locally and internationally), it was granted the status of National Historical Heritage. There are more than 60 restaurants, coffee shops and coffee shops in the center of the city.
Salem receives more than one million visitors a year, who come from all over the world. This city concentrates a great part of the historical places of the state of Massachusetts, in addition to museums, cultural activities, fine restaurants and select businesses.
The Samuel McIntyre Historic District consists of four hundred and seven buildings. It is the largest agglutination of buildings in colonial America in the United States. Inside it is McIntyre's own house. Samuel McIntyre, or McIntire, (January 16, 1757 February 6, 1811) was an American architect and craftsman. It is a prime example of federal style architecture. He developed most of his work in his hometown, Salem, Massachusetts.
Known as The people of witches, Salem is a city located in the state of Massachusetts that is currently visited by thousands of tourists intrigued by terrifying stories that are woven on that place.
The event that gave rise to the fame of witch people to Salem occurred in 1962, when the settlers began a witch hunt that ended with the imprisonment of more than 150 men and women.
This hunt began in January of that year, after the daughter of the Reverend Samuel Parris fell ill. The diagnosis of the doctor was that they had bewitched her.
That provoked a mass hysteria in Salem that caused 13 women and 6 men to be condemned to the gallows, accused of practicing witchcraft and performing satanic rites.
At present, there is a museum dedicated to explain this event, and a tour that takes tourists to visit the sites related to the witch hunt.

OTIS Traction Elevator - Macy's (Meier & Frank) - Salem Center Mall, Salem, Oregon
This is the 1955 Otis traction elevator at Macy's, Salem Center Mall, Salem, Oregon. This i believe used to have the black buttons or even touch sensitive or pop out buttons. The freight elevator is original with black buttons. I might ask to ride it one day. I'm pretty sure this had black buttons. It used to be faster and really rough. Now it is very smooth and slower. You can even feel it jerk a little when it starts to level. ThyssenKrupp made nice improvements to it! I like the indicator and bell. Enjoy!

Jacklynn Ford's last place in the City of Peace - Salem Oregon Part 1
Jacklynn Rashaun Ford was shot to death by an SPD officer after a traffic stop turned into a foot pursuit that began just after 10:00 p.m. Friday night near the intersection of Watson Ave and NE Alameda St. and ended in Eastgate Basin Park.
Eyewitness Michael Shelley told KOIN 6 News on Sunday he saw Ford standing in front of a streetlight when she was shot. Shelley said he doesn't believe he saw her holding a gun.
I just watched. I was mesmerized, he said. He saw Ford standing across the street from his house after wrestling with a Salem police officer.
They asked me if I saw a weapon at all. I said, it couldn't have been on the right side. (That side was lit by the streetlight.) I couldn't see anything on the left side. Ford's mother, Crystal Ford, told KOIN 6 News Sunday her daughter was right-handed.
Mark Sharp, who lives near the site of the shooting, said he saw Ford run across the street and wrestle with officers.
That's when I hear a man's voice yelling 'stop, stop, stop,' he told KOIN 6 News on Saturday.I hear 'pop-pop-pop' and I'm, like, wait a minute. I saw him standing over her and smoke was rising up from the firearm, he said. The dog had the woman, pulling her, dragging her across the grass then the other officers started showing up.
Was the firearm beside Ford fired? Did it have her finger prints on it? Were the entry wounds on her head and chest on her face and front? Did Ford have GSR or Gunshot Residue on her hands?

Boa Snake in Riverfront City Park Salem Oregon
This is first time I saw someone walking their pet snake in the park.
Boa Constrictors are one of the largest snakes in the world, along with the Reticulated Python and Anaconda. Boas are non-poisonous but just as deadly. They ambush their prey, which means that they will hide and wait for something yummy to go by and then do a surprise attack. They use their flicking tongue to pick up the scent. Just as their name suggests, they will coil their bodies around the prey and with each breath of the prey they will constrict, or squeeze, their coils just a little tighter until the animal can no longer breath. Their prey consists of birds, lizards, frogs and small mammals. Larger Boas will even eat monkeys, pigs or deer.
Although they are not considered Pit Vipers, some Boas have heat-sensitive scales around their mouths that help them find prey in the dark.
These snakes live in hot, tropical places and can be found both on the ground and in trees.
Boas give birth to live young, which means that they develop completely inside their mother. Once they are born they are on their own and know pretty much all they have to know about finding food and hiding.
Boas are said to be the most beautifully colored of all snakes.
