Salisbury Beach Center - 1989/1990 Video Compilation
A Compilation Of Video Taken On September 3rd, 1989 & July 16th 1990.
Since the 1920's four generations of my family (and I'm sure a lot of other families) have enjoyed the rides at Salisbury Beach. For me it was the 60's & 70's with great memories of the rides at Shaheen's Fun O Rama. For my kids and others growing up in the late 80's and early 90's Pirates Park was what they remember as the Himalaya and other rides were relocated there before sadly disappearing forever, or so it seems.

Cowasuck Powwow 1994 at Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts Cowasuck ? Abenaki ?
This is a Educational Video. It is used for Education and Research on Groups, Tribes and Organizations and Peoples, that claim to be Cowasuck, and or Abenakis, or even Penacook.
No Copyright is intended or implied by posting this. This was a DVD+R format given to my person some years ago, I believe transferred from an older VHS format.
This video of the Abenaki Pow-wow in Salisbury, MA on August 20-21, 1994. Herein, the view can hear, alleged Mohawk Onkwe Tase and Abenakis like Jeanne (nee: Lalime) Lincoln - Kent of Winsted, CT a.k.a. Morning Star, Roger Jean Descharnais a.k.a. Running Elk and Al Greyhawk Milano and his Mohawk wife Many Winds. Paul Rene Tamburro, many others, that you will see herein. There are as well within this video Rick Obomsawin of Odanak, Qc, Canada, John Henry Brin a.k.a. Running Deer, Rene George Blanchette a.k.a. Grandfather Maple and Paul Wilson Pouliot a.k.a. Red Hawk etc and many many others. Many of whom are now deceased and or elderly. NOT ELDERS, as in someone who have or had connection(s) to the Abenakis at all.
I do not imply or state that any portion of this video is authentic or legitimately accurate. Please take all that is said in this video with a huge grain of salt and please look at each individual's genealogical connections or the lack of connection to the Abenakis. Abenaki Language? Abenaki Community? Abenaki Connection(s)? Aside from Richard Rick Obomsawin, attending this gathering in August 1994...
If you listen closely, one can hear the Indian Speak that sort of Indian-ist linguistically nuance that comes across.... some of these people are now members of Vermont Recognized Tribes having been members of one group, fled to another and another and another over the years, holding many incorporate membership cards in their bags of trickster tricks. Abenakis? I think not. You decide for yourselves. Check out the Reinvention of the Vermont and NH Abenakis:
Bitter? Angry? Nope, just doing my homework on the Wannabiak and sharing my results and disgust of it all.
Me no stupid human being who thinks everyone so stupid (or gullible). For example, Mrs. Kent here of CT., has had many Cards in many FAKE Abenaki groups. They are not Tribes. They were NEVER Abenaki Tribes. But hey, you decide whether to afford these pretenders of reinvented Abenakis. The State of VT and NH entertain these pretenders because it is yet another form of GENOCIDE against Abenakis throughout N'dakinnna. They mock, dress up, and pretend to be.... watch the video, then watch it again. LISTEN to the whole nefarious illusion/delusion of being alleged Abenaki. Follow their genealogical backgrounds. Not what comes out of their mouths in Indian-ist Speak.

Salisbury Beach Firemen's Muster
Bring your camera!!
An antique hand pumped fire engine muster where crews pump their machines to see who can play the longest stream of water. This is the oldest organized sport in the United States.
Spectators are invited to try out pumping the machines!
For more information on the sport and the machines visit:
The first firemen’s muster was held on July 4th, 1849 in Bath, Maine. It was a competition among crews with hand pumped fire engines to see who could shoot the longest stream of water. The tradition has been kept alive into the 21st century; every year on a Saturday close to July 4th, another muster is held in Bath.
On November 20th, 1890, the New England States Veteran Firemen’s League was founded in Boston. Musters were held all over New England, often attracting 50 or 60 entrants.
There are two classes of machine: A and B. The class is determined by the size of the cylinders. Each machine is allowed 15 minutes on the pumping platform to shoot as many streams as their crew can manage.
A suction hose goes into the water tank, which is kept full from a hydrant or a tanker truck. The foreman stands on top and keeps an eye on optimal wind conditions. The pipe crew handles the nozzle and aims the powerful spray down the line of red resin paper that is the playing field.
The judges measure the farthest flung dime sized drop of water to determine who wins each class.
