Shuswap Lake Nature Bay Wharf, Salmon Arm Canada
Glaciers and snowmelt from the Monashee Mountains to the east and north supply Shuswap Lake. North America's longest freshwater wooden wharf abuts a 40 hectare wildlife sanctuary. Bastion Mountain (north), Fly Hills (west), Mount Ida (south), and Larch Hills (east) surround Salmon Arm.

What's up fellow Wanderers! Welcome back to the Exploring in British Columbia with today's video focusing in on the wharf located in Salmon Arm on Shuswap Lake.
Salmon Arm is a city in the Shuswap Country of the Southern Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia that has a population of 17,464 (2011). It is on the shores of Shuswap Lake, where the Salmon River empties into the Salmon Arm reach of the Lake. It is a tourist town in the summer, with many beaches, camping facilities and house boat rentals. Salmon Arm is home to the longest wooden wharf in North America. There are many things for tourists and locals alike to do in Salmon Arm and its surrounding area such as hiking in the nearby Herald Provincial Park, take in the local museum at the R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum, boating on Shuswap Lake itself or make the 2 hour 20 minute drive to Wells Gray Provincial Park aptly named the Land of Waterfalls for good reason as there are so many of said water feature in the park!

Salmon Arm Wharf Area
Across the railway tracks is Salmon Arm's wharf - the largest wooden wharf in North America and a popular attractions for visitors and residents. The wharf is a great place to take a stroll to see a wide variety of birds. While you are there, chances are you'll see some members of the Shuswap Association for Rowing and Paddling out with one of their dragon boats. Also check out and or for more information.

Driving through Salmon Arm, BC - Canada
Salmon Arm is a city in the Shuswap Country of the Southern Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia that has a population of 17,464 (2011). It is on the shores of Shuswap Lake, where the Salmon River empties into the Salmon Arm reach of the Lake. It is a tourist town in the summer, with many beaches, as well as camping facilities and house boat rentals. Salmon Arm is home to the longest wooden wharf in North America.[2] It is the location of the head offices of the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District. Salmon Arm became a city on May 15, 1905, and in 2005, its 100th anniversary of incorporation was commemorated with a minted coin worth C$3 local value. Directly north of the city, across Shuswap Lake, lies Mount Bastion.

The largest employer in the Salmon Arm area is the forest industry and related businesses; however, due to economic conditions, the former Federated Co-Op sawmill has been out of operation since 2008, although the co-located plywood production facility has generally remained operational. The plywood plant is now owned by Gorman Bros. Lumber Lrd. The city benefits from access to the mainline of the Canadian Pacific Railway, which passes through the city.
Tourism is also important to Salmon Arm, bringing many tourists from Vancouver, Calgary and Asia. Most tourists arrive during the summer season, either stopping en route to other holiday destinations, or to visit Shuswap Lake, often via rental houseboats and which has recreation residential communities and campgrounds all around its shores. Salmon Arm has several hotels, campsites and houseboat rental outlets.
Relative to its size, Salmon Arm has a wide variety of restaurants and cultural attractions. Public beaches at Sunnybrae and Canoe are often crowded during the summer.

Salmon Arm British Columbia RV Trip 2019 With North Americas Longest Wooden Wharf In Shuswap Lake, We walk on Marine Park Wharf and see the views of Shuswap Lake, later tour the small town with historic buildings in the downtown core Later we drive to Kamloops where we experience technical difficulties with our stovetop. The only solution to order pizza online to be delivered to our RV Motorhome in Kamloops Walmart parking lot. Kami Pizza took our order and successfully delivered it to us. Saving dinner by Pizza.
