Trolley Square, Utahs premiere destination for an incomparable shopping, dining and entertainment experience! Youll find a multitude of shops, services and eateries in the converted trolley carbarns and adjoining buildings. Scheduled events and activities frequent our campus at the only festival marketplace found in the state.
Trolley Square has been part of Utahs heritage since 1847, when Mormon leader Brigham Young designated the area as the Tenth Ward. The ten-acre block later served as fairgrounds, until Union Pacific magnate E. H. Harriman chose the site for his state-of-the-art trolley car system. He invested $3.5 million to construct the unusual mission-style carbarn complex in 1908. Within six years, more than 144 trolleys served the valley from the site until the transit line was discontinued in 1945.
The old and decaying carbarns were saved from demolition in 1972 when they were transformed into Utahs only festival marketplace. Relics from the turn-of-the-century were rescued and used in constructing its unique stores.
Trolley Square was registered as a historic site by the state of Utah in 1973. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. The Square quickly became and remains one of the states most popular attractions, offering unique shopping, dining and entertainment in a charming, historic atmosphere.
Take a moment and relive the Old West by strolling through the historic highlights of Trolley Square.

Buses in Salt Lake City, Utah 2018
UTA's bus system extends throughout the Wasatch Front from Brigham City in the north to Santaquin in the south and as far west as Grantsville, as well as east to Park City. UTA also operates routes to the ski resorts in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, as well as Sundance in Provo Canyon, during the ski season (typically November to April). Approximately 60,000 people ride the bus daily, although ridership has reportedly declined since TRAX (lightrail) was constructed ~Wikipedia

Trolley car back to Trolley Square Oct. 15, 2018.
Trolley car unveiling October 15, 2018 at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. October 15, 1908 was the date Utah Light & Railway Company began using the property as home for the streetcars. The car barns weren't finished by this date in 1908 but the track and overhead wires were in. Through the years the two trolley cars (operated in 1946 as the Trolley Inn diner on North Temple and 300 West, exactly behind where Crown Burger is today. Later owned by various people and was Jack's Café. March 28, 1972, Trolley Square purchases the two trolley cars from John & Beth Purdue for $100. August 14, 1972, State Savings opens a branch in the restored trolley cars. The woodwork was done by Ernie Paetsch. Through the years it was also a video store (Trolley Video ran by the Cullimore family), a deli (Trolley Sandwich), a crepe restaurant (Trolley Crepe) and a restaurant bar (Trolley Wing Company). It was moved to the south parking lot and covered with a tarp for construction of Whole Foods on March 4, 2010. The wood interior was restored with lights. Final restoration will be done in the summer of 2019 on site at Trolley Square. Thanks to Michael De Groote for the information and if you'd like more see pictures from over the years visit:

Transit Express, or TRAX, is a light rail system in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, in the United States, serving Salt Lake City and many of its suburbs throughout Salt Lake County. SEDONA AZ TROLLEY TOUR-DOWNTOWN SEDONA WALK THROUGH-EP37
We spent a week in Sedona, Az and LOVED this area! We will be back again, soon. One week here was not enough! Schedule 2 weeks here, and you will be glad you did.
We originally tried to stay in Rancho Sedona RV Park that is right in town, but are actually glad we were not able to get enough continuous days. We point out in the episode how close this RV park is to the downtown area. You will see that it is a tight campground for big rigs.
We ended up in the Distant Drums RV Resort campground, about 30 minutes (24 miles) outside of Sedona. It was a beautiful ride each time, so we did not mind it at all. The bonus was two fold. WAY cheaper and a heated pool and hot tub! Can't beat that!
We started our first day in Sedona by taking a trolly tour to get the lay of the land on Thanksgiving. We were surprised they were open and running a full schedule. But as we walked the busy streets, we noticed many people were speaking in foreign languages..... dah.... these vacationers don't celebrate Thanksgiving! American capitalism at its finest.
We had lots to explore in Sedona,.... and more videos are coming on just Sedona. We booked a full day private van and vortex energy tour and then a few days later, took a day trip train ride from Williams, AZ to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Subscribe and stay in touch to see that episode.
