Saltwater State Park is a 87.4 acres plot of second-growth timber on Puget Sound in the City of Des Moines, Washington, United States halfway between Seattle and Tacoma. The main attraction is 1,445 feet of saltwater beachfront, including a sandy swimming beach in the southwest corner, and rocky tideflats along the west with a submerged artificial reef that is popular with scuba divers.A forty-person group camp looks down on the beach from a high bluff.Overlooked by most visitors is the steep ravine of McSorley Creek which winds inland in a gentle S curve joined by three tributary streams.

Washington State Parks - Rasar State Park Washington Skagit County Campground
Washington State Parks are renowned for their campgrounds and natural settings. The Rasar State Park in Skagit County near Concrete Wa is a great place to spot Bald Eagles, hike and of course camp. There are walk in tent campsites, shelters, cabins, and of course traditional RV and Motorhome campsites with power and electric.
The Rasar State Park is only a 20 minute drive from Burlington Washington off the I-5 Freeway. Bring plenty of marshmallows and insect repellent as well as your camera so you can get some great shots of the Resident Bald Eagles. For more information about other hiking trails visit

Richmond Beach Saltwater Park - Best Parks in Seattle
Richmond Beach Saltwater Park is one of my favorite parks in Seattle. This park, located in Shoreline, WA, is best known for its views of the Puget Sound and mountains, pirate ship playground, beach access, and seasonal off-leash dog area. You’ll also find that Richmond Beach Park is a great place for a workout or sunset stroll.
You can find more info about Richmond Beach Park on the City of Shoreline website:

Discovery Park - Seattle, WA
A wonderful day at the park with Dan & Kate. This park has a ferry to a neighboring island, a salt water swimming pool, and a very nice beach, albeit comprised of largish stone. Vitoria got to play at a nice playground for a while while Dan took a nap.

Divers remove tires from Puget Sound
Several hundred old tires were removed Aug. 19 from the waters off Saltwater State Park by the U.S. Army dive team. The project was sponsored by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife with support from federal, state and private organizations. At least 500 tires are sunk in 50 to 60 feet of water over approximately 55 acres off the Redondo Beach shore, according to the department. The tires were placed there in the 1970s when it was common in the United States to use tires as artificial reefs. Those reefs are now considered environmental hazards and projects are in place across the nation to remove them.
Puget Sound Pink Salmon Fishing Basics
This video highlights the basics on when, where, and how to catch pink salmon returning to Puget Sound in both marine and freshwaters. Pink salmon fishing lends itself to fishing by both a boat (troll or cast) and shore (lures or flies) at these acrobatic fish during late summer which is ideal for taking out the whole family. For more information tips, tactics and techniques, go to: wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington.

Road Ready Campground Review | Easton Lakes Resort | Easton Lakes Washington
Road Ready Campground Review, Easton Lakes RV Resort, Easton Lakes Washington.
As we traveled Pacific North Westward, we needed a place to stop overnight, so we picked this nice little park. We found it through the RPI Network of RV parks and campgrounds, so it was a no brainer. RPI parks cost us about $10 usually, and this one ended up at just over $15. Its nestled right along I90, so its easy in and easy out, but there was some road noise. The staff was extremely friendly, and we would definitely return.

Harbor Seal pup at Des Moines Beach Park, Washington
This is the first time that I have seen Seal hanging out in the City Beaches, although I have read the posted Notices not to approach or disturb any marine animals or wildlife at the beach. This unexpected surprise on my way to lunch was so cool! :)
This cutie Sea Dog puppy ( I am no Seal expert, I am guessing it's a Harbor Seal Pup) was resting and taking in the Sun at Des Moines Beach Park in Des Moines (a suburb of Seattle), WA.
