“สามพันโบก” ตั้งอยู่ที่บ้านโป่งเป้า หมู่ที่ 4 ตำบลเหล่างาม อำเภอโพธิ์ไทร จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี เป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่มีลักษณะเป็นแก่งหินที่อยู่ใต้ลำน้ำโขง ที่เชื่อกันว่าเกิดขึ้นจากการกัดเซาะของน้ำ (Hole Point) ในช่วงฤดูน้ำหลากแก่งหินที่อยู่ใต้บาดาลจะถูกกัดเซาะด้วยพลังของน้ำที่ไหลวน อย่างรุนแรง และกระจายเต็มพื้นที่มาเป็นเวลาหลายพันปี จนทำให้แก่งหินเหล่านี้เกิด “รู” หรือ “โบก” น้อย-ใหญ่ขึ้นมากกว่า 3,000 แอ่ง จนกลายเป็นที่มาชื่อของ “สามพันโบก” ที่ชาวบ้านใช้เรียกกันในเวลาต่อมา ซึ่งคำว่า “โบก” ในภาษาอีสานหรือภาษาลาวก็แปลได้ว่า “หลุม” นั่นเอง
