Tropical Heat Hot Sauce Retreat 2020!
Find out what our Costa Rica hot sauce & foodie retreat at Finca Mia is all about!
Hot Sauce Retreat Video Matt: Hey it’s Matt & Catt comin at ya from Hoss Soss HQ in Salem OR! We’ll be your hosts for the Tropical Heat Hot Sauce Retreat in Costa Rica in March 2020 — we hope you can join us!
Catt: The top 2 questions we’ve been getting about our retreat are: 1. Why Costa Rica ??? and 2. What do you do at a hot sauce retreat????
Matt: So let’s start with Number One: Why are we hosting our retreat at Finca Mia Retreat Center in Costa Rica? In 2014, we sold all our stuff and moved to Costa Rica! We landed at Finca Mia, I was the Head Chef and Catt worked in Guest Relations at this very unique retrea center. We moved back to Oregon in 2016 and have been planning to return to Finca Mia with our own retreat group ever since. Now that we own a hot sauce company, we have the perfect theme for our own retreat!
Catt: Check out these gorgeous pics of our favorite Finca Mia cabins in the jungle -- imagine yourself waking up here to the sounds of the river and tropical birds in the trees...
Catt: Oh man I love those cabins, so amazing. Can’t wait to get back down there! Next up, let’s talk about what we’ll be doing during our retreat:
Matt: On Day One, we‘ll pick you up at the airport in San Jose and travel together in private vans to Finca Mia. It’s a beautiful 4-hour drive and yes we will stop for snacks! That evening after everyone gets settled, we’ll have dinner and introduce you to our co-host Becca, who is an organic chili farmer and hot sauce maker. Day Two is all about hot sauce! We’ll tour Becca’s farm in the morning and let you select your own organic chilies for your sauces, then work with you to develop your own unique hot sauce recipes and make and bottle your sauce. At dinner time – we’ll eat sauce!
Catt: Day Three is all about relaxing. We’ll offer a guided hike of the nearby Cloudbridge Nature Reserve and afterward the day is yours to indulge in spa services such as massage, acupuncture, facials and more — or simply sunbathe on a rock in the river or lie in a hammock for the afternoon! On Day Four, we’ll take you on a foodie tour of the local village. We’ll check out the organic chocolate maker, the cheese maker, the craft beer brewer and visit Costa Rica’s largest geodesic butterfly dome where they happen to have the best ice cream!
Matt: Day 5 is our departure day. If you’re planning to leave Costa Rica, our private shuttle will take you back to the airport. If you’re planning to continue exploring Costa Rica, we’ll help you add more adventures! Here are a few of our favorite spots: Arenal Volcano, Corcovado National Park.
Catt: Thanks so much for tuning in, guys!! Check the countdown on our main page to see how many days are left to book! Please reach out to us with any Questions – our email and phone number are listed right here on the website or simply fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you asap. See you in Costa Rica!
