#SpirituousBuenosAires | 5. Beer
Beer in Buenos Aires is a symbol for getting together, and the beerhouses are the feeling of this encounter. You’ll find that there are a great many of them and that they’re always bustling with people. The first pint is enjoyed with your own and the following ones with new friends. There are stouts, red ales, lagers. Some are malty; some are hoppy. There’s only one rule: if you like it, it’s good

San Telmo: The best barrio for Buenos Aires Accommodation
Visit us at
San Telmo has the best Buenos Aires accommodations and they're the best places to stay in Argentina if you're traveling on a budget. Cheap accommodations in San Telmo are not uncommon. Affordable hostels and hotels in San Telmo come in numbers, allowing you to stretch your travel budget and spend them on other things. But there are other reasons to stay in San Telmo besides affordable Buenos Aires accommodations.
Why Get San Telmo Accommodations?
For starters, San Telmo is the oldest barrio or neighborhood in the city. The barrio dates back to the 17th century when it was known as San Pedro Heights, a place where brickmakers and dockworkers of their time typically resided. San Telmo bore witness to the industrial era of Buenos Aires and became a site of the first warehouses, windmills, and brick kilns. Majority of the city's exports were stored in San Telmo throughout colonial times.
The barrio faced several challenges from past to present but it flourished nonetheless. The colonial era brought forward many of the top tourist attractions in San Telmo. Altogether, these historic attractions from the Spanish colonial period are one good reason to stay in San Telmo accommodations.
Apart from the historic charm of its colonial buildings, San Telmo is brought to life by its unique bohemian culture. It began when local artists moved to the neighborhood soon after immigrants left. Since then there was a growth in presence of art galleries in San Telmo. It didn't take long for nightlife to catch the hip vibe that embraced the neighborhood. Today, there are a number of pubs and bars in San Telmo where you can dance to Argentinian music and choose from a wide selection of beers and cocktail drinks including local mixtures.
There is no other barrio in the city that is as culture-rich and history-filled as San Telmo. This is another good reason why the best Buenos Aires accommodations are in San Telmo. The combination of history, culture, and nightlife make it a triple-threat compared to other neighborhoods in Buenos Aires as a destination and a place to stay.
Furthermore, San Telmo has a nice location. The barrio allows quick access to downtown Buenos Aires. Thus, you can reach to public transportation easily and explore the rest of the city without much fuss.
Types Of San Telmo Accommodations
Accommodations in San Telmo are not just limited to options like budget-friendly hostels and hotels. If you plan on staying in Buenos Aires for an extended period, another great option would be for you to rent cheap apartments in San Telmo. There are many apartments for rent in San Telmo and you will find that they have reasonable prices. You should get a furnished apartment for the best Buenos Aires accommodations.
More About San Telmo Accommodations
Not all accommodations in San Telmo are pleasant. Due to their location, some of them can be too noisy and rowdy especially at night. If you want a quiet place where you can sleep at night, avoid San Telmo hostels and apartments located near major streets, bars, and clubs. If you are a night person and want to experience the nightlife in San Telmo, these are the best places to stay. By daylight, the area will be quiet enough for you to catch some sleep until the next hangover. Most importantly, remember to choose a San Telmo accommodation based on your preference to have the best Buenos Aires accommodations.

The best of travel in Argentina! Let's explore this incredible country together.
Argentina Travel Guide | Best things to do in Argentina Travel Video Transcript:
Well, welcome to Argentina! This month Sam and I are exploring Buenos Aires the Argentinian capital. And this video is going to show you 50 things to do around the city.
Buenos Aires is one of our favorite cities in the world, so as soon as we arrived, we hit the ground running. In this guide we'll be visiting numerous neighborhoods including Recoleta, San Telmo, Boca and Palermo, while showcasing a mix of fun activities and main attractions. And since we're huge foodies, we'll also be introducing you to a few Argentine dishes you simply cannot miss. For anyone planning a trip to the capital, here are 50 things to do in Buenos Aires:
And that's a huge wrap for our Buenos Aires City Guide. We really enjoyed showing you around one of our favorite cities in the world, and we hope that this video offered a bit of inspiration in terms of things to do, foods to eat, and activities to try on your visit. As always, if you have any suggestions of other fun things to do in Buenos Aires, please feel free to share those in the comments section below. Until next time!
So good afternoon from the town of Cachi. Today we took a side trip from Salta. So we left really early in the morning. We were up at seven thirty and we drove through lots of different landscapes actually. Getting to Cachi involves going through jungle, desert, gorges. And there was a fourth one that our guide mentioned that I can't seem to remember at the moment. But either way it was really scenic. We just arrived at the town. We had a nice lunch. So yeah, we're going to go for a little tour I think.
So today we are taking a little bit of a day trip. We've left behind Villa General Belgrano and we're going to visit a little village called La Cumbrecita up in the Sierras. And this is where I went to school as a child. So it is going to be really fun walking around and showing you around.
So good morning from somewhere in the province of Salta. Today we're doing another day trip. So we left the city behind and we're driving towards a place called Cafayate. Right now we're just making a little pit stop. A little breakfast stop. So we just ate some alfajores, had some coffee. Oh, they were so good. So good. Double layer alfajores. Oh, yeah. There was so much dulce de leche on them. So yeah, we're just going to continue with the drive over and we're going to be stopping at a National Park to see some cool stuff.
Well, welcome to Germany. Or should I say the Germany of South America. Today we're visiting a town called Villa General Belgrano which has very German roots. Like walking around here you're almost feeling like you've been transported back to Bavaria. And this is a town that I'm very familiar with because I actually grew up in a local village that was only 30 minutes away from here. So we're going to be taking a little tour of the town. I'm excited to show Sam around. And maybe we'll try a few German delicacies. Some beer, pastries, who knows. We'll see what is on the menu.

Checking out downtown Buenos Aires (feat. San Telmo, Vietnamese pho, Coffee with cake Cafe Tortoni)
We are two New Zealanders who have finally quit our jobs and have started our 1 year travel around South America! Our first country is Argentina. We stayed in Buenos Aires for a month studying Spanish. We are doing a vlog of our budget travel for the memories.
Today we were craving some noodles so badly so we went to Saigon in San Telmo - arguably the best Vietnamese pho we have had, about as good as the pho we had straight from the source in Vietnam! The atmosphere of the restaurant was awesome and it was reasonably well priced. Highly recommend!
We desperately wanted an ice cream afterwards but because it was election day here in Buenos Aires, most places were shut. We settled on a historic cafe called Tortoni in central Buenos Aires, and we did not regret it. The chocolate cake was a bit (very much!) too sweet, but the ambience in the centuries old building plus our first taste of an Argentinian hot chocolate (called a submarino - you’ll see why) definitely made up for it.
All our videos are interspersed with us wondering around checking out the city! No home cooking in this video but please have a look at our other ones if your keen on seeing two Kiwis obsessed with Korean food trying to get by with home cooked food in a city which does not really understand the meaning of “spicy”!
Who are we?
We are Tom and Yenny, two New Zealand young professionals who have quit our job and are learning Spanish as we travel through South America! We always like to travel on a budget so please subscribe to see all the places we go and all of our stingy ways of going there!
We love cooking, checking out new places, trying new types of food, beer and wine, camping, and anything else that we haven't tried (outrageous weird foods included!).
Where are we going?
We're travelling throughout every South American country that speaks Spanish and (if we have money left!) heading up to Central America too!
We would LOVE to hear from you about your experiences in South America, your travel experiences or any other tips or thoughts! Please make sure to comment if you've got anything you think we should do while we're here.

What to do in BUENOS AIRES. Best City in South America? Travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina ????????
What should you do in Buenos Aires, Argentina? Well we visit Buenos Aires for the first time and found some absolutely amazing things to do in the city!
We start things off in the Japanese Gardens (Jardín Japonés)! These gardens are quiet and idyllic and feel like an oasis in the middle of the city, they also happen to be the largest gardens of their type outside of Japan.
Next up was a very famous place in Buenos Aires and must-do while in the city- La Recoleta Cemetery. This is considered one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world and contains the graves of some of the most famous and notable people in Argentinian history.
After this we headed to another super notable place in Recoleta, a very famous bookstore called El Ateneo Grand Splendid. Just like the cemetery, it is considered one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world- mainly because it’s situated in a former opera house. You can still see where the stage (now a coffee shop), and opera boxes were.
Lastly we head back to the area we stayed in called Palermo Hollywood to grab some drinks and food. Buenos Aires is full of interesting and diverse restaurants, not just asado which you might expect- but also loads of international foods. We found a place called KOI Beer and Dumplings where we had both beer and delicious dumplings.
ABOUT BUENOS AIRES
Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art.

Visiting the San Telmo Sunday Market in Buenos Aires and eating pizza
In this video in Buenos Aires, we check out the biggest market in Buenos Aires in San Telmo. It's full of really high quality handmade products and great for souvenirs! We saw head scratchers, mate gourds (more about mate later!), cute handmade dolls, Mafalda everything, and loads of other cool stuff.
We then got super HANGRY so went to the first restaurant we saw that was open. It was a decent chain restaurant serving pizza and pasta. We were so hungry that we would have eaten anything, but thankfully it was pretty delicious. The beer was also super refreshing.
Finally we had a quick Starbucks session then went home.
