The natural lake with stunning boulder hills all around makes the theme of this locale.
The road you'll take to reach Sanapur Lake will wind through paddy and banana plantations , before it wiggle around massive boulders precariously overhanging onto the road. Drive to Sanapur Lake and the ambient around the lake has character, you'll savour.
You'll also find local village folks offer coracle ride (fun ride) on the lake.
Sanapur Lake is still a less frequented place. You'll not find a large tourist crowd in this locale.
How to reach
Sanapur is on the opposite side of the river, if you are traveling from Hampi side of the river Tungabhadra. From Virupapur Gaddi (the ferry point near Virupaksha Temple), Sanapur Lake is about 4km. The most convenient way to reach Sanapur is to rent a scooter or bicycle from Virupapur Gaddi area.

Cliff Jumping at Hampi (Sanapur Lake)
After having lunch at Hippi Island, we left for sanapur lake. This volg is dedicated for fun activities at Hampi.

India 2 - Hippie Island in Hampi [Sanapur Lake]

1 month on the road!
Hampi (other side of Hippie Island) has lots and lots of temples. We did a day bicycle tour where we went round all of the temples in one day with a guide. It cost us €6.96 for the whole day, including rental of bike and the tour guide.
We then crossed the river over to Hippie Island which is my favourite place from all our travels so far. Although the name might not suggest it, there are plenty of adventures to have. Also, it's not an island so I'm not sure why it's named that ????????♂️
So on Hippie Island, you can easily rent a motorbike without any problems with the police. It's a biker's dream, with so many beautiful roads. However, I would suggest getting a few lessons if you've never ridden a bike before as there are some very small parts with very bumpy conditions (none of the roads that are in the video are as bad as the ones I'm mentioning).
We stayed at Gowri Hostel and although it was more expensive than our usual stays, it was worth it (approx €5.06 a night). This wasn't the place with the squat toilet, that was on the other side of the river in our first few days.

Day 3 | Hampi | Sanapur Lake
Sanapur Lake is a reservoir fed by Tungabhadra Dam canal. It is beautiful to watch deep blue lake in middle of boulders. You will not be able to see lake till you reach very close to it as it is completely hidden. We were free that day so decided to explore the nearby places also, there are small villages before Sanapur lake and after crossing the lake there is a canal along the road and hills of boulders both the sides which was scenic to watch while riding our Bikes.

On the Last Day , I watched the Sunrise from the Hanuman temple Climbing 575 steps after which Had a Breakfast with an amazing View and then finally Visited the Sanapur Lake Where I SWAM IN THE LAKE and it turned out to be the MOST BEAUTIFUL THING ever...!!!
