Upper Arrow Lake Sandy Beach
Early morning walk on Upper Arrow Lake, BC, Canada.
Nakusp 2019
A motorbike trip over the Monashee pass in British Columbia. I started out in Calgary in the morning, and the video starts in-between Revelstoke and Nakusp as I approach the first ferry along the Arrow lakes. Nakusp and most of the smaller centers in the Kootenays are very quiet places without a lot of traffic which is why I travel here on my bike. Travelling east through the Kootenays brings you to the Okanagan Valley which is much more tourist oriented. very busy mid sized cities, with plenty of beaches, events, and accommodations. If youre travelling on a long weekend and want a motel in the Okanagan be prepared to pay big money! Once out of the Okanagan and still heading west you can exit from the north, and take the old #1 trans Canada from Kamloops to Vancouver which doent have much traffic now that the Coquihalla highway exists, but the Coquihalla is basically an alpine freeway, to get to the coast fast, not so much a sight seers paradise. You can exit from the south via Penticton and take the Hope/Princeton which is very scenic also. For a GREAT bike ride, start in the morning in Penticton, take #97 to Osoyoos. Be sure to head up to the Anarchist Mountain Pass lookout. From there you stand above the US Canada border, and the views are spectacular! Back to Osoyoos and head down the #3 over the Richter Pass to Keremeos, then Back to Penticton. Nice ride! You can take a side trip to White Lake Space Observatory. Officially I think its called the Dominion Space Observatory, but the ride is along winding roads through the desert, and beautiful, even eerie. I could write a book on the interior, and theres just not enough space on my computer to tell you of the go to places. Just go! You can thank me later!

Top 10 Beaches of the West Kootenays Five Mile Point Kootenay Lake
This massive stretch of beach in the West Arm of Kootenay Lake looks like something you'd see in the Caribbean... without all the smoke! Our province is on fire this summer so you'll have to try and look past the haze of wild fire smoke. The sand on this beach is really soft and the water was nice and warm! Great beach for camping or day trips. It's pretty popular and can get busy. Easily in the top 10 for our area on my list!

There is snow on the top of the mountain ranges but never on the ground in Osoyoos. They actually have tumble weeds lol that blow across the country side.

BC Highway 31, Northbound - part 1 of 3 - time lapse
Highway 31 is a route through the Selkirk mountains in British Columbia. The Southern end is at Balfour on Highway 3A where the ferry across Kootenay Lake docks. The Northern end is a few kilometers South of the Galena Bay ferry on Highway 23.
The Highway travels North from Balfour along the West shore of Kootenay Lake passing by a number of small towns and campgrounds.
Many of the towns along here were started as mining towns. Kaslo, where this video ends, is one such town which has many well preserved buildings as well as a restored river boat, the S.S. Moyie.
This was filmed on August 14, 2012.
The music used is Roll On Down the Highway by Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
