[Wikipedia] Sani Monastery
Sani Monastery (also written Sanee), Sa-ni-[tshog], is located next to the village of Sani where the Stod Valley broadens into the central plain of Zanskar in Jammu and Kashmir in northern India. It is about 6 km to the northwest of the regional centre of Padum, a gentle two-hour walk. Like Dzongkhul Monastery, it belongs to the Drukpa Kargyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, and is the only one of this order in Zanskar which has nuns. It is thought to be the oldest religious site in the whole region of Ladakh and Zanskar.

Sani Lake, Zanskar

Being disconnected from the world was a cherry on the cake, offcourse there is an option of getting a new sim but we opted not to which was the best decision we took.

A short walk in Zanskar
Departure from Leh (Ladakh) via Kargil to the Zanskar region, where the trek starts. On the way is Lamayru Monastery and further up before Kargil is Mulbek Gompa, where the statue of Maitreya was carved in the first century B.C. during the Kushan period. The video ends with the Nun Kun Massif, which lies on the great Himalayan range, the highest peak in Ladakh at 7077m.
