Taiwan: Sanxiantai Bridge 三仙台
Sanxiantai (also known as Nuwalian by the aboriginal Amos tribe) is located in the north of Chenggong Township in Taitung County of Taiwan . it is compsed of offshore islands and coral reefs. Odd-shaped rocks are everywhere on the islands, including three huge rocks which have spawned legends about three Chinese saints: Lyu-Dongbin, Li-Tieguai and He-Xiangu. They once boarded on the island, hence the name (Three Saints Island).
Sanxiantai is a geological rock that turned out to be a headland. Gradual erosion cut the neck that connected the mainland to the main island, and thus became offshore islands. Tourists who used to visit this place could only reach the island during low tide. In 1987, the government completed the eight cross-sea arch bridge that crosses over to the island. It was designed in the shape of waves, like a prostrate sea dragon and connects Sanxiantai with Taiwan Island. It has become the most famous landmark on the East Coast.
The entire Sanxiantai area is about 22 hectares with the highest point about 77 meters above sea level. There is a trail that goes around the island, it takes about 2 hours to go around it with no rush. Coral reefs surround the island, because of the strong weathering and erosion that made up the legendary stories about the natural landscape, such as Xian-Jian Gap He-huan holes and Sanxiantai, there are also some natural wonders around, such as the scattered sea trenches, sea caves, sea columns, sea walls to surprise tourists who visit the island.
Sanxiantai is ecologically very rich, because of the lack of human disturbance, screw pine trees can be seen everywhere on the island. It is also a place for the study of coastal plants like the Taiwanese date palm, white dogwood, and bay bean. Sanxiantai is classified as a nature reservation in Taiwan. From the southern tip to Jihui, there are beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish, it is said to be the most beautiful place for the undersea exploration in Taiwan.

Sanxiantai is a small island on the east coast of Taiwan, of Chenggong Township, Taitung County. Strange rock formations are everywhere, including three huge rocks that by legend are the three immortal saints Lyu-Dongbin, Li-Tieguai and He-Xiangu. Sanxiantai or Sansiantai literally means Three Saints Island and can only be reached by crossing an eight-arch bridge designed to look like waves. The weather was horrible when we visited Sanxiantai, but thankfully, the sun peeked a little and blessed us with its rays, enough for some light to illuminate the waters of this majestic sight. Little Ups & Downs, where this Eight Arches Bridge takes you over the ocean to a small island. It's quite the view, even with the unwelcoming rain.
The Three Saints had taken their rest they left three footprints. These are the three massive rocks dominate the small uninhabited island. The island was once connected by a neck of land to the rest of Taiwan but over the millennia this wore away. The striking arched bridge that connects the island to the mainland is not, however, as old as you might think. It was built in 1987 – before that anyone without a boat wishing to visit the island had to wait till low tide and wade over. The bridge’s eight arches, gently undulating, capture the rhythm of a Chinese dragon as it traverses the space between land and island. It is known locally as The Eight Leaped Bridge. It is reminiscent of the architecture of ancient Chinese temples, indicating that this is a place which should be revered by those who visit.
The bridge and island are locally very famous and many tourists come to take in the views and enjoy the pristine natural surroundings. However, situated in the relatively isolate county of Taitung (which has a population of little more than a quarter of a million), the place is never overwhelmed with visitors. Although Taiwan’s twenty two million people are predominantly Han Chinese the area around Sansiantai is home to good sized communities of two aboriginal peoples known as the Amis and the Yami but with others from the remaining 12 happily mingling in as well.

maybe good things always are just like anything, they come as they like. like listening to the mando oldies, that dated back to the 30's-60's, you couldn't help but be surprised that in those warring years, good things(good music) did happen as they should; music cuts through the ages, as in old music only appeal to a group of oldies. youngsters nowadays have their own beats and hums. but as they get older, these tunes would embed into they memories and stay with them for their whole lives.
as he walked thru donggang - that little town, not unlike any of the other towns in taiwan, he was happy to taste the famous local ai-wen mango, the taste of mangoness (that is what makes this fruit the pride of the taiwan mango farmers) brought back memories of the time when he was in the another country famous for its mangoes. she visted him in where he stayed, and they were getting passionate. but they didn't go any further on that day, for those days condoms were not available so readily.

About Pisirian
It is unknown when the Pisirian came to Pisirian. ne thing, however, is known – there were goats aplenty on the spot to greet them. Pisirian sits against the northeast tip of a Coastal Mountain Range spur that juts out into the sea, forming a small peninsula. Wild goats would long come out of the hills to munch on the peninsula-edge grasslands. Just off the headland’s middle is Sanxiantai (“Platform of the Three Immortals”), a major tourist attraction, which once was part of the headland.
The village has been made a place of public art. You’ll come across wood versions of goats everywhere, most moderate in size, a few very large. You’ll also see cute painted-cartoon figures on walls in 11 locations. These are based on the award-winning picture books of the much-loved Taiwan illustrator Jimmy (Jimmy Liao), who wanted to help the community’s tourism-promotion efforts. The direction these characters face shows you where to go on self-guided tours. Among the other sites visited are an open-air workshop, the village-run homestay, and a small stand of areca palms.
The workshop is where “Amis mochi” (made with millet, rice, and sweet potato), traditional-style wedding feasts, etc., have long been prepared. The homestay, beside the cultural center, was long the home of an important fisherman and village leader; before it are low-walled cement tanks the village’s best catch and fry would be showcased in for out-of-town buyers.
Sanxiantai is a small volcanic-rock island of massive black-tinged bluffs said to resemble three Daoist deities, in petrified form, who visited here on an immortal cross-ocean flying journey long ago. You reach it on foot via a long dragon-back-shaped arch bridge. We spent a happy 90 minutes traipsing along the bridge and the island’s easy loop trail. Note that a pleasant bike path to nearby Jihui Fishing Harbor starts at the Sanxiantai parking lot, with rentals available.
Getting There
On Provincial Highway 11, turn toward the coast just north of Chenggong town at the direction sign to Sanxiantai. Along the way is a split (three large shoulder-to-shoulder boulders in the grassy area between), with a sign, again with English, indicating Sanxiantai to the right and Shiyusan to the left. Bear left; Pisirian will appear almost immediately.

Taitung Trip Day 2 - Sanxiantai 台東旅遊第2天 - 三仙台
This is one of most famous spots in Taitung, Sanxiantai. Located along the coastline in Chenggong Township, not far from the county border, Sanxiantai boasts crystal clear blue waters, remarkable stones, and an eight tier bridge that spans over water like a dragon. Sanxiantai means terrace of three saints as there are three rocks that have spawned legends about three saints. The weather was perfect on that day. 這裡有台東最有名的地名之一, 三仙台. 在成功鄉的海岸, 離花蓮縣不遠, 三仙台友清藍的海水, 漂亮的石頭, 還有一個大橋. 那個大橋很特別因為形狀是一條龍. 三仙台的意思是在島上有三把石頭, 各有傳奇的故事, 是關於三個仙. 那天的天氣完美.
