Erin and Davey are American expats living in Luxembourg. Together, these college sweethearts caught the travel bug while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. Over the past 15 years, they've established home bases in Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles while traveling to many international destinations. This vlog is a way to share their adventures with friends and family and it's also a time capsule for when they're old and grey.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAVEL
Hi everyone ! i hope youre all doing well, as you might not know, my biggest dream is to be a travel documentarist. Im more than passionate by different cultures and landscapes hiking and all that good stuff. Ethnic minorities as you will see in this video are truly fascinating to me. Ok so lets begin
located at 1600m altitude, near the Chinese border, the region of sapa with its multiple ethnic minorities and magnificent rice terrace is the starting point of the adventure to discover the authentic villages and beautiful landscapes.

Finally we were able to get a bus to Sapa from Lao Cai station late afternoon and this was our third day in Vietnam. The journey was beautiful and reminded me of the North East India.
We reached Sapa by early evening and after lot of negotiations got Bike taxis till our homestay
We spent the rest of the evening chilling at the very cosy and beautiful outdoors of the homestay looking into the Sapa valley rice paddies and nearby hills.

Hiking in SAPA with a Hmong villager | Sapa Loop part 4 | Vietnam Vlog 20
In Sapa and hiking with a local Hmong villager. Simply by walking around the town of Sapa we were approached by at least 10 different local Hmong women who offered to take us on a hiking tour. We settled with Zee because she seemed the most fun.

Sapa city in Vietnam is one of the greatest attractions in the northern part of Vietnam. This place is very popular specially among the foreigners because of the attractive landscapes. Therefore Sapa Vietnam trekking is very popular and a life time experience.
Sapa can be reached very easily from Hanoi city. You could take an private vehicle, bus, sleeper bus or even train. By sleeper bus, it will be a six hour drive. (Look here for our Sapa sleeper bus experience:
It is very easy to arrange your Sapa Vietnam trekking. You can easily contact your hotel/home stay staff and then they will coordinate you a Sapa trekking tour guide.
There are several application also available for Sapa Vietnam trekking routes. But we do personally suggest you to have a local guide with you for any emergency situations and for support, unless you are traveling with a team.
Several Sapa trekking packages are available like half a day package, full day package etc. You could select your trekking path as per your wish.

Sapa Hmong Homestay
With its rolling hills of rice terraces, Sapa looks like something out of a painting. Thanks to Ocean Tours, I recently got to visit this insanely beautiful region of northwestern Vietnam, learn about the Hmong hill tribe, trek through mountains and waterfalls, and enjoy a secluded home stay.
If you plan to visit Sapa, Vietnam, I highly suggest you book your trip through Ocean Tours. It was an incredible experience and they take care of EVERYTHING (food, transportation, accommodation, guides, and trekking). Plus, they have a couple of options available to fit your budget.
[Ocean Tours sponsored the trip for me, but all opinions expressed in this video are my own.]

About Me:
My name is Kevin Cook. I'm originally from Dallas, TX, but I've been living and traveling in Asia since 2013.
After graduating from university in 2011 and working a few unfulfilling jobs, I saved enough money to move to Asia and work as a teacher for a few years. That opportunity allowed me to travel around and experience new foods and cultures, and ignited a passion for blogging and making videos.
Now I travel full-time and make videos with the goal that I can encourage YOU to pursue your own dream of overseas traveling and living.

Sapa Trek - too much 'Happy Water' for our guide!
An amazing trek in Sapa - in the highlands of Vietnam, with the women who live in the mountains there. This lady however 'Mumma Son', had a little too much rice wine (or happy water), making the trek a little slower than usual!
