Saryazd, Sassani Fortress, Iran
on the famous trade route from the east, this would have been the last stop before the town of Yazd. The fortress was used to store grains, valuables and people. Of course, apart from goats, it is mainly sheep you can spot nearby.

IRAN Bam Citadel
am[1] (Persian: بم) is a city in and the capital of Bam County, Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 73,823, in 19,572 families.[2]
The modern Iranian city of Bam surrounds the Bam citadel. Before the 2003 earthquake the official population count of the city was roughly 43,000.[3] There are various opinions about the date and reasons for the foundation of the citadel. Some people believe[who?] that Bam city was founded during the Parthian Empire. Economically and commercially, Bam occupied a very important place in the region and was famed for its textiles and clothes. Ibn Hawqal (943–977), the Arab traveller and geographer, wrote of Bam in his book Surat-ul-`ard (The Earth-figure)
Alamut Castle in Iran
Alamut Castle was a mountain-top fortress built over 1000 years ago roughly 100 km northwest of present-day Tehran. Only a small portion of the castle is currently open for visitors, as archaeological work is ongoing, but the view from up top is still fantastic. Although little remains today, it was once a very secure fortress and the nearby countryside is filled with interesting geological formations.

Come explore Yazd’s old #downtown where you can see #traditional adobe homes with breathtaking views of the city, explore underground water channels, see the unique wind towers, and admire the city’s fascinating architecture.
بی شک یزد با بافت تاریخی اش #یزد است وقتی، همه چیز راهش را از گذشته پیدا کرده و بدون تغییر فقط با زمان همراه شده. یزد/ یک روز #بهاری/ حوالی ساعت 6 عصر/ بافت تاریخی.
کوچه های باریک و پیچ در پیچ و خانه های درهم تنیده با دیواره های بلند و خشتی و #بادگیر هایی که بعد از پیچ هر #کوچه به چشم می آیند. #پیرزن های چادررنگی ساده و صمیمیِ پشت به دیوار که به رسم دیروز، سال هاست هر #عصر تا #اذان شام را با هم به سر می کنند و جزئی از تاریخِ کهن این شهرند. نور اریب تابیده از #طاق ها روی سنگفرش کوچه، صدای زنگ #دوچرخه پیرمرد دستار بر سر و بوی نان آمیخته با #کاهگل، هیاهوی سرخوشانه بچه ها، درب های چوبی دو کوبه ای، صدای دستگاه شعربافی که با #سلام علیک مرد رهگذر و پیرمرد شعرباف در هم می آمیزد. و مغازه هایی با کرکره های آهنی و درب های چوبی که انگار همچنان در گذشته مانده اند.همین قدر دلربا، ساده و تماشایی.
#لبخند به غم ها و تلاش برای گذران زندگی در #بافت تاریخی یزد زیباتر و قابل ستایش تر از هرجای دیگر است. در این کوچه ها هر چند کوتاه، دور می شوی از رنج های دوران و غرق می شوی در سکوتِ میان این همه هیاهو.
