Sarushima Island is a small island located off Yokosuka, Kanagawa in Japan. It is the only natural & uninhabited Island.
Swimming, barque on Sarushima, which makes it is a popular fishing spot.

Access :
From Yokohama Station to Yokosuka-Chuo Station, Keikyu Line : 30 min.
From Yokosuka-Chuo Station, walk to Mikasa Pier: 15 min.
From Mikasa Pier to Sarushima by boat: 10 min to 15 min.
Ferry Times:
First ferry from Mikasa to Sarushima leaves at 8:30 A.M. Last ferry from Sarushima to Mikasa leaves at 5:00 P.M.
Price :
1300 yen for round trip ferry fare (adult) + 200 yen entry fee to Sarushima.

Sarushima (猿島 Saru-shima, meaning Monkey Island in the Japanese language), is a small island located off Yokosuka, Kanagawa in Japan. It is the only natural island in Tokyo Bay. Sarushima was used as a battery by the Tokugawa shogunate during the Edo period, and after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the island was developed as part of the Yokosuka Navy Yard.
Matthew C. Perry named the island Perry Island in 1853.

Day Trip From Tokyo To Monkey Island Yokosuka - Part 1
Monkey Island, or Sarushima in Japanese, is just off the coast of Yokosuka and is a lovely day trip away from the city. Head to Mikasa Park and then look for the ferry terminal. You buy your tickets at the ticket office right at the entrance to where you board the ferry. For adults the cost is 1,200 JPY and for children it's 600 JPY.

Please come to Monkey Island, 10 minutes by boat from Mikasa Park, Yokosuka Chuo Station is the closer station.

In this movie you can see travel to American town near Tokyo an island named Sarushima. It was lovely time, we went to eat American style burger and from the very beginning it's so easy to guess that this kind of porcion is not a standard one (compare to the basic burger in Japan)... you can see it in the movie. The other part of the video shows SPECIAL PLACE! The main point of our trip. Full of nature and paths. This island is connected with a war, so things which you can see there is a leftover after it. Really old one.
