Around 22 km away from Mangalore is the remarkable Sasihithlu Beach. It is located just two km before NITK Surathkal, Mukka. The beach has stunning white sand adding to the beauty of it and is indeed a picturesque location to admire. The blueish sea bordered with this white sand looks immensely enthralling like the Milky Way
The cool breeze and the silent waves are truly splendid and relaxing. The soothing waves caress the white sand in a calm and serene way providing a soothing relief. The island of Munda surrounded by the rivers Shambhavi and Nandini on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other side making the place an outstanding spot for tourists.

Sasihithlu beach, my favorite destination around NITK Surathkal | Aditya Dev
Sashihitlu beach, a beautiful beach where the river meets the sea. A bit outside the city of mangalore, accessible by public transport too. The road to the beach runs parallel to the sea and the drive is worth it.
Sashihitlu beach is probably the calmest beach nearby Mangalore city. Not many people visit the place. But the place is gaining popularity because of good, clean shores and peaceful surroundings. The place is very good for spending a day with the family or friends. There are one or two shops selling soft drinks and snacks. For more, you have to carry it yourself. The place is little inside so don't expect all facilities what is normal at a more popular beachfront. Its a good place for surfing. India Open Surfing festival is being organized here every year.

The Place where River meets the Sea | My first MotoVlog | Sasihithlu Beach | Mangalore
This is my first moto vlog. I visited the hidden shore line of Mangalore that is Sasihithlu beach. It is way inside from the main road near Surathkal. The place where the river meets the sea, this place has a huge shore line.
This place has a beautiful sunset view point and it is great place to spend with your loved one. You have place to sit and relax, the tree shades makes the place cooler. The backwater of the river view is amazing, it is at the other side of the beach shore line. The beach is situated almost 22 kms from Mangalore.

Driving through Sasihithlu Beach Road Mangalore
A beautiful beach hidden from the crowd. Nice place to spend few hours. Basic facilities are available here. There are some 2 shops which sell few eatables, pay and use toilets, and shaded area to relax. The route to the beach is covered with trees on both the sides. Nice relaxing atmosphere and you get most of the beach to yourself.

Mangalore Surathkal Lighthouse | Surathkal Beach Mangalore Tourism Karnataka tourism South India
Mangalore Surathkal Lighthouse at Surathkal Beach, Suratkal Mangalore Tourism Karnataka tourism South India. Surathkal lighthouse construction work was started in 1969 and was completed by 1972. Surathkal is a suburb of Mangalore city located on National highway 66 (previously as NH-17) in the Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka state, India , on the shore of Arabian sea. The light house is opposite the NITK Surathkal. This lighthouse offers a panaromic view of the scenic beachfront of the Surathkal beach. Shree Sadashiva Mahaganapathi Temple is adjacent to the lighthouse which is perched atop the rocks. The presence of rocks make it dangerous to swim in these waters. Clean Quiet beach with an amazing view of the Sunset. The climb up this lighthouse is worth it as you get a mesmerizing sight of the horizon with ships sailing in and out of the port , the long sea line on either side , fishermen with their small boats sailing on the waves and the beautiful green countryside.
Surathkal is 8 kilometres north of New Mangalore seaport. According to legend, the name Surathkal is derived from shiratakal meaning headstone in local language of Tulu. Legend has it that the famous Sadashiva Temple is built around that piece of the Shivalinga. According to Hindu mythology, once Lord Ganesha had kept a Shivalinga that belonged to Ravana on the ground. When Ravana tried to pick it up from the ground it could not be moved. Upon applying force to move it, the linga broke into pieces. The head piece of the linga is said to have fallen in present day Surathkal and hence the name of the place. Surathkal is 360 kms from Bangalore.
Karnataka tourism and Mangalore tourism offers many other places of interest nearby such as Sultan Battery ,Kadri Hill Park, Bejai Museum, Pilkula Park and Golf Course, Kudroli Gokarnath Temple, Panambur Beach, Tannirbavi Beach, Aloysius Chapel, Kapu beach, St. Mary’s Island, near Malpe beach and many more.
