Great Southwest -- Great Sandhills & River Routes
The Great Sandhills are one of the largest set of active sand dunes in Canada. The dunes are always moving, creating an ever-changing landscape.
Visit the Great Sandhills Museum & Interpretive Centre, see larger-than-life wildlife sculptures in the Town of Leader, and explore area art galleries, museums and antique shops.
The Great Sandhills are 47 km southeast of Leader, 137 km south of Kindersley and 157 km northwest of Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Great Annual Saskatchewan Pedal 2010 (GASP)
The Saskatchewan Cycling Association is pleased to present the Great Annual Saskatchewan Pedal a multi-day bicycle tour of some of the greatest prairie frontier in North America.
The Great Annual Saskatchewan Pedal or GASP is an eight day event that starts on July 17th, 2010.
You can join for the whole tour or two-day options are available.
This years tour begins and ends in the Town of Outlook,
and explores the South Saskatchewan River Valley including Lake Diefenbaker.
Along the way the tour will be visiting the communities of Outlook, Dinsmore, Wiseton, Elrose, Eston, Lancer, Abbey, Shackleton, Cabri, Pennent, Success, Swift Current, Stewart Valley, Kyle, Beechy, Lucky Lake, Riverhurst, Central Butte, Elbow, Loreburn, Hawarden and Broderick.
The tour crosses the South Saskatchewan River
on four occasions: at the Outlook Highway Bridge ,
on a six-car reaction ferry near Lancer,
at the Saskatchewan Landing Bridge,
and on the eighteen-car cable ferry
crossing Lake Diefenbaker near Riverhurst.
There will also be an opportunity to cross
the Skytrail Bridge at Outlook
the longest pedestrian bridge in Canada.
GASP is an opportunity to experience the landscape,
History, and people of Saskatchewan from a unique perspective
from the seat of a bicycle.
Cyclists travel at their own pace on this van-supported tour.
The vans provide luggage transfer between communities, refreshment and nutrition stops along the route
as well as support to cyclists in distress.
GASP is a volunteer organized, non-fundraising tour.
People join the tour for the pleasure and challenge of distance cycling,
but their memories are of the majestic prairie landscape and of the down-to-earth hospitality of rural Saskatchewan.
More detail, including registration information,
is available at saskcycling.ca.

This is a very quick tutorial on how to use Google Earth to find awesome metal detecting sites. It focus on the Time Bar and the roads section. I am currently using it to study an empty field where an old nursing home used to be.
