Southern Africa Family Trip vlog 2019: Victoria Falls, South Africa, Cape Town, Kruger National Park
In August 2019, we took an amazing family trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. Our journey began in Victoria Falls, where we swam in Devil's Pool and made day trips into Zambia and to Chobe National Park in Botswana. Then, we flew down to Cape Town. We visited Table Mountain, Langa Township, and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, before taking a day trip out to the beautiful Cape of Good Hope. We spent 2 nights in Simonstown, and loved visiting the friendly penguins at Boulders Beach! Finally, we flew to Johannesburg, drove the gorgeous Panorama Route to Kruger National Park, and spent 5 nights on safari, splitting our time between Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge and Hamilton's Tented Camp on the Mluwati Concession.
We saw incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes, and met some of the friendliest people! Africa definitely has our hearts, and we hope to one day be back.
Filmed on GoPro Hero 7 Black, Canon 77D and iPhone 6.

Namibia Boat Safari Chobe Savanna
We were in the Caprivi Strip in Namibia. At the Chobe Savanna Lodge we were right on the Chobe River. Across the river on all sides was Botswana which we had to pass through on our way from Victoria Fall in Zambia.
The Islands of Siankaba
As we arrived at our lodge, we were greeted with dancing and singing by women of the local church, many who also worked at the lodge or whose husbands worked at the lodge. Our arrival was made special, as was everything it seemed as we traveled throughout southern Africa.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge - The Vulture Restaurant
The 'Vulture restaurant' at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge -- a conservation exercise to help maintain local vulture populations - is open for business at 1pm daily and always attracts hundreds of raptors which flock to gorge on their specially prepared meal, served in a small clearing below the deck of the lodge's famous Buffalo Bar.
The feeding exercise is a popular attraction with Lodge residents as well as visitors from other hotels. Well before lunch, the birds, including white-backed and hooded vultures circle the skies above the lodge in eager anticipation. The Lodge's resident guides accompany guests to the site, where they serve up lunch. An enthralling frenzy ensues as the birds fight ferociously over the best place at the feeding table.

Safari Tanzania! Experience Southern Tanzania Safari with Sand & Safari Company [HD]
When people imagine a safari without realizing it they are visualizing Tanzania. From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the white sandy shores of the Indian Ocean it truly is the ultimate Sand & Safari destination.
Our Tanzania is wild and adventurous with an old world safari style. Each park unique and diverse. We want to tailor make your tour and design it to your individual requirements. Blending your ideas and interests with our intimate knowledge.
Sand
There is no better way to end your safari than on the white sandy shores of the Indian Ocean. Kick back and relax. We can organize it all from a boutique hotel in Stone Town to a secluded beach villa or resort. Tanzania has it all from the Islands of Zanzibar, Mafia or Pemba. Why not explore our underwater wildlife with a diving or snorkeling trip. Let's not forget the mainland has some incredible beach locations too.
Northern Tanzania Safaris
With snow capped Kilimanjaro, vast plains of the Serengeti, red cloaked Maasai warriors and wildlife packed Ngorongoro Crater, these iconic attractions have drawn tourists in their hundreds of thousands for decades. But wait there's more! Mt Meru, the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara and Arusha all add to the diversity of this popular region. The close proximity of all the attractions make for easy tranfers allowing for more time relaxing or on safari.
Southern Tanzania Safaris
A visit to the south of Tanzania and its parks is well off the beaten track. Unlike the north the south receives far less visitors and animals far outnumber 4x4 vehicles! We live nearby in the Southern highlands and have been sending tourists into the regions parks. They always remark that they've enjoyed the contrast over the hectic northern parks and their abundance of tourists. The south offers much better value for money with park fees being considerably lower and with camps of a high standard. The south will provide you with an authentic safari experience within it's various remote and unspoiled parks. This circuit can be arranged with 4x4 vehicle or light aircraft. We also offer escorted safaris. All safaris are tailor made to suit your interests and requirements. Add on Zanzibar to complete your Sand & Safari experience.
Western Tanzania
A few words help sum up the west of the country... Raw, remote, vast, rewarding. Still very much as it was when Stanley found Livingstone here back in 1871. Travel must be meticulously arranged, that's where we come in. The region is largely trackless therefore more adventurous. It contains 2 of the worlds finest Chimp encounter opportunities, made famous thanks to Jane Goodalls incredible research in Gombe Stream NP.
A safari here is intense and unforgettable. Animal numbers can be astounding. Few visitors to the region promises apart from your expert guides you will have the place to yourselves.

1960s AFRICA TRAVELOGUE w/ SAFARI ANIMALS, VICTORIA FALLS, MOUNTAINS OF MOON 76584
Created by Ronold E. Shanin, who became well known for the African wildlife epics Rivers of Fire and Ice (1968) and Touch the Sky (1974), Camera Thrills in Wildest Africa shows Victoria Falls, and the rich wilderness of the interior savannah including elephants, hippos, gazelle, dingos, lions, and more. At the 2:30 mark is a visit to the Ituri Forest near the Mountains of the Moon, where the Bambuti (aka Mbuti) pygmy tribe is seen. An expedition to the Mountains of the Moon is then seen, with porters carrying supplies up the same trails where Lord Stanley once walked. The film ends on the roof of Africa, with frozen Mount Stanley shown and the erupting volcano Mt. Nyamuragira in the Virunga Mountains located 100 miles away.
The Mbuti population lives in the Ituri Forest, a tropical rainforest covering about 70,000 km2 of the north/northeast portion of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bambuti are pygmy hunter-gatherers, and are one of the oldest indigenous people of the Congo region of Africa. The Bambuti are composed of bands which are relatively small in size, ranging from 15 to 60 people. The Bambuti population totals about 30,000 to 40,000 people. There are four distinct cultures within the Bambuti. These are
The Efé, who speak the language of a neighboring Sudanic people, Lese.
The Sua AKA Kango AKA Mbuti, who speak a dialect (or perhaps two) of the language of a neighboring Bantu people, Bila.
The Asua, the only Mbuti people with their own language, which is closely related to that of the neighboring Sudanic Mangbetu.
The term BaMbuti (Mbuti) is therefore confusing, as it has been used to refer to all the pygmy peoples in the Ituri region in general, as well as to a single subgroup in the center of the Ituri forest.
Around 2500 BCE, the Ancient Egyptians made reference to a people of the trees that could have been the Mbuti

Mazungu: Canoeing the Congo
At 2922 miles long the Congo River is Africa's second longest with a flow rate second only to the Amazon. It flows through savannah, swamp and dense tropical rainforest before finally draining into the Atlantic Ocean. Due to generations of political instability, corruption and civil war, not to mention crocodiles, hippos, cannibals and huge white-water, the area has been given a wide berth by all but the most adventurous.
This documentary follows solo canoeist ex Royal Marine Phil Harwood as he completes a hair-raising descent of the mighty Congo River in Central Africa from source to sea. He sets out to learn as much as possible about the river people and their lives while trying to avoid the many dangers presented by nature and man.
This fascinating programme features incredible footage of previously unseen nature and a succession of unique adventures as Phil takes a five month trip down river in his trusty canoe.
