Tulbagh Arts Festival 2015 at Twee Jonge Gezellen
Friday 11 September, we hosted a dining extravaganza as part of the Tulbagh Arts Festival 2015 at Twee Jonge Gezellen.
Johnny Hamman & Marius Uys, winners of Kokkedoor cooked a 4-course culinary experience with an unexpected twist. The meal included MCC and wines by Krone.
This was, however, no ordinary wine and dine. Ten musical artists treated our 100 guests to impromptu performances.
Our guests loved the impromptu performances by: Albert Frost, Stanislav Angelov, Philip de Vos, Phillipus Hugo, Simon Bannister and Alessandro Gigli.
We also launched The Phoenix—a Méthode Cap Classique that has spent a decade on the lees…
To celebrate this, artist Simon Bannister set fire to a four metre sculpture of a phoenix sculpture and the crowd gathered round the flaming inferno, toasting the spectacle with glasses of The Phoenix itself.
On Saturday, 12 September, Simon Max Bannister exhibited his bronze sculptures ‘preflight’ in our underground cellar.
Bannister is a visual artist who is passionate about the feeling of wilderness. In this exhibition, through bronze, he focused on birds of prey. His splintered forms reflect fractured textures, lives and landscapes.
This was followed by more live music, oysters and, of course, plenty of Krone MCC on our tasting deck.
