Jul 2017: Bruges, Scotland & Ireland (British Isles) Cruise from Amsterdam on Vision of the Seas

Help me reach my goal:
(YouTube new rules requires me to have 1K subs now). Much appreciated!
A summary of our 12 nights British Isles Cruise on Vision of the Seas, going to Belgium (Zeebruge, Bruges), Scotland (Edinburgh, Invergordon, Greenock (Glasgow) and Ireland (Dublin, Cobh) and St Peter Port from 6/27/17 -7/9/17 and we stayed 2 nights before the cruise in Amsterdam at Holiday Inn Express - Schiphol, convenient, comfortable and great service.
Sorry for some little mistakes/typos. The taxi fare at the Port in Invergordon was 40 GDP/hr (not Euros), minimum 4 hours that you can share up to 4 persons to go to Bealy Priory, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle & Inverness.
Notes: For Internet, buy UK SIM Card on ebay ($2/ea)- from three.co.uk then top up at mobiletopup.co.uk to pay for top up voucher code using paypal (20 GDP for 12 GB of data) then call 444 select option 2 to buy the Add-on, enter voucher code to get 12 GB of roaming. Once activated, each top up is good for 30 days, limit to 2 top up per year. It worked very well for me.
1/ Amsterdam: buy day pass/train tickets from Discover Holland; Canal Cruise tks w/ Groupon Int 17Euros for two; 2/ Bruges: Free shuttle bus to get outside the port then walk 15 mins to train station Zeebrugge-Dorp (see video) to take the train to Bruges (6.20E/pp/rt ) that you can buy online ahead of time and print tickets to take with you and show to the inspector on the train to scan. Train schedule:
At the port, they might tell you that Zeebrugge-Dorp train station doesn't exist (they said to me!) so you buy their shuttle bus tickets to Blankenberge train station (further away), so insist on the free shuttle. In Brugge, Canal Boat Tour (8 EUR/pp– lasts 30 min) 3/ Before travelling to Scotland, buy EXPLORER PASS 3 Day Scotland good for 3 days unlimited entry to castles £24.8/pp.
4/Edinburgh: Bus # 10 is the most direct route into Edinburgh, although the no 7,11, and 16 all pass nearby. Download bus app which tells you exactly where and when to take which bus to your destination. Book Heart of Scotland Tours through Viator.com using referral link for USD $10 off toward your first purchase on Viator.
5/Greenock/Glasgow: Wifi at Cruise Terminal. Sign up for 2 hrs free tours at
You can also take the train from the nearby Greenock Central train station; which is only a 15-minute walk from the Terminal to Glasgow. scotrail.co.uk 7GDP/pp rt ticket.
6/ Dublin: livingsocial for Do Dublin tks (8 Euros/pp). Take local bus to downtown, get off when you see the Spire ( stainless steel, pin-like monument, 120 metres tall), walk to Do Dublin office on O'Connell St to redeem voucher and take the Hop On Hop off from there;
7/Cobh: Blarney Castle - Buy half day/5hrs tour (36Euros/pp) or full day Blarney&Kinsale/8hrs tour (49Euros/pp) at
The gardens are 60 +acres. Poison gardens & many trails (witch's stone, wishing steps etc..) are very interesting so make sure to have time for them.
8/St. Peter Port, Guernsey: easy to go around. Public bus 91 (1GDP/pp) does a circular route around the coast.
Happy travels!

A most wonderful send off from Liverpool for Queen Mary 2. Thousands lined Princes Dock and everywhere along the banks of The Mersey as far as one could see. Even though nearly midnight it was great to see so many enthusiastic people cheering, waving, whistling & flashing car lights. QM2 blew her horns at least 4 maybe 5 times 23:15 - 23:35 20 October 2009
Getting off the train with my mountain bike at Scotscalder Station, to ride to Altnabreac
This video shows a few minutes of train journey between Altnabreac and Scotscalder before showing me getting off the train at Scotscalder with my mountain bike. From there I rode the 18 miles or so along some very rough dirt trails to Altnabreac (reputedly Britain's most isolated mainline railway station), before catching a return train from there back to Forsinard, where I stayed. This was part of a mountain biking tour of northern Scotland I took in July 2012.

Cruise Ship Tender Boats Firth Of Forth Near Edinburgh Scotland

These boats were tendering passengers to and from the Queen Elizabeth liner, named after Her Majesty the Queen, to Hawes Pier in South Queensferry. On cruise ships, lifeboat tenders do double duty, serving as tenders in day-to-day activities, but fully equipped to act as lifeboats in an emergency.
