My WORST Scuba Diving Day in Coron, Palawan - Philippines Vlog (Episode 7)
We started our day scuba diving in Irako and went down to 39 meters. On the second dive, though, I failed to go down, everyone left me alone and I had to go back to the surface. Bruno still managed to dive and visit Akitsushima and Okikawa.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING CORON Palawan Philippines | Vlog Episode by Roaming Tourist Productions
What was the most adventurous thing I've ever done lately? Curious? Just watch it!
As I turned 37, I've decided to take a U-turn. I lived in United States for the last 16 years. Lately, my life is filled with mixture of serendipity and zemblanity. So, I've decided to pack my bags and I flew back home to my homeland to go on vacation and explore it.
And so, I did it! I explored parts of Philippines that were unknown to me and that I only saw in Philippine history books during elementary, high school and of course the world wide web. My first stop was Dingalan, Aurora. The second was Coron and third was El Nido which are both in Palawan. Currently, I am in search for more adventure and learning new skills.
There were two nerve-racking things happened while filming this episode. First, I went scuba diving for the very first time. I have to reveal, I don't know how to swim. LITERALLY! Currently, I enrolled myself in swimming lessons. (It's never too late to learn something new). My goal is to get PADI dive license so I can swim with the sea turtles, whales and see more coral reefs! That would be a-w-e-s-o-m-e!
When I was about to go and dive, I felt so nervous, under pressured, and stressed out. There were a lot of things going through my head. It's like working in a big retail pharmacy like CVS and Wal-Mart for the very first time times 20! When I was underwater, I felt a sense of serenity, I felt alone but not lonely. It was peaceful. Diving for the first time felt like I'm about to face death but in a contented way. I felt confident but vulnerable at the same time. All my senses were constantly working during that time. I cannot believe what I saw under the sea! There were so many sea creatures and I saw shipwrecks from 1944. Hey, I haven't found a job yet but I surely found Nemo! Even up to now, my experience was so vivid. While underwater, all I could hear was my breathing from the air in the tank and the bubbles coming out of my mouthpiece. The surroundings were quiet. Dive Master and I used hand signals to understand each other. There were times I found myself having a difficult time equilibrating, so I wiggle my hands so he can see it. But most times I give an A-OK sign that I'm doing great! One has to equilibrate to go down deeper under water. Sometimes I found that my right ear equilibrates but not my left ear. The second dive at the Coral Reef Garden, I swallowed water by mistake and some water got stuck in my lungs. But I coughed it away after a day and I felt better. Ahhh... I am loving the ocean. It's a totally different world! Makes me want to sing the Little Mermaid song (Part of your world). I felt like I achieved something that I can't explain - something intangible. I felt I am in control of myself and every decision I make. I felt like I'm in a movie and I am the main character. While I was underwater, I felt unstoppable. To me, traveling solo opened doors to new adventure, I met new people from different walks of life. And that if I were to go out with my parents in Palawan, they would reprimand my choice to go and dive outright.
Second, I took courage to fly my DJI Mavic Pro Platinum drone in the middle of the sea. Keep in mind, scuba diving happened the second day of my Coron, Palawan adventure. Meanwhile, back in Manila, my parents had found out that I was in Palawan and they called and send several messages on my cellphone uncontrollably while I was in the middle of drone navigation. (FYI, I had to use my iPhone 7 plus to connect to the drone on land) Hence, the drone got disconnected. DJI Mavic Pro lost its connection while it was up in the air. I thought my miniature aircraft will fall straight in the deep blue water in a matter of seconds. I was sweating buckets. I had to ask the captain of the boat to make a U-turn to get close to the drone so the remote can connect the signal back to it. Everyone in the boat was freaking out. I have to stay calm because I was in control - Heck, I had the remote. My poor unmanned aircraft was paused and was 100 meters up in the air. When we were close and the drone was directly above our boat, the signal was back on the remote reads aircraft connected. I safely land the drone in the boat's tiny deck. Whew! That was a close one! I thought I won't see my drone again and I will have a dive master get my drone underwater. Yikes!
When life throws you lemons, make lemonade and yes, lots of it!
Thank you for watching. It's been a wonderful adventure and I am glad that you are a part of my journey...

Diving WW2 Wrecks in Coron, Philippines + We Crash!!!!
We freedive on the mind blowing WW2 wrecks in Coron. These are by far the largest and best preserved wrecks I have ever seen! We dive the East Tangat wreck, the Ikikawa Maru and the Morazan Maru. All 3 wrecks sank during air raids during WW2.
If you're keen to pick up some freediving gear head to:
To stay at the house boat:
To pick up a dive torch:
To head to the Philippines:
Scuba Diving in El Nido, Philippines
I absolutely love scuba diving. If you are ever in Southeast Asia that is the place to get you PADI or SSI dive license. It's relatively inexpensive and there is so much cool marine life.
Once you are certified, 1 dive is usually around 30 USD.
Music:
Medieval - Fake Blood
Cold Water Music - Aim
Human (Marian Hill Remix) - Aquilo
On my second dive I likely popped my ear drum but it's fully healed now. I've always had bad sinuses so it is harder for me to equalize the pressure but this is not common at all!
ALL filmed using Gopro Hero 4 Silver.
World Class SCUBA DIVING: Huge Shipwrecks in CORON, Philippines (4k, GoPro)
Philippines and especially Coron is an awesome spot to go diving. Coron is full with old japanese shipwreck from WWII fleeing from American bombers in 1944. It was like being in a movie like the Abyss. But it was kind of a challenge for me but I was rewarded with the best ever dive. I very happy to share this video.
Coron Palawan Philippines is wonderful. World class island hopping and turquoise water. It is paradise for adventure travel, but the Scuba diving in Coron is as awesome.
Thank you very much for watching!

FREEDIVING | Beginner Course in Barracuda Lake, Coron
I grew up in the Philippines going to the beach every weekend. I pretty much learned how to swim in the ocean. My parents were scuba divers and I'd always be stuck at the surface with my snorkel. I'd constantly dive down to try to reach them and that is how I began to naturally become a freediver. I never knew any freedivers and wanted to meet people who shared the same interest, so I booked my beginner course in Coron because Barracuda lake is one of my favorite places on Earth. If I was going to be properly trained, it would be there.
The first day, we did not get to record because we focused on learning. We sat in the classroom and learned yoga breathing techniques, proper freediving posture, and rescue. I made it to 15 meters (50ft.) on the first day, where you meet the thermocline. This lake has a different thermocline than most bodies of water because it is fresh water mixed with a little of salt water. As you reach 15m, it gets drastically warm, as if you are entering a jacuzzi. It was a very unique experience. I was also greeted by a very large Barracuda as I was doing a dive.
The second day, we were able to record and enjoy at the end. I was able to reach 20 meters (65ft.). I also got to go through this small tunnel at 15m, which was a thrilling experience for me.
I cannot wait to return for my advanced course in the future!

DIVING IN CORON (PHILIPPINES)!!!!!!
Coron has some of the most intense wreck diving in South East Asia! I spent 5 days with my amazing Canadian friend Grant exploring 10 of the Japanese WWII military vessels. This is only a little glimpse of the adventure that awaits on this tiny island. Visibility isn't always the best, but this just adds to the underwater mystery. Swimming through tight portholes, wading down enclosed chambers, and much more!
CORON PALAWAN ( Free diving & Island hopping) Philippines travel vlog
Island hopping in Coron Palawan Philippines!
In this travel vlog I join Exploring with Cody in a Filipino adventure to visit Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, Barracuda lake, and Skeleton Wreck. These incredible islands have been called the most beautiful in the world. If you plan to travel South East Asia, this has to be on your bucket list. It is definitely one of the best places to travel in the Philippines
We had a couple days between scuba diving the shipwrecks of Coron Bay, and exploring El Nido, Palawan. We decided to spend it Island hopping in Coron with our friend Jette. We wanted to do the tour a little bit differently, so we organized a private boat for us three, and left an hour earlier than other boats. This paid off in the end, because these islands are getting very very busy, and we were able to miss most of the crowds.

SHIPWRECK SCUBA / CORON PHILIPPINES ???????? / TERU KAZE MARU WRECK
IN WORLD WAR TWO, the Philippines archipelago was the site of several fierce battles between US and Japanese forces. During the Battle of the Philippines in 1941 and 1942, Japan invaded Luzon from the north and attacked Manila from the land.
US and Filipino troops, led by General MacArthur, retreated to the Bataan Peninsula. The fall of Bataan, on 9 April, 1942, signalled the victory of Japan in Manila and the northern Philippines. The Bataan Death March is an indelible icon of the brutality of this period of the war.
As American forces battled to liberate the Philippines, the Battle of the Philippine Sea took place between 19-20 June, 1944, followed by the Battle of Leyte Gulf that October. Between these two battles, the US Navy launched a strike force of fighters and bombers to attack a Japanese supply fleet of up to 24 ships at anchor in Coron Bay and around nearby Busuanga Island on 24 September.
THE WRECK - The Teru Kaze Maru is a gunboat or submarine-hunter that lies in very shallow water on the east side of Tangat Island. Starting in only 3m and dropping to 22, it’s as good for snorkellers as divers.
Part 2 | Freediving Barracuda Lake -- The Coron Trip, Travel and Dive
Traveled to Coron via Busuanga and dive-explored the beautiful dive spots in the area. For three days, we dove Barracuda lake, ship wrecks and the Cathedral. Most of the shots in this video were taken from barracuda lake. Visibility in some of the spots was not good.

Scuba Diving Girls: Wreck diving IJN Akitsushima, Coron Philippines
Wreck Diving in Coron, Philippines on the IJN Akitsushima (Seaplane Flying Boat Tender).
She is a Japanese Seaplane Tender (Flying Boat Tender) with approx 110 m length and located between Culion & Busuanga Islands in Palawan Philippines. She is lying on port side in about 36m of warm water.
During WW2 she was first hit in Chuuk Lagoon (Truk Lagoon) during Operation Hailstorm in 1942. Towed to Coron for repair she was hit again and sank.
She was powered by four diesel engines driving twin props, a total of 8000 HP, giving a maximum speed of 19 knots. Today they make a beautiful swim through and penetration dive as it is possible to dive right between the engines starting from the massive gearbox.
At the end of the engines is the engine control room with all its dials still intact. (only possible for a single diver at a time as it will silt out very quickly)
Akitsushima was armed with 10 25 mm anti-aircraft guns, four five inch (50 cal) guns and carried one large Kanwanishi flying boat.
One one of her port side anti-aircraft guns you can find a very impressive 5 shell.
She is one of the best dives in the area with impressive penetration capabilities.
Shot with GoPro Hero 3+ in the amazing Hugyfot underwater housing
