Best Diving in the World. Cozumel , Mexico GoPro Hero3.
My last day of diving on the Cozumel reefs on our month long visit. Nov 12 to Dec 12 , 2012. The first reef is called Caracolillo and the second is Cedral. I was diving with one of my favourite dive company's Dive with Martin After over 250 dives with this company I can not recommend them more highly. Everyone from the dive masters, Captains, equipment managers and front desk staff are like family to me.
Thank you Orlando for making this dive one of the best of the trip. Also I had a chance to meet once again one of my favourite dive buddies and her husband. I also meet some new dive buddies.
I filmed this with the GoPro Hero2 in 1080p 30fps 16:9 wide aspect ratio. I used the flat lens housing from GoPro. Also at times used 2x Sola 2000's and a Backscatter magic flip filter with the Snake River Prototyping tray and lockline arms.
I could have done a bit more editing but i think this video would be great while having a coffee and checking you email in the morning. Or even better on your 50 HD flat panel TV. Please hit like if you are logged into your google or youtube account also click subscribe if you would like to receive updates when my new videos are uploaded.
** adding this product to what I like to use as extension pole for GoPro and edit the title from Word to World, lol. Dec/18/2013.

COZUMEL SCUBA DIVING - PALANCAR CORAL REEF
Mexico is a beautiful place to Scuba Dive, and Cozumel is one of the top scuba diving and snorkeling destinations in the Riviera Maya the Caribbean. It's unique for its drift diving, marine life, and beautiful dive sites. There are a few in particular, called Palancar Bricks, Palancar Gardens, and Palancar Caves. These sites are all part of Palancar coral reef, and are like swimming through a cathedral. Towers and caves of coral rise over you, and run beneath you.
Cozumel is a special island. During the day the big cruise ships, especially Carnival Cruises, unload thousands of people looking for Cozumel excursions. Most go shopping, but the smart few find a local dive shop and get on a boat. If you travel all this way and don't see underwater, you're missing the biggest draw to the island.
I ended up doing a lot of dives here over the past couple years. When editing this video, it was hard for me to cut it into a few minutes for youtube. I settled on just cutting together the dive of Palancar Gardens. That's the dive site if you're curious!
Shout out to all my divers out there. Message me below if you wish you were in the water right now!

Snorkeling Cozumel, Mexico April 2019
This is a little video I put together of my Wife and I snorkeling the reefs in Cozumel on our Honeymoon. Other then swimming with the sea turtle and the shark (that I didn't see or get video of) I think the best snorkeling was in from of our Resort. We stayed at the Cozumel Palace and it has a great spot for you to go from your chair to the water in just a couple of minutes.
We took a 3 reef snorkeling tour as well but I wasn't a huge fan of it. My wife liked it but I felt like I was in a herd of cattle. I couldn't really enjoy the reef because we were constantly bumping into people or getting kicked. So if I had it to do over again, I would look for a more private tour or just rent a jeep and spend the day going up and down the reef.

COZUMEL SNORKELING TIPS & Creepy Animals
Best snorkeling from the shore in Cozumel Mexico. After spending $40 on snorkel boat tours, A local told me that a place called Playa Corona was much better. You could snorkel from the beach and it was free. That was once true. After hurricane Wilma, the coral reef near the shore is gone there as well as the nearby Sky Reef. I’m not sure if the wave action crushed the reef to a pulp or if Wilma just buried it with sand. Probably both. The deeper reefs away from the shore are still intact and thriving well. You can take several snorkeling tours that will guide you. The best snorkeling form the shore we found was at El Presidente Resort and Spa. For three nights we stayed right on the crystal clear turquoise waters and lounged in the many palapas, bungalows, pools and hot tubs. Ocean sunset dinners were spectacular and The food was so fresh it was practically crawling off your plate. We ended up snorkeling from the beach there the entire rest of our vacation exploring a couple small coral outcroppings and the sunken barge thingie. You can rent snorkel gear at El Presidente and The staff was extremely friendly.
All underwater video was shot by a GoPro Hero Black 5

My very first diving experience on the wonderful island of Cozumel in Mexico.
Cozumel is an island and municipality in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen, and close to the Yucatán Channel. The municipality is part of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The economy of Cozumel is based on tourism. There are a number of visitors to the island's balnearios, scuba diving, and snorkeling. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel.

Begginers Scuba Diving In Cozumel 2016
Earlier this year, my wife and I experienced the beginners scuba diving class. I am a certified diver so I was able to capture this experience on my Go-pro. After this excursion, my wife is ready to become a certified diver. This dive spot appears to be a man made habitat. Also, the fish are very friendly.
Diving Snorkeling Cozumel Mexico (2019 HD) Maya Riviera, Caribbean Sea
Love Diving Snorkeling Cozumel Mexico 2019, Maya Riviera, Caribbean Sea. While traveling to and staying on Cozumel for a week, this is the diving that I did. I stayed at 2Tank Dive Hostel which I highly recommend. I did no prior planning of where I would dive and just showed up and winged it. The front desk personnel at 2Tank were very helpful in steering me in the right direction, but getting to these locations was a challenge to say the least.
Please check back weekly as I will be making several videos of this trip and breaking down the experiences by location and what I went thru along the way. I if you have comments or questions, please post them as I would love to get feed back. I want to hear from you !
This first Video starts with the Journey from Merida Yucatan Mexico to Playas del Carmen via ADO bus. From Playas, I caught a ferry to Cozumel. I included maps for reference and to the spot where this video was captured. I walked about 45 minutes in 98 F to get to the location. This takes place next to a Car Ferry along the reef to the ferry, under the pier to the boats and back.
Do you have any favorite places to dive in Cozumel ? please let me know in comments. I look for places with easy shore access.
Cozumel is an island and municipality in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen and close to the Yucatán Channel. The municipality is part of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The economy of Cozumel is based on tourism with visitors able to benefit from the island's balnearios, diving, and cultural attractions. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel.
Cozumel is mostly undeveloped Mexican island in the Caribbean Sea, a popular cruise ship port of call famed for its scuba diving. At Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park, there's diving spots around a section of the Mesoamerican Reef and the Museo Subacuático de Arte’s submerged sculptures. Chankanaab is an eco park surrounding a lagoon with underwater caverns, home to dolphins, manatees and sea turtles.
The island is covered with mangrove forest which has many endemic animal species. Cozumel is a flat island based on limestone, resulting in a karst topography. The highest natural point on the island is less than 15m (49ft) above sea level. The cenotes are deep water-filled sinkholes formed by water percolating through the soft limestone soil for thousands of years.
Cozumel has tropical savanna climate under the koppen climate classification that closely borders on a tropical monsoon cimate. The dry season is short, from February to April, but even in these months precipitation is observed, averaging about 45 mm (1.8in) of rain per month. The wet season is lengthy, covering most of the months, with September and October being the wettest months, when precipitation averages over 240 mm (9.4in). Thunderstorms can occasionally occur during the wet season. Temperatures tend to remain stable with little variation from month to month though the temperatures are cooler from December to February with the coolest month averaging 22.9 C (73.2 F).
The Maya are believed to have first settled Cozumel by the early part of the 1st millennium AD, and older Preclassic Olmec artifacts have been found on the island as well. The island was sacred to Ix Chel, the Maya Moon Goddess, and the temples here were a place of pilgrimage, especially by women desiring fertility. There are a number of ruins on the island, most from the Post-Classic period. The largest Maya ruins on the island were near the downtown area and have now been destroyed. Today, the largest remaining ruins are at San Gervasio, located approximately at the center of the island.
The first Spanish expedition to visit Cozumel was led by Juan de Grijalva. In the following year Hernan Cortes stopped by the island on his way to Veracruz. The Grijalva and Cortés expeditions were both received peacefully by the Maya of Cozumel, unlike the expeditions’ experiences on other parts of the mainland. Even after Cortés destroyed some of the Maya idols on Cozumel and replaced them with an image of the Virgin Mary, the native inhabitants of the island continued to help the Spanish re-supply their ships with food and water so they could continue their voyages.
