Cano Island Dive Trip, Osa Peninsula, Drake Bay, Costa Rica May 2019
2 dives at Cano Island, Bahia Drake, Osa Penninsula. The red filter was great deeper but made it a little too hot at 40 feet. Variety of species was phenomenal in the one little spot. Like most dives seem to, the second was better than first.

Costa Rica Scuba Diving Drake Bay Isla del Caño
Costa Rica Scuba Diving. Caño Island, Drake Bay, is one of the best places for diving in Costa Rica we leave each day at 7:00 a. m. from Drake Bay, the most beautiful dive destination on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. This wonderful place is often compared to Coco Island, which Jacque Cousteau said was one of the world's top dive sites.
Our diving groups are small and always accompanied by PADI divemasters, assistant instructors or instructors. Although we are known for the quality of our service we are equally proud of our diving safety record, with not a single serious problem in our five year existence. We also give courses from Open Water through Assistant Instructor, a number of specialty courses.
Pick up is at Playa Colorada in Agujitas at 7:00 a.m. ypu will need to reserve and prepay in advance since normally we are fully booked in the high season.

Snorkeling at Cano Island, Costa Rica
Cano Island is one of the best snorkeling spots in Costa Rica. It's a 1.5 hour boat ride out to the island from Uvita. For our tour, we went with Mad About Diving - a tour operator in Uvita that does both scuba diving and snorkeling trips to Cano Island. Our trip had 4 snorkelers and 3 scuba divers.
During the boat ride out to the island we saw lots of dolphins. Then once we reached the island, we did 2 swims. One close to the shore with lots of small colorful fish (puffer fish, angel fish, parrot fish, etc.), sting rays, and sea turtles. And a second one a couple of hundred yards out where there were larger schools of fish. Though we didn't see any, our guide told us that occasionally they see mana rays and whale sharks at the second spot.
On the way back to Uvita, we saw more dolphins and lots of sea turtles sunning themselves on the surface.
Caño Island Scuba and Snorkel
Scuba diving and snorkeling around Cano Island in Costa Rica. Thanks to Aguila de Osa for a great time!
Sperm Whale!! - Drake Bay, Costa Rica
Truly rare footage from The Blue Planet Tour on November 9th. Sperm Whales can dive up to 2250m (7382ft), so to see one swimming past us so close to the surface was amazing! The sharks (Silky Sharks) in this video are also rarely experienced, as they are a pelagic species which rarely comes close to shore. Do you need to ask why we love this tour!?

Diving with dolphins - Drake Bay, Costa Rica
This was one of the best experience of our lives. With Shawn Larkin's orientation, we could dive and interact with these amazing animals. These dolphins are victims of tuna's illegal fishing!
