Miyakojima is the best place to dive and explore the nature. Within 30 mins around the island, you will find some good beaches and just step in to dive into the blue world. Japan Travel - Okinawa (沖縄) Trip Day 3 Part I - Snorkeling at the Coral Reef
At day 3 of our Okinawa trip we finally did it - coral reef snorkeling! We were so excited (and a little bit scared) but we all received safety vests and scuba diving costumes so it was easy! The reef was amazing - the fishes were amazing - if you go to Okinawa we strongly recommend coral reef snorkeling, you don't even have to be a good swimmer to snorkel. You can book it at any bigger beach and/or hotel. There are a real scuba diving too but may be next time! :)

Diving and snorkeling in beautiful Okinawa with sea snakes, sea turtles and of course lots of fish. This is just some basic test video I shot mostly with the Canon 5DmkII in an Ikelite dive housing. This video was filmed during our 16 night cruise on the Diamond Princess from Yokohama Japan and return to Yokohama Japan on the 19th July 2019. On our visit to Miyakojima, Japan I spent the morning snorkeling, coming across Green Turtles, Clownfish and many more species.

Since I was on their side of the world, I figured I should pop over to the island of Okinawa, Japan to visit my brother Kyle and his new wife Caitlin. Spent a super chill week with them catching up and exploring under the sea!

located just in front of our Stunning beach on Miyakojima main island, Kurima Island is a small inhabited atoll bound with a bridge to Miyako and has a few hip eateries and this small but very safe and secluded place for snorkeling!! someone was feeding them so I got nice views of many fishes but in not so good quality because my Huawei P20PRO doesn't work well with a Baseus waterproof case to film the cute fishes. All photos are taken by Miki because it is impossible to take photos under water with the Huawei because once the phone is submerged, it will not react to any touch commands. So you can only film video and start filming before you dip it in the water! Also what makes things extremely difficult is the moment you dip it in the ocean, the waves will touch the surface of the screen and your commands will go crazy, it will join in 10x times, it will change the phone mode, it will try to take screenshots, it will not film sharply, it will not adjust to a correct white balance.. it was horribly hard to get the footage that I got so far! Come here with a dedicated Underwater Camera or maybe the newest Huawei P30PRO supposedly waterproof!
